Chapter 14

“Bear has all of your things. They are being dry cleaned or washed. But as soon as we can, we’ll take you shopping to buy some new clothing. I also bought razors. I realize you don’t have much of a beard. Let Danny shave you unless you want to keep it, but frankly, it looks kind of scraggly.”

Robbie looked confused with all the information he had to absorb at once.

At least he had one answer he could give. “No I don’t want the beard, I’ll shave now that I have razors and hot water but I can’t take all of this from you. I don’t want charity. I want to work,” he said, worried that he might take too much from his new friends.

“Don’t worry, you will have a job and when we get the money from your aunt and uncle, you can pay me back. If you like, I’ll run a tally.” Gary told him.

Robbie breathed a sigh of relief. At least he wouldn’t be a burden.
