Two days later

Splash, Splash!

Ice water poured on MelLi who was in a deep sleep as she gasped in surprise, discomfort, and trying to catch her breath but not quick enough as the second and third bucket of Ice water poured on her.

Making the whole bed wet, and she could not inhale any air in time; thus, she starts to cough vigorously and to cause her entire body to shake and begin to shiver. It was the end of October and chilly morning breeze added more damage to her sensitive skin.

After some time, she wiped the water from her face and slowly opened her eyes.

"Rise and shine sleepyhead," said Melina, her step sister.

"Hahaha, sleepyhead nice one sis," said Zelina, her half-sister.

(Zelina and Melina share the same mother but different father; while MeILI and Zelina share the same dad)

MeILi mother passed away in a car accident when she was two years old. Nine months later her father remarried to Sonia, her stepmother who had a four-year-old daughter with another man and after one year then they both had Zelina.

She was growing up in a home that was unsuitable for a child to be in, and her life was worse than a Cinderella fairy tale. She did not have a prince charming to rescue her, nor did she had a fairy godmother to aide her.

Her father never paid any attention to her and treat her like a stepdaughter while he treats both Zelina and Melina like his flesh and blood.

If she wanted to go to school, then she had to earn school fees. Therefore, her stepmother decided that if she does household chores despite them having more than a hundred staffs, she will pay her school fees. Think that, she will not have time to study and excel in her education.

But she was disappointed when every time school ends, MelLI was either first position or second position while her daughters were always in the last place. Think that if she continues like that her future life will be better than her daughters and she could not allow that to happen.

When she graduated, middle school and planning to go to high school, her stepmother insisted that she will deduct her living allows from her school fees. Therefore, MelLi stops having food at home to save some money for school fees. But still, she will deduct, her accommodation and always be short for school fees. That was when she started working in the school kitchen washing plates and clean the kitchen and cafeteria.

Her life in school and the home was not eased one as her sisters would pick on her and bully her.

Both MelLi and Melina were in say grade even though Melina has two years on MelLi, they are still in the same class year. Therefore, during graduation day, her father took his new family to take pictures together, ignoring her, and after that, they all went to celebrate. For MelLi, she had to go to the graveyard to tell her mother about her achievement and then went for job hunter as she no longer able to work in school.

Soon she started to enroll one of the best and expensive University, and she enrolled in Fashion design while making sure that her family thinks that she was doing business. She knew that her stepmother would never allow her to learn fashion because that was what Zelina wanted to do in the future and her stepmother also has recently opened fashion industry to pave way for her daughter.

Therefore, to avoid issues, she applied business school in a community college and enrolled herself in Blossom University for fashion.

However, every place she goes to look for a job, she gets rejected, and it continued like that for almost a month. One day she asked one of the interviewers to be honest with her. Then he told her that her family was influential, and her stepmother sent her name to all organization that they should not hire her. Even if she goes to interviews, just like this one right now, she will receive a rejection letter before she walks out of this building.

She thanks him for his honesty and left the company. She knew that she would never get a job to work, and she can not sell her body to earn money and she also does not want to work in a bar and for the coffee shops and restaurants that she applied they also rejected her.

Her only option was to be a burglar. She was stealing from a wealthy family in the neighborhood, and with that, she manages to pay her first year in university. And four years down the line, she was to graduate from her fashion school top students but to collect her diploma she had to pay the remaining school fees, and that was why she targeted Zong house. She though it was an easy target. after observing for about two months she went in to steal little did she know that one of his body guard was always following her and when she bypass the alarm, he trigger the second alarm so that his boss can find out. Otherwise, she would have got away.

Flashback,

He rests his chin on his fist as he looks at her still standing there. Finally, after waiting for two years, she was his to keep. He did not answer her. Either because he was too excited that his brain fuzzy or he did not want her to leave him tonight.

After what seem like centuries, he signals his bodyguard, and he walked toward MelLi and gave her an envelope. She could feel it was slightly heavy. She opened, and her eyes widen in shocked she look up again, and she could see his gaze has changed from one that looks like a playboy to a caring one and quickly back to playboy and rudely gaze at her.

"What is this?" she asked

"That is your first payment, as my bedwarmer" he replied

"No, I will never be your bedwarmer," she replied as she was getting hostile and ready to fight. She will never lose her virginity to any guy, especially him.

He smiled;

"you already agreed to it when you sign the document. On page 23 it states that after two days from tonight you will move into this house as my other half and we will share same bed…

So now, take that money as your dowry or as a down-payment for your four years staying with me… it depends with you whichever way you view it. So now go."

He was acting rude and playboy to her because he can not trust himself with her. He was afraid that she might find out that he was hopeless in love with her and that he will do anything for her even if she ask him kill someone, he would do it in a heartbeat. As long it was her who was asking.

But she was not ready yet, as he knows that she was never a woman who depend on a man to help her and her trust in man was a bad one as her father destroyed it. therefore, it better to give her this bad side of his when she is with him, until she was ready to accept his bad side.
