Strangers Got Married

Jiva is a young and beautiful woman who is smart, hard working and careless about her personal life. She is the only child of her father Jaivir, a wealthy man, who is extremely orthodox. He was not happy for a few days and he was worried about something. One day he randomly asks Jiva to marry as soon as possible. Jiva was startled as she was not expecting that. She denies and says

Jiva: I don't have time for this. I have a lot of things to do other than this.

Jaivir: That's my final decision.

Jiva: What? Why… so suddenly? What happened?

Jaivir: I didn't ask you anything my whole life. I pampered you so much after your mother died.

Can't you fulfill my one wish?

Jiva: That's unfair. I have my own dreams and ambitions. You can't just take them away…

Jaivir: I am looking for a groom in my business circle, there are a lot of young and talented

gentlemen. If you like someone, that is fine too.

Jiva: But…

Jaivir: If you don't marry as per my wish, then I'll be forced to transfer all my property to your

cousin Mihir.

Jiva: I didn't expect this from you…

Jaivir left the room.

Jiva thought she would find a way. She explained everything to her friend Naina who is a lawyer, and asked her for a solution. Naina understood the situation and asked for some time.

After a few hours —

Jiva was stressed so she called Naina and furiously asked her why she didn't come up with a solution. Naina couldn't come up with anything yet but she got scared by Jiva's tone so she lied that she made a plan saying some random things. Jiva got angry and questioned what she had learnt in her law school. Naina then started making a plan on the spot, and said that they can go for a fake marriage to show Jiva's father, and then she could just move out to a different place where she could live happily without her father's interference. Jiva thinks it's stupid and says "What is this nonsense? What do you mean by fake marriage? Is that even a thing?" but Naina insists that it was a good idea and says they don't have a choice. Jiva responds saying "That's a stupid idea. I can't just marry someone randomly even if it's fake. And how will you even get someone to agree on something like this?" Naina was scared and said "Don't worry, I will arrange everything, just come to the court on 17th". Jiva was confused but agreed to the plan as she trusted her friend.

Jaivir was sitting in his office as Jiva entered his room.

Jaivir: Have you decided?

Jiva: Yes, I have someone in mind.

Jaivir: Who is it? Is it someone we know?

Jiva: No, but you'll see.

Shekhar is a handsome young intelligent man, who wants to achieve something in his life on his own. His father Pramish, on the other hand, wants him to continue his business. Shekhar was never happy with his father's business. Pramish thinks his son is careless, stupid and childish. Shekhar always plans some weird and stupid things to embarrass his father so he would stop wanting him in his business. His plans never succeeded, as Pramish was his father and he knew how to counter his son's plans. Pramish was supposed to attend the court as he and one of the previous project managers were involved in a case where he stole the patents of the latest game concept and designs. He asked Shekhar to attend, to which Shekhar agreed as he couldn't disobey his father. He decided to embarrass his father in front of everyone thinking his father will stop bothering him for every event. He planned to go to the court dressed like a rag picker. He thought that his father would be ashamed to address him as his son in the court. They were supposed to attend court on the 17th.

On the day of the hearing, Jiva was a bundle of nerves as she made her way to the courthouse. She had been dreading this day ever since she agreed to her friend Naina's plan. She couldn't find the promised arrangements that Naina made.

Naina was distressed as she couldn't arrange anything other than the paperwork. She was not even able to find a suitable person for the fake marriage. She thought she would be killed by Jiva and panicked.

Shekhar entered the courthouse with shabby clothes and was waiting for his father to arrive, while looking around.

Jiva was frustrated and was asking Naina what she's planning to do now. Naina saw her death approaching her and started looking here and there. She saw a random guy roaming and pointed at him saying that's the guy. Jiva was surprised to see a disheveled-looking man standing there. Before she could say anything, Naina went to the guy, who was Shekhar and dragged him to Jiva. Jiva asked "Did you bleach your eyes when you were choosing someone?" Naina replies "Do you think I have a tree which grows people? He's the best I could find."

Jiva was not impressed with Shekhar's appearance. He looked like he had been living on the streets for weeks. She couldn't believe that she was going to have to marry this guy. Naina, sensing Jiva's unease, quickly reassured her and put on some makeup on him, making him presentable.

As Naina tried to explain the plan to Shekhar, he was too busy staring at Jiva's beauty to pay attention. Jiva was getting annoyed with Shekhar's lack of focus, but before she could say anything, Naina handed them the marriage contract. Suddenly, Shekhar's conscience kicked in, and he refused to sign the contract. Naina was not about to let her plan fall apart, so she forcefully took his signature and photograph. Naina was relieved that everything went properly. She then documented everything and handed over the marriage certificate to Jiva.

And just like that, two strangers became husband and wife.
