Bobby's pov

Different assumptions, different thoughts are the things that occupy my mind right now, the joy I was feeling on my way here was slowly replaced with confusion and doubts. What if am really the main reason why she left? No, it can't be you, she didn't sound like someone that is willing to see you, I thought. But what if she only pretends to avoid being suspicious of her? Damn it! I can't even think straight.

I pulled the door open as the driver came to a halt at the front of the familiar tan gate, even before stepping down, I can see Melanie and Stella by the gate. Melanie was pacing around, her expression is kind of disturbing, and that only made it worse for me, I don't know what is going on yet but this hunch I'm having doesn't seem like a good one.

" I will call you when I need you" I grumbled to the driver without bothering to wait for his reply before I  pushed the door open.

Stella was the first person to sight me, she quickly rushed to meet me while greeting me with a bow at the same time.

" Evening,"  I managed to say. I walked past her to meet Melanie who is also walking to where I am.

" It's been a while, Bobby," She teased, I just managed to flash her a quick smile, struggling to hide my troubled face. As each second passed by I became more tense and tense. I Know Melanie also noticed that.

" You looked unbalanced, don't tell me this is because you did not meet her in the mansion. '' She rolled her eyes, and I couldn't help but grin silently. I guess I'm the only one that is thinking about some kind of bad stuff here. Not like she is a baby.

I smirked, shoving my hands into my pocket," What if I confirmed that, okay, that's just a part of the reason"

" So, does that mean you have another reason?"

" Yes."

" And what is that?"

" I just don't feel comfortable standing here. With the brightness of these lights, even someone from afar could easily recognise me," I stopped, darting my head to look at Stella. " How about we move to a room to discuss this, I don't think it will be a great idea if someone identifies me, and spread the rumours among the maids, you know that can eventually land where it is not supposed to be" I winked at Melanie.

" Ohhh! I get your point, are you trying to label all of us  gossip machines now?" She hissed.

" That's not what I meant," I defended, it's so funny how she takes it personal when am trying to protect myself.

" Whatever, but it's surprising that you fell in love with one of the Gossip Machines" her voice is not loud but I managed to hear every word clearly. She started to walk towards the gate before I could even think of defending my point.

" Let's just go to your room," I faced Stella. She started to walk towards the gate, not after she gave me her usual mock bow which I find funny. When I noticed the two had disappeared into the gate, I then followed them.

At least, Melanie's reaction and the joke did a lot in putting my mind at ease that everything is okay, the only thing that bothers me is that she never made mention of where she went to which I find it......." You never ask her Bobby," I whispered silently. It's been a long time since someone treat me this casual, Even though Melanie always do it rudely, I still cherished those funny memories I had with her and Melissa.

" You can come in, sir" Stella announced after keeping me and Melanie waiting for a few minutes, who would have imagined that I would come to her room all of a sudden. A girl will always be a girl, I'm sure the room is a mess which gives her no other option to tell us to wait even though she was embarrassed for making that request. Thinking about that only made me laugh for no reason.

" So Melanie, do you have any information about where your friend went to?" I asked, while taking my seat on a pink couch that hardly had enough space to occupy my whole body. I just checked my watch, and it's 8:50 pm already, and that only raised my curiosity because if she really went to see someone and maybe she has a change of plan which I doubt, he would at least give Melanie a call or something.

" To be frank with you, I have no idea of movement, she never told me where she was going" Her words made my whole body stiff, it felt like I was just on a landmine without knowing what to do. All the crazy thoughts that I have abandoned on my way here walk out of my head again. Did she get kidnapped? Or did something happen to her on her way back to the mansion?

I stood up from the couch, I walked to her on the bed she and Stella were sitting on. " I don't get you. You mean you have no idea where she went?" I probed again like I just heard her wrongly.

" Yes," She sighed, I can see that her face was also covered with worry, she must have been hiding it all this while with the hope that she would soon show up.

I bent down at her front, looking down for a few seconds before looking up to meet her gaze again.

" Maybe you should just call her........." The sudden sound that was coming from a phone interrupted me before I could complete my statement. Melanie abruptly stood up and instantly pulled out her phone. I knew who he assumed the caller to be, and I didn't hesitate to stand up to confirm my assumption.

My jaw dropped as I stared at the caller id 'Melissa's Mom'. I and Melanie both look at each other at the same time.

" Do you think she is back," Melanie asked in confusion.

I don't know what to say, and since I am not a Genie I don't think I can predict what her mom is likely to say.

" Just pick it up,"

Melanie swiped the phone screen and then put the phone on speaker immediately.

" Melanie, are you there?"  Melissa's mom sounded from the other side.

" I'm here, ma. Hope there is no problem, ma?"

" Not really, just that I have never set my eyes on your friends since I saw you guys in the afternoon. I just want to know if she is with you because she is yet to get back to the quarter"

I was dumbfounded and I know Melanie feel worse presently. She glanced at me, giving me a question about what to do. My head was also blank, I can't even think straight, or think about a lie.

" Just tell her she is sleeping in your room," Stella muttered from our back, and before I could even weigh what she just said, Melanie had already gone ahead with the lie.

" Okay, thank you. I will see the two of you tomorrow then" And the call ended.

I dropped back on the couch I sat on earlier, cupping my face in between my hands.

"She said he was going to meet someone, but she never gave me a name," Melanie explained bitterly.

" You should have pressed her to tell you the truth," Stella muttered. I stood up again and started pacing. Fortunately, something suddenly crossed my mind.

I walked to Melanie, " Is there someone she has been trying to reach during the week?" I asked, scrutinizing her face with the hope of getting the answer I need. She started mute for what looked like an eternity but she eventually said a name.

" Draven?" I asked in surprise.
