They had grown up together, and his home was practically her second home, freely coming and going as she pleased.
Why would she need to ask him to open the door when she went to his house?
Wait a minute, something wasn't right.
Max sensed a hint of something amiss.
He narrowed his eyes and looked at her, asking, "Which house are you referring to? It's not... the apartment I currently live in, is it?"
Eva nodded naturally. "Of course, why else would I be looking for you? Are you stupid or something?"
She glanced at him with a look of contempt.
It was obviously a pointless question. Why would she need to find him if she was going to his house?
Max's expression froze for a moment, his eyebrows furrowing. He exerted a bit more pressure on her shoulder and looked at her suspiciously, asking, "Why do you want to come to the apartment where I live? It's late, even if you wanted to find a place to stay, you could have gone to my mom's place. Why did you come looking for me?"
Although he had already vaguely sensed that something was wrong, he didn't want to confirm that feeling. He would rather be wrong!
Eva looked at him, her lips curling into a mischievous smile. Slowly, she said, "It seems like you still don't know that you've been tricked by Aunt Yin. Don't worry, I'm also a victim. I understand how you feel."
Max looked frustrated. "What the hell is going on? Just say it already!"
"From today onwards, we are..." Eva was about to say that they were engaged and would live together.
However, just as they walked out of the bar's entrance, someone came charging towards them, full of momentum, interrupting the words she was about to say.
"Hey, girl, give me back my money!"
It was that sleazy driver.
Eva remembered the driver's inappropriate advances towards her earlier, and her little face turned angry as she stared at him.
"You still want money? Are you planning to buy a coffin with it?" She coldly laughed at the driver.
Max was about to listen to her explanation when this person suddenly appeared, causing him to not hear the rest. His handsome face immediately turned displeased as he stared at the driver and asked, "Who are you?"
The driver could tell from Max's appearance that he was a wealthy young master, with a noble temperament and an aura of dominance. It was obvious that he was not someone to be trifled with.
The driver instantly changed his attitude, smiling warmly and speaking in a friendly tone to Max. "Young master, you see, this young lady just took a ride in my car but didn't pay me, so I... I don't know if you could give me the fare?"
Eva crossed her arms, her voice icy. "This uncle here wanted to touch my breasts earlier, so it can be considered as compensation for the fare."
The driver broke out in a cold sweat, nervously laughing. "This... it's a misunderstanding, just a misunderstanding, miss. You misunderstood what I meant. When I said you should go inside and ask your friend for money, I meant that you could leave something as collateral."
"Heh, a misunderstanding?" Eva sneered at him.
Max heard her words and subconsciously glanced at her chest, only then realizing that she was wearing a tight-fitting tank top that perfectly showcased her well-shaped breasts, enough to make anyone's nose bleed.
He clicked his tongue twice and said, "Eva, when did you develop like this? What have you been eating in the US?"
He clearly remembered calling her a little kid before, but now, she was anything but small...
Eva nudged his chest with her elbow and gave him a glare.
She was so tired and just wanted to go back to sleep!
