Chapter 86

The three of them walked down the park with Ariel between Jess and Ken.

Jess was mute, she'd not contributed to the conversation since they started, but suddenly, she felt like it was time for her to speak.

"Ken, where were you last night, you wouldn't believe what happened. Could you believe that Moon tried to set me up with some guy? But thanks to Jess, I was saved," Ariel informed innocently.

Jess immediately looked at Ken and saw how stumped he was; he didn't know how to reply, and his eyes instantly sought hers, silently asking her how to reply.

"Ah, Yes, he wouldn't know..." Jess quickly replied, "When I was going to, you know, meet my boyfriend, I saw him leaving, so he must have been too occupied to notice," Jess shrugged casually, hoping she seemed normal to Ariel.

Ken narrowed his eyes at her. Does she have a boyfriend? Then what was that last night? Anyways, it was none of his business.
