Raging emotions

The magic casted by Henry restricted the movements of the assassins leaving them no chance to retreat.

Although Henry looked frail and weak from outside he was well versed in magic and could use complex magic spells with ease. The assassin on the other hand were not informed about the fact that Henry was a mage. And a mage with large mana reservoir and mastery of magic.

After catching the assassin Henry slowly marched towards them. The hidden faces of the assassin got him curious about their identity. But what mattered more than that at the moment was to identify the person who ordered the assassination. Thus he approached one of the assasin and started to interrogate.

"Tell me who sent you? What's your motive? I'm pretty sure that I haven't offended anyone and neither did I showoff my magical powers. So why are you after me?"

Henry talked while circling around the tied up assassins.

But not even a single one of them opened their mouth and they continued to remain silent. Their silence started to get on his nerves and he started to feel annoyed.

He tried to inquire them peacefully without hurting them but they ignored his questions and continued to remain silent. Unable to keep his calm composure anymore he clenched his fist and glared the assassin.

Their unresponsive attitude annoyed him and he felt insulted by their behaviour. He was merciful enough to inquire them without harming or torturing them. But they took his kindness for granted and ignored him until the end.

Despite feeling annoyed and insulted by their behaviour he didn't show any signs of anger in his face. Instead he looked more calmer than usual and without uttering a single word he walked towards the frozen assasin.

All of the assasin which were trapped in the vines kept on staring at him. His unusual behaviour confused them and left them bewildered. While keeping their eyes on him they wondered why he was walking towards their frozen compatriot.

Just then as he reached the frozen assasin a hammer made up of stone appeared in his hand and he completed crushed the frozen assasin into pieces infront of their eyes. Seems like all along the way Henry was chanting magic in his head without uttering any words.

The shattered pieces of the frozen assasin shocked them. Henry's action was meant as a warning for them and they quickly understood his intentions. Upon seeing his brutality they started to panic. Instinctively all four of them realized that if they didn't answer his question then they'd be the ones lying in the floor.

But they were assassins and assassin's were never allowed to disclose the information regarding their mission to outsiders. Revealing the information regarding their mission would get them killed by their higher ups in the most cruel way. While keeping it hidden would get them killed by Henry as well. They were caught in a serious dilemma.

Realising that they've got no chance to escape, one of the assassin bit his own tongue and took his life committing a suicide.

The other two tried to do the same thing but one of them chickened out and stopped at the final moment, thus leaving him the only one alive from the five assasin which assaulted Henry.

"I'm sorry I can't do this. Forgive me but I can't do this. I'm too scared to die."

He started to weep and beg infront of his dead comrades.

His cowardice provided Henry with an opportunity to exploit his weakness. Henry smirked and walked towards him.

"Good decision. Why would you die for a mission? I'm sure that you've got a lot of people to worry about and I'm sure that there's somebody awaiting for your return. So why would you die such a meaningless death."

Henry exclaimed while marching towards the remaining assasin.

"If you die now then nobody would even remember you. What meaning would your life have if you die such a miserable death? Instead why don't you work for me and reveal the person who appointed you and I shall let you live. Not only that I'll guarantee your safety and I personally will hire you as one of the soldiers in the royal army."

He continued while circling around the remaining assasin.

"You should think wisely and think which decision would benefit you. I'm sure you're a wise man and I believe that you'll make a wise decision."

Henry suddenly stopped infront of him and looked him in his eyes and finished his sentence while reassuring him of his safety and guarantee over his life.

Even though he was in no position to deny the offers he couldn't accept it right away as there were still doubts about Henry's words. Henry's offer seemed too good to be true to him.

Thus the assassin hesitated to reveal the identity of the contractor at first. But he had no choice afterall, it was either Henry or death afterall. And he was coward who couldn't even take his own life.

Hence passing on this offer would mean death to him.

Eventually he gave out to the tempting offer laid by Henry and reluctantly accepted his offers.

"The one who contracted us to assassinate you was non other than your big mom the first wife of the king Charles and the first queen of the present kingdom of babylon."

The assasin revealed.

Henry had already suspected the first queen for the assassination attempt. He was aware of the ill intention and cold gazes he often got from the first queen. But he still believed that she wouldn't stoop so low that she would try to assassinate him.

The truth revealed by the assassin completely shattered his heart and left him heartbroken.

After some moment of silence he looked at the assassin while sulking over the fact that his own family tried to kill him.

"Uh.. ummmmm Are you five the only assassin sent over here?"

Henry questioned while trying to maintain his calm composure.

"Actually I don't know but I'm sure that there are more than five of us. I'm not sure about the numbers but I heard that some of the squads left earlier than ours."

The assasin replied while trying to remember something.

The looks on Henry's face changed and his face started to get pale. His eyebrows frowned and he started to gasp heavily.

The looks on his face indicated that he was troubled by something after listening to the assassin.

Henry abruptly rushed outside the door and ran towards his mother's room.

Step! step! step!

As he approached his mother's room he found the door half open and light seeping out from the small space between the door.

He hurriedly rushed towards the door and abruptly slammed the door. He stood infront of the door while gasping his breath.

"No, no, no it can't be."

He mumbled with a shocked expression.

His eyes wide open, his mouth gasping heavy breathes and his body shaking. The sight infront of him left him terrified.

What laid infront of him was the corpse of his mother covered in blood.

White feez oozing out from her mouth and her hands pressing at her stomach as she laid in the ground with her pupils looking at the door. Her corpse indicated that she died in extreme pain while seeking out for help.

Henry couldn't bear the sight of his dead mother who he have seen a moment ago cheerfully enjoying the party.

Unable to accept the death of his mother who he loved more than anyone else in the world, tears filled his eyes as it rolled down from his eyes.

"Why does it need to be you and not me? How can I live knowing that you won't be with me anymore? Why? Just why?"

Henry completely broke apart and started to weep.

With eyes full of tears he walked towards her corpse tumbling all along the way.

"Mom? Mom? Answer me? Tell me that you're okay. Mom!"

Denying the reality he desperately called out for her hoping that she would answer his calls.

But no response could be heard as she stayed there silently lying on the floor.

Upon reaching her, he lowered his body and sat beside her. He then slowly raised her dead body in his arms and tightly held onto her while embracing her. He continued to shed tears while tightly embracing her.

After a moment~

"You'll pay for it. You shouldn't have messed with my mother. I was willing to let you go but you've crossed the line. You'll pay for it. And I'll make sure that you'll die a horrible death that would even scare the death itself. I swear"

Henry furiously yelled while holding the corpse of his mother in his arms.

After a while he carefully let down the corpse of his mother.

After carefully laying her corpse he wiped his tears. Unable to think straight he was about to storm towards the first queen probably to kill her.

Just when he was about to leave something stopped him. He looked behind and found that his clothes were tangled up in his mothers jewelry.
