Looking like a Million Bucks

The following day, I woke up feeling excited. I cannot wait to see the expression on Aki's face once he sees me. I got up and went to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. I put on a simple dress before heading to the kitchen to prepare a simple western breakfast of sourdough bagel with chia seeds, scrambled eggs and frankfurters for dad and some oats for me.

As I was enjoying my breakfast, dad came into the kitchen and kissed me on the forehead before taking his seat.

"Good morning, darling."

"Good morning, dad!"

"Someone looks really happy today. How are you adjusting? You've been gone for a long time."

"I am indeed happy! Today is going to be perfect! I missed home and I'm glad to be back." I beamed at my dad.

"That's good to know. Well, I need to go to the hospital after this meal and I might not be able to come back for dinner and I might need to put in some extra hours since I need to prepare for a major operation and consult doctors will be arriving to assist me with the operation. I'm sorry if I can't spend some time with you."

"Oh dad. I am no longer a child." I giggled as the man left the kitchen after quickly finishing his plate. I finished my bowl of oatmeal with berries and walnuts before heading back to my room. I really can't wait to surprise Aki!

I took a bath and primped myself to make sure that the moment Aki lays his eyes on me, he'd start drooling and begging me to be with him again. Yes! I am Andrea Simpson, after all! No man can ever refuse me!

Before heading out, I took one good look at myself in front of the mirror. The silver dress and red stilettos really accentuates all of my assets! With just a simple makeup with red lipstick and my luscious curls flowing freely down to my shoulders, I look like a Diva! A million bucks at that! I smiled and nodded my head in satisfaction.

"You will be mine again, Damascus Lee!" I said with certainty and left for Aki's company.

The moment I stepped into Aki's company, people were looking at me. Yes, yes. I know I look gorgeous! I smiled and went to the receptionist to tell them that I am here to see Damascus.

"Yes? How can I help you?" the lady behind the front desk politely smiled and asked me.

"I'm here to see Aki."

"Do you have an appointment, Miss?"

"Andrea Simpson."

"Yes, do you have an appointment with Mr. Lee, Ms. Simpson?"

"No. This is more of a surprise personal visit." I flashed a smile at her.

"I see. I do apologize but without an appointment…"

"I do not need an appointment. Just tell him that Andrea Simpson is here to see him." I cut her off and flashed another knowing smile at her.

"I do apologize Miss. You really cannot go in and see Mr. Lee without an appointment, personal or business matter at that." The lady responded curtly with a smug face.

"Excuse me? Do you even know who you are talking to? Once Aki finds out about this, you will be sacked!" I fumed.

"Miss Simpson, again, I do apologize, without an appointment you are not able to go and see Mr. Lee." She said with finality before resuming her work.

"Hey you. You better listen. Either call the office and inform Aki of my presence or call Tako. He'd know who I am. And I swear, you will need to find a job starting now!" I told her with gritted teeth and my fingers tightening around the red purse I am holding.

The nerve of this woman. She didn't even spare another glance at me as if I am invisible. I will make you pay for disrespecting me! I tapped my fingers and told her again: "Call anyone in his office. They know who I am! I didn't know when Aki started hiring fools like you!"

The woman just looked at me, not budging at all. And at that moment, Aki's private lift opened. Yes! I'm sure Aki will fire this stupid woman for stopping me to see him! Just wait. As I turned around, expecting to see Aki, my smile turned quite stiff seeing that it was Tako alighting from the lift. Well, it's also good to see him. I am sure he will tell this stupid receptionist off! Hmph. I then fixed myself and hurriedly waved to Tako.

"Tako! Tako!"

Hearing a woman's voice calling to him, Tako looked up. Seeing it was Andrea, he was not sure how to react. He quickly regained his composure and smiled professionally at the woman waving her arms, calling his name.

"Ms. Simpson."

"Oh come now, Tako. What's with the formalities?" I mused. Clearly, he never changed one bit. He just looked at me with that stoic face and demeanor. This man really needs to learn how to be human.

"It's been a while since I last saw you. How have you been? How's the company?" I continued, trying to warm him up.

"It's been a long time indeed. The company is doing well. How may I help you?"

"Tako. No need to be so formal with me. I came here to surprise Aki! I am sure he'd be excited to see me! I just got back a few days ago." I beamed, expectantly.

"I apologize, Ms. Simpson. I do not remember having you in Mr. Lee's schedule. Everybody knows he does not accept 'surprise' visits." He enunciated the surprise part without even showing any emotions. I sighed.

"But Tako, I am not everybody." I emphasized on the 'everybody' part, reminding him of who I am in Aki's life. He coughed before responding.

"Ms. Simpson, with all due respect, without an appointment, NOBODY can see Mr. Lee." He said curtly before walking away.

The nerve! I was fuming! I walked after him and grabbed his elbow.

"Listen now, Tako. You better do your f*cking job and tell Aki I am here to see him!"

He just shrugged my hand off before continuing walking out of the building, leaving me there with all the people looking at me.

The f*ck! I will have all of you! This humiliation. Aki will deal with all of you! I smirked as thoughts of how Aki will make these people suffer his wrath for treating me this way. I know how strict the security is and since Tako also already left, for now, there is nothing I can do. Oh wait, maybe I should just pay him a visit at home? Yes. That's right. I'll just have to go there myself. And I will just wait for him to arrive. But it's only lunch time and he usually leaves the office at 8 pm. I do not want to wait for that long. I sighed.

I decided to go back home and re-assess my plans on getting Aki back. I really need to meet him first and be in contact with him again.
