The park 2
In less than an hour they arrived at a huge park swarming with people, kids running around with balloons and smeared with ice cream.
Bella felt tortured... She never had this sort of freedom as a child and it hurt her as parents held their kids in the merry-go-round, Her parents never had time for that. They spent all their years hiding.
" popcorn?" Ethan grinned at her, pointing at a stand with a man selling popcorn.
"I think I'll pass" She frowned, with her arms wrapped around her, Ethan quickly felt he had made a mistake bringing her here. She took her arms staring at her intently with a calm gentle look.
"your childhood might not have been fun, but you can make the best out of your adulthood".
Bella gently snatched her arms away from his grip, her eyes were fixed on a middle-aged woman with her protruding stomach and a little boy, her eyes watered. Truly she shouldn't have come here.
" I used to come here with Emily every holiday when we were little and I'm standing right here now... Some people have darker pasts Bella and dwelling on the past makes you its servant". Bella frowned, they stared at each other for a while. Ethan cleared his throat noisily.
"Enough with my words of wisdom, why don't we play a game" he dragged Bella to a spot where you'd have to use the arrow to pierce three ballons of the same color for a prize.
"Can you play?" Bella asked as he rolled up his sleeves.
"Well! I've never tried this one" Pacing back and forth like a boxer He threw the first arrow on a red balloon and it hit a blue one.
"awww! I wanted to hit the red one!" He said dropping the arrows, Bella pushed him aside grinning as she picked up the remaining arrows.
"You're hitting the blue balloons right?" Ethan said anxiously, Bella's grin widened.
"let me show you how this is done" She sneered throwing one arrow and it hit the red one.
"Dang! How are supposed to hit two red balloons with one Arro...w" He gasped as the last Arrow hit two farther high balloons, on on top of the other.
"Impressive Miss!, choose your gift," The guy at the stand said, Bella nudged Ethan to pick and he got a large stuffed panda bear. He wanted to ask how she learned that cool move but they got interrupted by a distant wail, a Teenage boy in a wheelchair's bag was snatched by some bullies and they were on the run. Bella abandoned Ethan sprinting like a cheetah, she pursued them, and Ethan followed quickly but was way behind.
Bella wasn't fond of bullies, she abhorred them because she had been bullied once in middle and she had planned to get revenge in a very bad way that would have cost the school its reputation... The Don anonymously had sent a message warning the school about bullying and after that, she didn't know why the bullies had to get transferred.
Bella caught up to a redhead among the bullies who had the bag grabbing him by his collar she pulled him forward pressing him to the grab, Ethan swore her moves looked military, plus the boy was almost his size and muscular compared to Bella's small frame.
"let me go bitch!" He cursed in pain as Bella squeezed his arms behind him. A small crowd gathered
"Well, this bitch says you're gonna have to apologize to that young boy and return the bag or I'm calling juvenile officers... Theft is a crime no?" She said as he struggled, minutes later some officers rushed to the scene.
"This boy and his friends have been a menace... Thank you mam for apprehending him" They said dragging him along as he wailed, Bella tossed the bag to the Boy on the wheelchair, her face cold.
"Don't let them bully you.."
Ethan dragged her out of the crowd towards a slide with toddlers screaming in glee, he didn't say a word, rather he frowned. Was she in the military or something? Bella noticed his puzzled look and rolled her eyes.
"Did you go to military school? How did you..."
" You need to check my Resume then... I used to work as security for a jewelry shop in Tennessee before I got to college" she explained, Ethan nodded smiling as a little girl pointed to Bella yelling.
"your wife is a superhero, sir". Bella frowned and just as she wanted to correct that impression, Ethan picked up the little girl who smiled goofily with her lips smeared with chocolate.
"You really think so?"
" Yes, she makes children happy... Like she did to that boy, and she gets all the bad guys" She rattled, she was a talker, Bella scoffed as Ethan laughed loudly while the child whispered into his ears.
" She makes only kids happy, but she doesn't make me happy" Ethan complained and Bella couldn't believe her ears. The child held her hands to her mouth in shock.
"Mam, You have to make your husband happy, if He's not happy your children will be sad. My mum makes my daddy happy and My brother is happy too" she babbled. A woman and a boy rushed towards Ethan and from the resemblance, they knew she was her mother and the little boy was probably her brother.
" Yvette, why did you leave your brother and wander off" she scolded taking the child from Ethan.
" I'm sorry, she must have bothered you" she apologized to Ethan, who chuckled lowly as the child made faces at him.
"Not really, She's very sweet, but a handful I must say... I bet all kids are" He smiled. Thankfully the woman was not able to recognize him with the dark shades on, if only she knew who He was But Ethan didn't like being recognized he liked interacting with people and hated too much attention or people crowding him because he was a public figure... He was simple.
"Awww! You'll both have them running around soon enough" Yvette's mum smiled leading the kids to her car. Bella felt her face hurt from embarrassment, She glared at Ethan as he opened the door of His car for her to get in and she entered, he followed hitting the brakes.
" Thank God!" Bella exclaimed tiredly, she couldn't wait to be home.
"I'm not taking you home yet... It's just Noon and I guess you haven't had lunch" Ethan said, apparently Bella had not had her breakfast that morning". Just as she opened her mouth to refuse, Her tummy grumbled loudly and Ethan chuckled.
"See, Even your tummy agrees with me". He smirked and Bella felt her cheeks turn hot from embarrassment.
