Red Mountain Enclosure is located at the junction of Inner Mongolia and Hebei, spanning 14,000 square kilometers. There lies vast grasslands, endless forests, as well as clear highland lakes. The area boasts lush vegetation and waters, home to over fifty protected species including black storks, golden eagles, white cranes, bustards, wild Père David's deer, and the Gold Leopard. It once served as a royal hunting ground where emperors of the Qing dynasty led their Eight Banners nobility to practice archery and martial arts.
After liberation, Red Mountain Enclosure was developed into a scenic area and wildlife reserve. Many film crews would also come here specifically for location shooting.
