Chapter 1: The Tyran'ts End

The night was cold but the warrior's burning desire of escaping the tyrant's sovereignty allows them to fully engage themselves in the battle. The sound of blades hitting each other were more than a symphony. To think that these warriors have to fight their own comrades under their king's order speaks the most. In their kingdom's nearing end, the question of the king's whereabouts was all in their minds.

In the innermost part of the castle, there lies their king still sitting on his throne with a boastful attitude. The thought of losing against the largest empire in their continent never came to his mind, not the very least. It is because he has his daughter with him. Years of training and he now have a pretty servant that he could use any time. That's what he thought. "Right? Letizia?"

He called for his daughter. It is to ensure that Letizia understood everything about his plan.

The plan, as Letizia knew is to shift their memories again, making them believe that their king was all mighty and that Kant is no more like saint. However, the people who'll caught up this spell won't just only reach the entire kingdom, but for the rest of the world as well. It was never a problem as Letizia is accompanied by a memory spirit that the king is very much proud of.

But Letizia is strongly opposed of her father's plan. Truth to her words, it is only the reason why the memory spirit loves her despite of having an evil father. Acting nice to him was just all an act in order for her plans to go smoothly as planned. Like this time, she kneeled before her father and said, "yes. I am." As these words escaped her lips, cold entered her body. The breeze of the winter's wind from the opened windows were cold enough for her to shiver down to her spines.

There was a grin from her father's face as soon as she answered. Her father's heart fluttered in elation as she started moving her hand. In a fraction of second, her fingertips glowed and a strong mana was released from the memory spirit. She started levitating as if her own magic is lifting her. The glow in her hand then started spreading around her body. As this process is currently being done, blinking lights in the form of fireflies appeared inside the throne room.

A laugh was then heard. The king's laugh covered the wide scene. It is to announce his victory against the Kant empire that no one in history was able to accomplish. Well... at least that's what he thought.

When Letizia's body was surrounded with light, she instantly felt her companion's presence. Emn, the memory spirit passed through her body warming and calming her nervous soul. Suddenly, the noise stopped. Her father's laugh, the sounds of blades from afar, and the sound of her beating heart all vanished in a second. She felt her feet touched the grass. To her confusion, she opened her eyes.

Letizia's emerald eyes met an uncanny creature. In her mind, she described the said creature glowing in the brightest light she could ever see, but not the kind of light that bothers her eyes. Instead it is warm and totally pleasant. The creature has the form of a man that is quite taller than her father. He has white hair with a pale brown skin. He wore a purple satin that covers his body down to his knees. The godly creature spoke in Letizia's mind, "lady, for what reason you came here?"

Like a dream, the man disappeared right before her eyes. The sound of lightning woke her up. The sudden storm was strong enough to tilt the boat she's in. Raindrops were hitting her hardly. Letizia thought that the ocean cursed her too. She began to panic as the gigantic ocean surges conquers her small boat. At that time, she knew that her end is near. To think that she manages to escape her hell-like life under her father only to die in this storm.

With that sudden realization of her final moments, she began spreading her arms with Emn beside her. She closed her eyes, listening to the ocean's wrath. A gigantic wave could hit her at any moment and all she could do is to wait for it to happen. She spent the remaining seconds of her life trying to make herself feel better.

In the end, she could only say to herself, "I guess this is how death feels like."
