Chapter 50: Paris

It was odd to accept that school was officially over. They received their diplomas at their graduation ceremony. Veronica had been in the running for valedictorian but had ultimately been considered too controversial due to all the media coverage. Kate was just relieved they actually made it to graduation.

"Congratulations, Katie!" Grams pulled Kate into a hug. "We're so proud of you!"

Kate smiled, bashfully. "Thank you, Grams."

Kate hadn't been able to tell her grandparents about the soul eater. She was scared how they would react. She didn't think they would wash their hands off her but they would be disappointed. As much as Margot tried to comfort her by saying she wasn't to blame, she couldn't shake off the role she played in events.
