Chapter Twenty One..taste of my own medicine

Eloise realized that Jakes was using her own words against her .He was giving her a taste of her own medicine through the bible teachings she gave Jakes twelve years ago .

Neither of them had forgotten the teachings .

"Didn't that person tell you that infidelity , betrayal and cheating are things that she doesn't give second chances for ? "Eloise also gave Jakes a taste of his own medicine and that was when Jakes recalled Eloise's words twelve years ago .

*I don't give second chances to infidels ,betrayals and cheaters .I hate them and I also disgust those who don't stay true to their promises .

Those people are snakes under grasses ,they bite you at unexpected moments and so I don't like them at all .

It's said that betrayal hurts when it's done by someone close and so I don't ever want to feel betrayed !*

Jakes heard a deja Vu of Eloise's voice in his ears ."She thought me well but as I said , I'm jerk and a first class coward for letting her go .

I don't know what to do to get her back but I'm certain I will win over her some day .I'm so certain ....!"Eloise giggled at Jakes' certainty .

"Sir !! .."Eloise tried to push him away as Jakes had pulled her into his arms so tightly and pressed his lips against hers . Initially ,Eloise retreated but she found herself returning his kiss too . It was her first time a man kissed her and that too ,it was her love .

The one whom she had preserved her entire body for but when all the past memories came back into play in her mind ,she pushed Jakes away ,picked up her project files and his swipe card and quickly left the office being so forgetful that the shirt had been stained with blood .

"Miss Jenkins ? Your shirt ..what happened to the shirt I just gave you ? "Renata asked feeling a bit panicked ."The blood ? Whose blood is it ? "She asked again before drawing out a long oversized jumper from her desk drawer and handing it to Eloise to cover up her stained shirt.

"Thanks Renata ,I know you and I are not friends but still ,you helped me out .Thanks ..!"Eloise said with humility .

"Even I don't know you very well Eloise !

Is it okay if I call you that ? " Renata asked , and took Eloise's both hands into hers as Eloise didn't have a problem in her addressing her with her first name ."Eloise ,you'd be a better spouse to the chairman than that model Meredith !

Don't get stressed out yet ,I know whatever that has transpired between you and the chairman .

Please sit ,I will get you a cup of coffee ...!" Renata quickly prepared a cup of coffee for Eloise .

"Thanks Renata ...!" .Eloise sipped her cup of coffee .

"I've known the chairman since childhood because my dad is a driver in their house .

Ma'am Dora is the one who took care of my education and is now taking care of my sister's as well .

My sister is actually six months old and is in creche ..hehe!

When he returned from Long Beach City ,you were the only one he talked about with me .

Growing up ,I was a witness to your text messages and calls and do you remember that day when he told you that he was working on a project with his chilly ? " Renata asked with bright eyes expecting Eloise to give her a positive answer .

"Yeah ,he told me he was working on a project with his chilly .

I even spoke to her ,that girl was so jovial and funny then .

She told me she'd even be my bridesmaid when I got married to Jakes and childishly ,I accepted not knowing who she really was ."Eloise told Renata who had teary eyes .

"That chilly was me .I was the girl who was eager to be your bridesmaid !"Renata spilled the beans and this surprised Eloise alot .

"You ? " She almost spilled her coffee on Renata out of shock .

"Yes me ,Eloise !

I 'm the one Jakes referred to as his Chilly !"

Renata confirmed her long time friendship with Jakes ."Alot has happened but when he returned from Australia ,it was only you he had in mind . Eloise ,I'm not saying this to prove Jakes' act right .Those three years of devastation wasn't easy for you but before you hate him entirely with your heart ,I'd like you to know that he truly loves you .Look at this ..!"Renata pulled out her iPad and showed Eloise a picture of a painting ."Look at this painting Eloise ,he painted this himself .If you enter Jakes' room in their mansion ,this painting is right there and it's one of his biggest paintings .He has his own personal art gallery in his room with which he doesn't allow anyone into that room but of course ,he allowed me because he considers me his friend .You know at work ,we keep our relationship on professional bases but after work ,we can talk and chill our hearts out !"Renata continued to speak about Jakes .

"Why are telling me this now ,Renata ? " Eloise asked .

"It's nothing personal ,I just want you to know that Jakes still loved and cared about you before those three years of devastation arrived and ruined both your relationships .

In that art gallery is only yours and his memories that are there .

Eloise ,all those paintings of you and Jakes on the wall in his office and in his lounge was made right after he came from Australia ; that was when he realized how much he really did love you ."Renata tried to convince Eloise somehow .

"Renata ,if you are just trying to defend Jakes ,I understand because if I were to be in your shoes ,I would have done the same however ,years have changed and things have changed as well .There can no more be Jakes and I because I have ended everything there was or ever growing between us .

Right now ,I want to work so that I can fend for myself .

Renata ,I thank you for your efforts but I have made my decision to let go of my past and that includes Jakes and our memories !"
