Chapter 146 "Clash Inside The Manor"

Facing the sudden strength of Wentworth, a voice in Christine's heart urged her to act swiftly, resolving the situation as soon as possible.

Just as Christine was about to issue orders for the surrounding wizards to converge on Wentworth, he interjected, "What? Don't feel like playing the game you made yourself? Afraid, aren't we?"

Before Christine could respond, another wizard emerged from behind her, brandishing his wand and declaring, "I'm coming! I want you to see with your own eyes that your own people are dying in front of you one by one! Remember, it's not me who killed them, but you!"

As the wizard stepped forward to face Cedric, Christine had to temporarily abandon the previous plan.

She looked up at Wentworth and remarked, "Since you're willing to play, that's the best option. I'd like to see what you can do when these two are dead!"

The wizard and Cedric stood poised, wands raised.

"Protego!" Cedric casted, and soon his body is enveloped by a barrier. He looked at his opponent's eyes, anticipating his next move by observing his minuscule movements.

"Avada Kedavra!" The opposing wizard cast, his voice filled the hall as the deadly spell was casted.

Simultaneously, both sides initiated their moves.

Employing a standard defensive spell, Cedric deftly evaded the opponent's Killing Curse while casting a Protection Charm.

"Avada Kedavra!" With an annoyed expression, he casted another, wishing it would hit Cedric this time. He persisted, and the second Killing Curse sped toward Cedric.

Observing this, Cedric opted not to evade this time. Instead, he aimed his wand at the opponent. "Avada Kedavra!" The identical Killing Curse streaked directly at the adversary.

Launching his own Curse directed at the wizard on the opposing side, no fear could be seen in Cedric's expression...

Wentworth has earned an elite wizard who's ready to go through thick and thin with him.

Two Killing Curses intertwined in the air, emitting a dazzling and brilliant light. The lights reflected on their face wasn't enough to make them turn their eyes away as they watched what was happening in front of them with a face of terror.

They are currently witnessing a young wizard managing himself against an experienced wizard, trading spells without fear, knowing his life could go away in a blink at any moment.

"This is impossible!" Exclaiming in disbelief, Cassandra, who had been silent by the side, was the first to react.

Cassandra stared at Cedric nearby, her face filled with horror as she muttered repeatedly, "Impossible! How is this possible?! He is only a second-year at Hogwarts; how can he learn to cast one of the Unforgivable Curse?"

Beside Cassandra, Christine sat upright in her chair, eyes fixed on the two Killing Curses. Her expression showed worry as she watched them trade another spell.

On the other end, Wentworth didn't seem worried at all, a subtle smile lingering on his lips. Knowing he was about to roll the ground with them, he couldn't contain the excitement inside his heart.

Soon, the dynamics on the field shifted again. The two originally entangled Killing Curses took an unexpected turn, with one clearly faltering and steadily compressing backward.

Cedric steadily advanced, synchronizing every step with the progression of his Killing Curse.

In contrast, the wizard who emerged behind Christine was visibly struggling, beads of sweat streaming down his face. Despite clenching his teeth tightly, he couldn't propel the wand forward.

Christine discreetly signaled another wizard behind her as the Killing Curse inched closer to the struggling wizard. This wizard discreetly drew his wand and aimed it at Cedric, releasing an unknown spell towards the dueling pair.

*BOOM!*

However, before the spell could reach Cedric, another magical force intercepted it, resulting in an explosion.

From Wentworth's side, Green's voice chimed in, "Ah, I just accidentally waved my wand, why did it suddenly explode? That's weird!"

The unexpected explosion startled everyone present. Even the wizard engaged in the duel with Cedric turned his attention to the sudden blast.

However, Cedric remained unfazed.

Seizing the moment of distraction, Cedric intensified his magical output. The opposing wizard could no longer withstand Cedric's pressure.

"What! Wait, No---" With a desperate scream, Cedric's Killing Curse finally struck the opponent.

All of this unfolded in the blink of an eye, catching Christine and the others off guard, leaving them with no time to react.

As the lifeless body hit the ground, Kristen, visibly disturbed, slammed the seat and stood up. The wizards surrounding Wentworth and the others aggressively brandished their wands.

In response to the brewing conflict, Green positioned himself in front of Wentworth, shielding him, while Cedric aimed his wand at Christine.

Tension escalated, hinting at an impending confrontation.

Wentworth, taking refuge behind Green, provocatively questioned, "What? Can't accept a loss, miss? Trying to cheat your way out on this one?"

Christine, undeterred, took a deep breath and pointed to Cedric, demanding, "Who is he?"

Wentworth theatrically answered, "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a second-year student at Hufflepuff House, a genius wizard who achieved all O's in his first year - Cedric Diggory!"

Christine scoffed, "Do you think I am stupid enough to believe such lies, Grindelwald?! Tell me who is he? There is no way a sophomore would be this strong!"

Wentworth nonchalantly retorted with a smug smile on his face, "Why do you think of that?"

Observing Cedric, Christine inquired, "What's his true identity? There is no way..." Desperation swept her face as she started rambling, "Did he drink a Polyjuice Potion? Did he use a Transfiguration Spell? Tell me, Grindelwald!"

Wentworth felt wronged by Christine's accusation and couldn't contain his anger any longer, "Watch your mouth, you wench! He is a proud friend of mine, Cedric Diggory!"

After a moment of silence contemplating her fate, Christine declared coldly, "Wentworth Grindelwald, the game is over! It would be better if you were gone for good!" She readied her wand, pointing it at Wentworth.

All the wizards around Christine followed her gesture and readied their wands pointing at Wentworth, Cedric, and Green.

Cassandra was anxious about everything happening around her. She was ready to cry and scream at any time, given with the pressure on her head right now.

Meanwhile, Wentworth is still looking at Christine while occasionally observing the position of others to get the information he needs to solve the challenge before him.

Will Wentworth find himself crying over the loss of his comrades or will he take care of the problem and get rid of Christine to save Cassandra from her grasp?
