Ugly past

His life had not been perfect. But he would give anything to return to how his life was a few months ago.

He could still remember. The look on his mother's face that night. For some reason, whenever he saw Liam, he seemed to remember his mother.

"You disgusting animal!" She shrieked and slapped him hard across his face.

Oliver knelt down, rubbing his palms together and shaking his head as tears flowed down his eyes.

"It's not true. Mum please... believe me."

She hit him again. And again.

"You devil child! I have done my best to raise you in the way of the Lord, but this is how you repay me? This is how you pay my husband, who took care of you and raised you as his son? You are disgusting. You are evil!" Tears also began to pour out of his mother's eyes while he sobbed and kept begging her for forgiveness.

"It's... not true. Forgive me. Please. I'll... I'll do anything."

"SHUT UP!" She spat at him.
