Aunt Lucy's spoon dropped in her plate and her eyes widened. Liam guessed she hadn't been expecting that.
"Really?" She asked in surprise.
"Yes. I met mum yesterday." He answered. He hadn't told her he had gone there. He had returned late at night and had told his mother not to tell her because he felt it would be weird if Lucy found out from his mother and realize he had lied to her despite all she was doing for him.
Lucy wanted to say something, but she opened her mouth and closed it, not knowing what to say.
Liam looked at Cindy, who looked oblivious to what they were talking about. She only looked at her mother and him curiously before she continued having breakfast.
"I wanted to stay the night there but mum didn't want me to. So I returned home, but I couldn't stay there either. Dad had gone to the hospital to stay with mum. The house felt empty and cold." He said with a sad sigh.
