Do You Remember

Son Goza POV - Earth, Georgia, Unnamed Woods - 2010

Shortly after realizing that I'm very likely in The Walking Dead Universe, I hold back my shock and focus back on the womanly figure who is standing still a few meters from me armed with a katana and who has two chained zombie pets behind her.

I calmly greet her while making sure that I have my tail wrapped around my waist making it look like a somewhat unusual belt, "Good morning."

The womanly figure looks at me in silence for a few seconds before she asks in a quiet but calm voice, "You know? You should be much warier of the people you encounter, even more so when they are armed and you don't know them. I could easily kill you and rob you of your meal..." before she adds in a much quieter and sad tone, "I have seen people do worse for much less..."

Hearing that, I smile slightly and reply, "Well, first of all, my instincts tell me that you are a good person and that you mean no harm to me, and I learned to trust my guts quite a bit. In addition, even if for some reason my guts are wrong, I'm still confident that I will be able to defend myself in case of danger."

After saying that, I changed the subject and invited her, "Anyway, my meal is almost ready, would you like to join me?"

In response, I notice the woman warily look at the half-cooked meat on the frying pan before the hand that holds her katana tenses up and she asks, "What kind of meat is that?"

Quickly understanding the reason behind her wariness, I pick up the coyote fur pelt and showing it to her I say, "Don't worry, it's coyote meat... it isn't the most delicious one of the animals that can be found in this forest, but it is the only one I was able to find."

After saying that, I put down the coyote fur pelt and let out a sigh before I comment, "Aahhh... I would have preferred some rabbit, deer, or bear they taste much better... in fact, even a snake would have been a better choice, but beggars can't be chosers..."

In response to that, the woman seems to relax a little before she chuckles and comments, "Heh... Bears? Really? I can understand rabbits, deers, and hell, even snakes, but bears?"

Hearing that, I calmly explain as I turn on the electric cooking device and resume cooking the meat, "It isn't that strange, it tastes a lot like beef, but with a more robust flavor and a hint of sweetness." while thinking, 'And that isn't even the strangest meat I have ever eaten, when you live in a version of Earth where Dinosaurs are still alive. Even more so when at the age of 4 you get trained by a green-skinned alien with slug-like characteristics that forces you to survive on your own in a desolate wasteland for some months to build your character and you are a member of another alien race that can eat almost anything that is considered meat... Still, I have to admit that Tyrannosaurus' tail is my favorite kind of meat. Not only is very nutritious but also very tasty too.'

While I'm thinking that, the woman calmly sheathes her katana and then she ties her zombie pets to a nearby tree before she sits on the ground in front of me and says, "Well, I'm the kind of person that trusts her own guts too... and they tell me that you mean no harm."

Shortly after she says that the woman pulls down her hood finally showing her face, and as expected, she is a dark-skinned woman in her mid-30s with long flowing brown dreadlocks and dark brown eyes who looks at me and says, "My name is Michonne. Nice to meet you."

(Image Here - Michonne Hawthorne)

Indeed, she is the Michonne, a survivor of the outbreak in the TV show The Walking Dead, in fact, she was one of the main protagonists of that TV show who gained greater and greater importance the more the show continued and whose story I know quite well, as I did enjoy watching the TV series in my free time.

Following the loss of her boyfriend and son, Michonne withdrew into solitude, perfecting her swordsmanship, and becoming a dark and ruthless warrior.

After the Greene family farm was overrun by zombies, Michonne encountered Andrea and began to open up as the two developed a close friendship while surviving the winter together and eventually, they encountered the Governor and were brought to Woodbury.

Andrea decided to remain at Woodbury while Michonne, sensing that the Governor couldn't be trusted, left and soon encountered Rick Grimes and his group.

Though initially distrustful of each other, Michonne assimilated into the group after bonding with Rick's children, Carl and Judith, she then became a core member of the group, as well as Rick's right-hand woman and eventually, wife.

Rick's group later found the Alexandria Safe Zone, with Rick and Michonne later becoming the leaders where they endured many adversities and tragedies including Carl's death, and built a Coalition with other communities in the area.

Six years after Rick's assumed death, Michonne continued to raise Judith, as well as her and Rick's son R.J..

After making a deal with Virgil to help him get back to his family on a naval base, Michonne went on a mission to bring the Coalition much-needed weapons for the battle against the Whisperers.

Although the weapons were a false lead, Michonne discovered evidence of Rick still being alive and after being convinced by Judith, Michonne embarked on a journey north to find Rick at least that is all I know about her as she never appeared again, at least not while I was watching the TV show in my previous life.

While going over what I know about her in my mind, I also introduce myself back, "Nice to meet you too. I'm Son Goza..." but before I can continue, Michonne interrupts me by calmly asking, "Oh my... Are you kidding me? Aren't you taking your role-play a little too far?"

In response to that question, I simply tilt my head in confusion not understanding what she means by that but soon Michonne, who likely noticed the confusion written all over my face, continues, "It is clear that you are cosplaying as a character from that popular anime called Dragon Ball... I mean, it is pretty obvious with that bright orange gi and all the rest of your attire, even the spiky black hair is spot on. I don't know if this is your way of coping with everything that happened but I don't think it is that healthy to live in an illusion to the point of naming yourself after the main character who as I remember is named Son something too..."

At this point, I finally realized that Dragon Ball anime also exists in this universe and naturally it is also very, very popular so much so that even someone like Michonne knows of it, and because of that, she misunderstood me as someone cosplaying as my father who became delusional or something along those lines in response to having experienced some great trauma during the end of this world.

Realizing that, I quickly wave my hand and try to explain, "No! No! No! You have misunderstood me! Sure I have no problem admitting that my current attire is inspired by the main character of Dragon Ball whose name is Son Goku by the way. But the main reason I wear it is that is only because it is pretty comfortable and durable, moreover, it allows quite a wide range of movements which I find quite essential as I'm actually trained in martial art and do want to feel my range of movement as free as possible. Besides all that, my name is really Son Goza!"

While I'm saying that I can't help but think, 'Luckily everything I just said is mostly true as I'm a terrible liar, something that I inherited from Father who is also terrible a telling a lie... unless the said lie may have something to do with fighting, because while I admit that Father may be socially dumb, he is anything but that when it comes to fighting, something that I experienced many times in my life, after all, no matter what advantages I had until now even with a clearly superior Ki, I was never able to truly defeat him... He and Vegeta truly are a pair of monsters.'

Shortly after thinking that, I continue to calmly chat with Michonne while cooking the coyote's meat but at the same time, I can't stop myself from remembering all the times I thought I had finally surpassed my father and Vegeta only for the two of them to sprint ahead of me shortly after time and time again, it was truly a humbling experience.

(AN: This part is quite long but bear with it as I need it to establish a proper Dragon Ball history altered by the OC's presence as it will be the next stop after completing The Walking Dead arc.)

At first, when I was just reborn, I thought that with the cheats granted to me by being the Legendary Super Saiyan son of Goku and twin brother of the character with the most potential Gohan, I would have easily rushed forward in the path of absolute power leaving my father, brother, and every other character that I loved in the dust.

In addition to that, I also had the advantage of my own foreknowledge of all the most important events thanks to the anime that would have surely helped me in grasping as much advantage as possible.

But despite all that, reality quickly curb-stomped my dreams into pieces, first of all, even if I had a monstrous amount of Ki which easily surpassed everyone else on the planet, my control over it was truly abysmal and because of that I risked exploding shortly after my birth which could have easily destroyed the Earth since I'm pretty sure that my power level was already over 9000, it is only thanks to Kami using his magic to seal most of my Ki into my tail which for some reason is able to easily contain such power, that nothing bad happened.

The seal itself isn't that complicated, it simply gathered 99% of my Ki in my tail so that it doesn't rampage in my body and I could always take it back and use it once I actually gain better control over my Ki.

After that close call, the only thing I could do for the first few years of my life was live like a baby while focusing as much as possible on mastering control over my Ki so that I could safely take control over my sealed Ki, unfortunately without much success on my part.

That is because controlling one's Ki is something already very difficult if one doesn't have the necessary training and while my Saiyan heritage would usually help me in having better control than a regular Earthling, the berserking quality that my Ki naturally has because of my Legendary Super Saiyan mutation makes everything much more difficult to the point that the difficulty level changes from normal to hell.

Just like that, four years passed in peace and the time for Uncle Raditz to make his appearance came, and unfortunately, I was nowhere ready to face him and what had to come and because of that, my presence changed next to nothing.

I and my brother Gohan got kidnapped by Raditz and Dad and Piccolo-san had to face him while I could only watch powerless as I didn't dare to force my Ki to break the seal fearing that the reading of my Power Level from Raditz's bugged scouter would alert the shorty evil emperor making him pay a visit to our planet before we are actually ready to face him.

In the end, everything followed the canon with Gohan snapping and headbutting Raditz creating an opening for Dad to hold him still and for Piccolo-san to finish them off with his Makakosa- Makinkos- Maconk- oh hell his dubbed Special Beam Cannon.

After that, Piccolo-san learned of the eventual arrival of Nappa and Vegeta who are way more powerful than the dead Raditz, so he decided to re-kidnap us to train us to face the upcoming crisis.

Like any good teacher, Piccolo-san decided that the best way to train us was by using the tried and tested method of making us learn how to survive on our own as kids in a desolate wasteland full of dangerous creatures armed with only a Gi similar to that of Father and a sword he materialized through magic, of course, he also made sure to keep me and Gohan separated.

The survival training was hard at first, but if there is something in which the Saiyan race is really blessed is that they thrive in situations where they have to fight for survival, and I have to admit that I made much more progress in the few months that Piccolo-san left me stranded on that desolate wasteland that in all my previous years of training.

Another thing I did during the whole survival training was make sure to never look at the moon as I didn't want to rampage in my Oozaru Form and destroy my planet and more importantly I didn't want to give Piccolo-san a reason to cut my precious tail off.

I finally started to slowly gain control over my very wild Ki and when I was able to fully control 10% of my full Ki, Piccolo came to bring me back and start the true training where he taught us how to sense Ki, fly, fight, launch Ki Blasts and more importantly, to DOOOODGE.

Basically, he taught us all the basics with ruthless efficiency as he is quite the tough trainer, but thanks to that, we improved at a very fast pace to the point where I was able to unleash and control 25% of my full Ki, making me actually slightly more powerful than Piccolo-san.

Not that I WAS actually stronger than Piccolo-san as even if my Ki was slightly more powerful than his, Piccolo still trashed me in pure technique, experience, and physical power as my 5-year-old body and few months of actual training simply couldn't compare with Piccolo's more mature one and years of combat experience.

Soon the time for the Saiyan's arrival came and there I made my very first change to the "known" canon, the change I'm most ashamed of, I was able to save Yamcha from taking his very iconic pose...

For about 10 more seconds, the idiot decided that it was a wise idea to taunt Vegeta and as a result, he ended up striking his most iconic pose for everyone to witness.

Then the battle with Nappa started and during that, the second change caused by my presence happened, Gohan didn't chicken out as much as was able to work together with Piccolo-san, me, and the others who were also still alive.

With our combined effort we were able to knock him out, but that pissed off Vegeta even more who didn't hesitate to start his assault, easily obliterating Tien Shihan and Chiaotzu before he focused on us.

But then Piccolo-san protected us with his body and died shortly after admitting that he enjoyed training with us.

At that point, Piccolo-san's death made both my brother and I snap to the point that in my fury I unleashed 50% full power while Gohan's power massively increased taking Vegeta by surprise which made us land a few good hits that actually hurt him while also destroying his scouter.

But again our young bodies and lack of experience played against us, as Gohan quickly became tired after that explosion of power while I was forced to focus on my Ki control as I felt that in the middle of the battle was quickly increasing in power and because of that my control over it was quickly slipping, something that Vegeta quickly took advantage of to beat us up leaving us within an inch of life even with Krillin-san's support.

Luckily before he could finish his job, Father arrived and saved us but then he was undecided on what to do as there wasn't enough Senzu Beans for us all even if we split them, at that point, I quickly said to give it to Gohan and Krillin as they were in a worse state.

Of course, the real reason, I didn't want the Senzu Bean is because I didn't want to activate my Zenkai Boost yet as I was still trying to bring under control the Ki I have unleashed until now, even more so because thanks to the ferocious battles with Nappa and Vegeta, I was able to raise my overall control to the 50% which was great news.

Shortly after Father gave Krillin-san and Gohan their half Senzu Bean, the first historic battle between Father and Vegeta started which developed more or less like its canon one, at least until Vegeta pulled off his Power Ball technique as in the rush of the fight, I forgot a little detail, Nappa was still alive, because of that, he also transformed into a Oozaru and rejoined the battle.

Seeing Nappa and Vegeta about to gang up on Father, I took a gamble and also looked at the Power Ball and shortly after that, I only heard the loud sound of my heart beating before I blanked out.

When I woke up, I was already in the hospital feeling my whole body sore and everything was already over, luckily I learned from my brother that my gamble paid off as even in my berserk state caused by the Oozaru Transformation, I fully focused on what I instinctively perceived a major threat, Vegeta and Nappa.

Gohan told me that the battle was quite savage but that for a reason I kept getting stronger the more I fought and slowly but surely I started to overwhelm both Nappa and Vegeta giving Father a chance to destroy the Power Ball which in turn made us all transform back to our humanoid form sometime later as the residual effects of the Power Ball kept us transformed even sometime after its destruction.

Since that was my first transformation, I passed out shortly after turning back, meanwhile, Nappa was way too wounded to do anything and Vegeta resumed his fight with my father which in the end, concluded with my father's victory and then, just like the canon, Dad decided to spare both Vegeta and Nappa who then retreated and left the planet using their Space Pods.

After the epic battle with the Saiyans, Krillin commented on the possibility of reviving everyone with another set of Dragon Balls on the planet Namek, Piccolo's home planet as he overheard the conversation between Vegeta and Nappa about the existence of the Namekian Dragon Balls.

With that new information, Bulma quickly started the preparations for the journey but reached a stumbling point as we didn't have any spaceship to make the journey.

It seemed as if all hope was lost until Popo-san appeared and said Kami had told him of a ship that might be able to take us to Namek.

The ship that was used by Kami long ago to escape the cataclysm on Namek only he doesn't quite remember it happening.

Learning of that, Popo-san and Bulma went and checked it out, and they realized that it was, indeed, capable of the trip and returned back to the hospital to tell us the good news.

Krillin-san and Gohan were willing to go despite Chi-Chi not wanting my brother to go but in the end, we were able to convince her and shortly after, Bulma, Gohan, and Krillin set off on a trip to Namek while I calmly remained in the hospital with Father to recover from the damage I received during the battle, knowing that I would be able to go after them with my father, even more so because I could take advantage of the gravity training.

Indeed after some time, Yajirobe-san visited Father in the hospital and gave us a Senzu Bean, instantly healing both of us and restoring our strength.

Father and I then went to Capsule Corporation to find that as expected Dr. Brief had built a special ship from parts of Father's Saiyan Space Pod and that he had also built the anti-gravity machine at Father's request.

Seeing that everything was ready we then took off for Namek to set things straight as King Kai informed us that my brother and our friends were in danger and we hoped to arrive at Namek in six days.

During that period of time, I learned that training with my father is even more brutal than training with Piccolo-san.

Sure, Piccolo-san is a very harsh teacher but Father is simply brutal, not only on his "students" but even more so on himself, I mean who the heck thinks that getting "Kamehamehamed" during high gravity training is a good idea for training?

But despite my initial opinion, I had to admit that father training was indeed effective as not only did I gain enough control to release the seal over my Ki without worrying about damaging myself, but my body also became strong enough to withstand the strain of my full-powered Ki.

Moreover, the constant sparring also helped me gain more and more experience, during the whole training period with my father I could basically feel that we were getting stronger each passing hour.

When we finally arrived on planet Namek, we didn't waste any time and quickly rushed toward Gohan's position as we felt his Ki getting weaker and weaker and once there, we saw Recoome's figure towering over the downed figures of Vegeta, Nappa, Gohan, Krillin.

At that point, Father gave me the small sack of Senzu Beans and told me to give them to everyone while he quickly walked toward Recoome.

I didn't waste any time and gave Gohan, Krillin, Nappa, and Vegeta the remaining Senzu Beans much to the shock of my brother and Krillin as I helped our once-enemy Nappa and Vegeta.

But before I could explain, Father effortlessly defeats Recoome in one blow to the midsection making Gohan, Krillin, Nappa, and Vegeta all marvel at Father's extreme power.

After that, Father and I fought against Burter and Jeice and easily beat them, knocking Burter out but just as I was about to knock out Jeice too, Father stopped me and told Jeice to leave the planet

In response, Jeice decided to take the offer and leave the battlefield, leaving his comrades behind.

At that point, Vegeta and Nappa didn't hesitate to kill Burter by crushing his neck and kill Recoome by blasting him to bits before Vegeta told Father that he was too soft as usual.

Shortly after that, we started to discuss our next moves and Vegeta was concerned that Frieza had made his wish but we reassured him that he hadn't done it yet by explaining how the Dragon Ball usually works.

Then we all sensed that Frieza's Ki was approaching Grand Elder Guru's place, which confirms our suspicions that they do need a password to summon the Namekian Dragon.

While we were talking about that, Captain Ginyu and Jeice arrived and Father told me, Gohan, and Krillin to leave, get the Dragon Radar from Bulma, then find the Dragon Balls while he fights with Ginyu and Jeice with Vegeta and Nappa's help.

While I was flying away with my brother and Krillin, I sensed that the battle against the Ginyu Force was about to start, however, Nappa and Vegeta fleed the scene, leaving Father to fend for himself.

Of course, at that point, I could have easily turned back and helped Father but I decided to allow the events to continue like that for the simple reason that we surely needed the Zenkai Boost that Father would gain after the hateful series of events that would follow soon after because I still had no confidence in facing someone as terrible and feared as Frieza, not in my 5-year-old body which could barely endure the strain of my full power let alone the strain of a possible Legendary Super Saiyan transformation that I'll surely needed to deal with Frieza at that time.

Have a Nice Day, Ciao!
