Jane was hiding behind her menu, peaking at Richard, her date that afternoon when a piece of paper was slid before her with the word "hi" written upon it.
"Hi" Richard spoke up causing her to respond with a nervous hi of her own as she put down her menu. "So what's the story with you?" Richard asked taking advantage of her finally putting down the menu to make conversation.
"Story, why does the have to be a story? There's no story."
"You just spent the first ten minutes looking at a menu that only has three only has three choices on it, it's either chicken vegetarian or fish Jane. There's a story... and I'm thinking the story involves a guy..." "It's complicated" was Jane's reply.
"Is he still around"
"No he..." Jane paused for a moment thinking of the right words to use "...went away" Jane gave a nod believing her choice of words to be an apt description. With a nod Richard began to speak as well talking about his ex, he was cut short however with the appearance of Darcy who walked up to them.
"Oh hi, could we get some wine please" Richard turned to her thinking her to be a waiter, "sure I'd love some" Darcy had a wide grin. "Richard this is Darcy" Jane let out a sigh as she introduced Darcy to Richard before turning her attention to Darcy who was giving her a thumbs up, "what are you doing here?"
Darcy rose a finger telling them to give her a minute as she dragged a chair towards their table which caused Jane's hand to move to massage her temple. Darcy now seated began, "so I showed to work at the lab slash your mom's house, fully expecting you to be moping around in your pajamas, eating ice cream and obsessing about *cough* you know who"
Darcy stopped her self from mentioning Thor's name when she saw the look Jane sent her way, "but you are not, you're wearing lady clothes, you even showered didn't you, you smell good." Jane cut her off before she embarrassed her anymore, "Is there a point to all this, cause the really needs to be a point to all this".
"Right" cleaning her hands on her jacket she moved to remove something from her pocket. "you remember all that scientific equipment you don't use anymore, you might wanna start looking at it again this is the reason we came all the way out here" saying so Darcy handed the device over to Jane who watched the readings with disbelief clear in her eyes.
"It must be malfunctioning" Jane muttered as she continued to stare at the device, "that's what I did" ignoring Darcy Jane began to smack it against the table causing Richard who was watching everything to wonder to himself just what was going on. "I thought you would do something more scientific" Darcy continued as Jane stopped.
"It's probably nothing" Jane spoke as she handed the device back to Darcy before turning to face Richard and flashing him a smile. "It doesn't look like nothing, more like the readings Eric was rambling on about".
"Eric?" Richard's eyes widened a bit at the mention of the name, "our friend Eric he's kinda of banana balls" Darcy signed the international sign for crazy. "He's not interested" "I'm interested" Richard murttered.
"I'm not interested" Jane spoke up trying to get Darcy to leave, "time for you to go now" Darcy gave a smile and a simple okay before returning her chair and leaving the two to their date.
But with the recent events in her head Jane was unable to focus on the date which Richard was able to pick up on, Jane soon left to rush after Darcy after giving an apology.
In the skies above London, the Batwing remained invisible as Batman flew to the location.
Jane Foster's phone had unfortunately brought about nothing but Darcy's on the other hand had been fruitful, a certain conversation with a group of boys allowed for Batman to arrive the location.
Jumping out he landed atop the building, he soon managed to spot the group of boys who were about to the enter the building. Checking on his trackers he was able to confirm Jane Foster and Darcy were still quite a distance away from him, he quickly snuck into the building soon arriving at the spot where the kids dropped stuff in the movie.
Curious, he dropped a pebble and watched it fall until it disappeared before falling from above once again. He caught the pebble and disappeared into the shadows observing the children for a minute before heading off to look for the rift Jane fell into to find the reality stone.
His scanners were soon rendered useless however as being this close continued to mess with his readings, meaning he had to continue his search blind. He was brought out of his thoughts however as he heard the children head out looking outside he saw Jane, Darcy as well as Darcy's intern.
It was at this moment that he realized he had spent quite some time searching for the rift. As he watched them walk in, Batman decided to move on with plan B.
