Chapter 47

"What exactly did you do to her?" Doug said with menacing eyes.

"Wha-what's it to you anyway?" Terminal didn't back off because he didn't like someone questioning him, specially when they are of the same rank in the gang.

"That's my baby sister, you motherfucker..." Doug said as he took out his switchblade and pointed it at Terminal like a teacher scolding his student.

"Wha..." Terminal widened his eyes for a moment, but he narrowed them down again. "How would I know? You know damn well, we don't reveal each other's information." Only Doug's crew who were with him when the Tan siblings had a reunion would have known Doug had a sister.

Doug laughed cold-heartedly. "You're right...but whatever the case may be, you still touched her..." He started walking over to Terminal.

Terminal stood up and pulled out his gun. It made Doug stop from walking towards him.

"Hey, hey, hey..." The guy wearing a clown mask in the same room with them tried to calm both of them down. "We can just talk this out."

"Stay out of it, Chucko." Terminal said.

As they were arguing, they didn't know that there was another man watching them from the start. He entered the room at the time when Terminal did.

Batman listened in on them for information as he hid himself using the cloaking ability of his suit. At the same time, he was also trying to figure out how to rescue Dana and search for the mutant leader without arousing suspicion.

"What's going on here?"

Everyone's heads turned towards the direction where the voice came from. Standing at the door was their boss, Joker.

"It was just a misunderstanding, boss." Chucko waved his hands.

"Oh?" The Joker jumped and landed his behind on the couch. "What is it about?" He grinned.

"We-well..." Chucko scratched his head as he glanced at the other two before giving a brief explanation to Joker.

The Joker gave a deep ominous laugh after he heard the situation. "Why did you stop them?"

Chucko got nervous and sweat started to run down his forehead. "I was worried you'd get mad..."

Joker laughed at his statement with belittling. He wiped the tears in his eyes. "Hahaha...you thought I would get mad. That's funny." Joker waved his hand. "Continue where you left off, you two." He laid his back and took out a pack of nuts from his pocket as he laid his back like he was in a theater.

Terminal looked confused at Joker and was taken aback by his actions...but not Doug. As soon as the Joker gave permission, he lunged at Terminal while he was distracted.

When Terminal looked at Doug, he was already just a feet away from him. He pointed his gun at him but it was too late. Doug's knife cut his hand and made him let go of the gun.

"Urgh!" Terminal groaned in pain as he clutched his hand.

Doug slashed at him again, but his element of surprise was now gone and so he got dodged by Terminal easily as he received a front kick to his gut.

"Oof!"

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" The Joker cackled mercilessly in the background.

Chucko just stood there and watched the two fight like gladiators in an arena with the Joker as the emperor.

"Hey..."

"Huh?" Chucko turned his head towards Joker who called his attention.

"It's more fun if we bet..." Joker grinned. "I'll bet on Doug."

He already had someone he favored before Chucko could agree with his whim. Chucko just nervously asked, "Wha-What are we betting?"

The Joker made a thinking pose as Doug received punches and kicks from Terminal.

"...Do you have food on you?"

Chucko panicked and searched his pockets until he took out a candy bar.

"Perfect!" The Joker chuckled. "I'll give you this if you win." Joker held out the almost empty pack of nuts in his hand.

It was an unfair deal, but he couldn't complain to the Joker. Chucko just nervously nodded and said "okay." before turning towards the fight again.

So far, Terminal looked like he has the advantage in the fight. He's much quicker and stronger than Doug. Chucko glanced at the Joker who was entertaining himself by watching his division leaders fight. He wondered why would the Joker bet on Doug even after seeing Terminal have the advantage.

Then...

"Ha!" Doug scoffed as he caught Terminal's foot. Terminal jerked his leg to try and yank his leg back but Doug had a firm grip on it.

Terminal's sense of time slowed down as he saw Doug's knife being lifted up before going down on his leg.

"URGAAAAA!!!" Terminal screamed in pain.

Chucko was shocked. Even though Doug was a less stellar fighter than Terminal, he took all those hits to trap Terminal.

"Hahahahahaha!!" Joker laughed as they watched Terminal fall down and Doug mounted him with his knife lifted up above Terminal's head.

Terminal had a frightened expression as he crossed his arms in front of him to at least block the fatal attack.

"Stop!"

Doug stopped and looked at where the shout came from.

It was Chucko.

Terminal panted as he felt relieved from avoiding death...but it was far from over.

Chucko turned his head towards the Joker, but a barrel of a gun obstructed his view.

Joker had his head down as pointed the gun towards Chucko. "Who told you you can stop the fight?"

Click

He pulled the trigger. Chucko fell down on his behind, but it wasn't because he got shot. He got scared but he wasn't shot. Only a flag that said "Bang!" came out of the gun.

"If you ever do that again," The Joker grinned at him. "well...you know what I mean." He chuckled as he faced the gladiators again. "Continue!" He shouted.

Doug grinned and Terminal widened his eyes as the blade was above his head again.

Just when Doug was about to plunge his knife on Terminal's throat...

"It's an emergency!-Gahk!"

The man that suddenly entered the room and stopped Doug from killing Terminal was shot dead. It happened so fast that Batman who was ready to save Terminal from Doug was surprised.

Alll of the people in the room turned towards the Joker where the shot came from. He was visibly angry.

"It was just getting to the good part!" The Joker threw his gun at the dead body. Another man that was behind the guy that died shivered in fear and took a step back. He didn't know if he should still tell them about the emergency or not.

"What are you standing there for?" The Joker asked him. "What was so important that you had to disturb us?"

"Th-The mutant gang discovered our hideout and are attacking us right now! They're using lethal methods now! Some of them even had guns!" He managed to eke it out.

"That's too early..." Joker muttered wearing a mysterious smile and then began to chuckle in amusement.

It was part of his plan to reveal their hideout, but it was discovered ahead of schedule.

"Does anyone have any idea how they found out?" The Joker turned to his ranked subordinates then, pointed at the girl who has now gained consciousness. "Does it have something to do with that girl?"

Everyone's eyes turned to Dana Tan who was terrified of the situation she is in.

"...You kidnapped my sister and got followed!" Doug punched Terminal and broke his nose.

"Kahak!" Terminal covered his bleeding nose. "I didn't see anyone following me! I swear!" He said in his defense.

Joker laughed and slowly walked over to him. Sensing this, Doug got off Terminal to make way for Joker. Terminal had tears welling up his eyes as he watched the Joker draw near him.

"...Hey," Joker said with a wide grin.

"P-please! Don't kill me! I'm sorry!" Terminal begged as he laid on his back.

"Shhhh" Joker put his finger to his mouth. "I won't kill you...but you have to do something for me so I can forgive you." He grinned.

"Wha-What is it?" Terminal asked.

"You have to fight them off so we can escape."

"Wha-" Terminal said with a dumbfounded face. He couldn't decline the order or else he would really be killed. His gaze went down in defeat. He has greater chances of survival fighting off the invaders.

"Tell the other division leaders to escape...I'll go ahead. You know where to go..."

With that, the Joker left them.

Terminal got up and went outside like a dead man walking. Everyone in the room watched him as he walked while slumping his head and shoulders.

"You heard our orders..." Doug said to Chucko as soon as they were left in the room. "Knowing J-man, he probably already left."

Other than the ranked members of the group who are escaping, every member, along with Terminal, is going to fight off this new mutant gang that are more dangerous than before.

"What about her?" Chucko asked Doug as he glanced at Dana who is still terrified and shaking.

"...You go ahead. I'll escape with her and take her home."

"...Okay." Chucko said as he went outside while fiddling with his smartwatch as he sent Joker's orders to other ranked members of the Jokerz.

Doug looked at Dana and furrowed his brows. He walked towards her and crouched down as soon as he got near enough. "It's going to be okay now lil' sis." He reached out his hand and stroked her hair to try and calm her down. It seemed to work because Dana's body tremor decreased as he stroked her hair. "How did you end up like this again? Were you with that lousy boyfriend of yours again? I told you that he's no good, didn't I?"

Then, Dana grabbed his hand. "Are you going to take me home?"

"Yeah." Doug grinned.

"...You're not going to at least say hi to mom and dad?"

Doug frowned and didn't answer her.

Dana threw his hand away and got up. "Then don't bother. Just help me get out of here and I'll take myself home." She glared at her brother.

Doug just smiled and sighed as he got up and lead her outside.

Then, Batman deactivated the cloaking function of his suit and revealed himself as soon as he was alone in the room. He made sure that Dana was safe and didn't meddle with the siblings argument. He didn't try to seize Joker either because rescuing Dana and the mutant leader and assuring their safety was the priority. Instead, he flicked a nanotracker towards the Joker ealier when he went towards Terminal to at least keep tabs on him.

Now, his only goal is to rescue the mutant leader. He knows exactly where to look because it's the only place that had a cold heat signature. He is probably detained there.

"Hey!" A member of the Jokerz shouted when he saw Batman come out of the room.

Batman ran as soon as he went outside and took out every member of the Jokerz that comes his way as he headed to the direction of the mutant leader.

He ducked and punched one of them as he kicked another in front of him then, flung himself into the air and did a butterfly kick as another one was incoming.

"Gah!"

"Gugh!"

"Gegh!"

When he got there, he saw Cedric, Don and his division, fighting off the Jokerz as they stood in front of the mutant leader's cell.

Cedric still looked okay, but Don looked like he's exhausted, the same with his subordinates.

Behind them, the mutant leader was in a cage made from a cold storage. He was tied up to a chair. His white hair was dirty with blood and grime. His face had cuts and bruises all over but his eyes were still sharp as he looked ahead with worry and watched his gang rescue him.

When the mutant leader made eye contact with Batman who was coming over, his worried expression turned calm and a smile spread on his face.

Batman plunged into the fight and instantly took out five assailants. His presence quickly tipped the scales in their favor.
