At Last

At fifteen years old, Bruce Wayne lived in his new world for five years. Over these few years, he worked hard. From the modest $100,000 investment he created a technology company that is hot on the heels of megacorporations such as Oscorp Industries, Stark Industries, Pym Technologies, and others.

As a renowned paranoid individual who would never name the company after something from his world such as LexCorp or Wayne Tech. Instead, he named his company D-Tech.

Through savvy investments, aggressive corporate stock purchases, and other methods, Bruce has acquired companies, research groups, and individual researchers to create an innovative technology company.

He has also offered several technologies based on his universe's technology. However, one persistent frustration is that certain elements, metals, and alloys do not exist in this new world.

This has limited his ability to take advantage of many technologies both from Earth and alien civilizations such as Krypton.

One easy-to-produce technology that helped him make a quick fortune was the freezing technology from the various freeze rays from his world. For some reason, his world was filled with freeze rays people invented.

The technology he created based on this was effective for large power systems that needed quick cool-downs or sophisticated cooling systems.

To date, Stark Industries Arc Reactor technology is still the best miniature power system. Batman has superior reactors to Stark's in the database he brought from his Earth, but certain essential materials to create them do not exist.

After running into the same wall of creating his miniature reactor, Bruce finally revisited the semi-mystical machines and technologies of Reed Richards. A man so smart that he could give Brainiac a run for his money.

The cosmic energy that created the Fantastic Four interested him, could he harness such energies to create an engine of his own? The origin of the Fantastic Four reminded Bruce of the brilliant work of Ted Knight, the Original Starman.

Ted Knight created a device called the Cosmic Rod that absorbed and repurposed solar energy to create a variety of uses. Perhaps the cosmic rod could become Bruce's arc reactor.

For more than a year, Bruce has worked on this project investing a huge some of money into it. Today was the day of truth!

Dressed in protective equipment Bruce opened the ceiling of his secret laboratory and fed the abundant solar energy into his Cosmic rod. It was more accurate to call them Cosmic Pins due to their diminutive size.

Ted's technology could only reduce the size of the rods to about the size of a 1.5' long stick. With more than seventy years of technological advancement and a backdrop of millennia worth of ancient alien technology, Bruce had more to inspire and direct him on his course.

The array of Cosmic Pins lit up! Over one hundred pins absorbed the solar energy. The absorption process took hours, but around evening all one hundred pins were charged.

Bruce removed one of the tiny pins from the array and took it to his research lab's new power core. The power core lit up, Bruce switched all of the lab's energy needs from the nuclear reactor to the small cosmic pin. The lights dimmed for a moment, but then everything came online. Full power achieved!

Bruce smiled, after more than a year of work he succeeded. Now, he could move forward with his other plans. Bruce chose another Cosmic Pin and walked to a darker part of the lab. The pin illuminated a nightmarish form, it was his Batman suit for this world.

He opened the chest of the suit and placed the Cosmic Pin into its housing. Bruce smiled and locked the place down. Tonight, he would test the results of his five years of work. He long ago decided to become Batman once more.

This time, however, Batman wouldn't be a force of justice for the streets alone. Now, he would accept a greater responsibility in this world that he never accepted fully in his old world. He would be just a human vigilante, he would become something more, something greater!

Bruce left his laboratory and took a train into New York, his lab was in New York State, but not the city. Entering the city, Bruce saw the huge Oscorp Industries Research Plaza.

"I'll visit you today. Might as well make you my test run for the new Batsuit," Thinking to himself, Batman decided to visit the Research Plaza to get an idea of the place.

He arrived at the Oscorp Industries Research Plaza by mid-morning. It just so happened that today Oscorp was hosting several highest-scoring STEM High School students from the five boroughs and surrounding areas. The students gathered for a tour.

Thinking nothing of it, Bruce put himself on the list. After a few minutes, he walked over to the registration area, showed his ID, and picked up a Guest lanyard for the tour.

Immediately before the group was about to leave, Bruce felt someone clumsily bump into him.

"Oh, excuse me," the young man smiled awkwardly.

"I'm trying to take some photos for the school newspaper," he said.

Bruce smiled and didn't mind it. He was in a great mood today and contrary to his typical anti-social behaviour he introduced himself.

"No problem, I'm Bruce, Bruce Wayne," Bruce offered his hand.

Shaking his hand the awkward teen smiled generously happy to have made a friend, "I'm Peter Parker."
