CHAPTER 21: PARTY LIFE.

MAYA.

PREVIOUSLY ON BOHE!

"We should dance!"

Sasha shouted dragging Eric and I to the dance floor when they started playing 'In Da Club' by 50 Cent and I laughed out loud as Eric being the goofy ass nerd he is started doing the robot dance. And of course i joined in because It'd be weird if I let him do that alone at a party. Sasha looked over at both of us with an amused expression shrugging in a way that indicates she was used to our abnormal and quirky behavior as she joined us in doing the robot dance.

We all bursts into fits of laughter as we danced our merry hearts out on the dance floor without any worries or care in the world and I couldn't help but remember some events from earlier today.

(Two hours ago. Bike racing.)

Even after getting the reply of assurance about our safety just a second ago I just couldn't help but worry as my heart was beating crazily in my chest thinking about all the things that could go wrong if he decides not to keep his words but still I shoved my phone into my cargo pant ripping it along with my thoughts as I got on my bike and waited for the 'go' signal from the starter before taking off into the night.

One thing I know for sure about making such deals with these kinds of people is that no deal is set on stone until both parties meet for pay offs before clients satisfaction can be assessed.

It's actually a risky gamble and somewhat idiotic decision when you think about it because both parties don't have the time to meet before striking such deals and there isn't a hundred percent guarantee that anyone of those parties will hold on to their own part of the bargain by granting a request or make the pay off after a request is granted. Regardless, I'm counting on this particular deal to be a rare case because there's so much at stake here and I'm not even referring to the money.

It wasn't long after we took off riding into the night that I noticed Andrew riding hot on my heals trying to overtake so he could gain as much distance between us as possible and I was snapped back into the reality.

Crap!

I'd been so focused on my thoughts that I almost forgot I still had a race to finish.

I admit this race wasn't about the money. Regardless, I'm not risking my life just to see him win. I don't think he'd be happy knowing I let him win on purpose either. So, I decided tonight will be the end of this long standing debate about who's the better racer between us as I zoomed past him into the night with the smugness of someone who's about to kick ass.

Eat my dust sucker!

I hadn't gotten too far when I almost made a stop thinking it wasn't too late to forfeit the race and call it quits when I got to the entrance of North Side still unsure of what the future holds for us in there when I heard the sound of Andrew's bike getting closer. Knowing he'd go in there regardless of my decision propelled me to make up my mind immediately.

Why does he have to be so strong headed?

Thankfully we did not encounter serious difficulties from the locals as we made it into their territory, apart from the countless road blocks every one and then that made the race unnecessarily complicated than it needed to be. Seems they did that on purpose but we made it out of North Side in once piece and that I can live with.

I can't believe this strong headed idiot almost got us in serious trouble because of a simple race.

I think I'm going to take a break from street racing for a while I concluded when we made it to the finish line and I smirked making a fist bump in the air when I was declared the winner.

Ha!

Take that pervert!

(Back to present)

Honestly I have lost count of the number of amazing songs my friends and I have danced weirdly to at this party tonight or how much booze my friends have in their system at this moment. Thank God we don't need to drive home. I felt my phone vibrate in my cross bag indicating a message as I took it out reading the content.

"Pull up"

Such a simple text yet it holds the same weight as someone's life.

Its better to get this over with after all a deal is a deal I thought tapping Sasha on the shoulder so she knows I'm stepping out to make a call and she mouthed "be careful" as I made my way outside.

"How's it hanging, little lady?" a gruff yet calm hooded figure said stepping out of the shadows when I made it to the parking lot.

"Damn, you're not so little anymore, you got big mama" He said taking off his hoodie and I chuckled.

"And you got old man" I said looking at him and he shrugged.

"Can't argue with that" He replied smiling gently.

For a second it felt like I was having a normal conversation with an old friend and not someone who could make me disappear with a flick of a finger.

"I did good, didn't I?" He added after a while.

"Was the obstacle course necessary?" I asked referring to the road blocks and he smirked.

"Got a reputation to uphold, mama. Besides, wouldn't be the North Side if nothing happens." I guess he's got a point there.

It's already strange that we made it in and out of there without any troubles, a smooth ride would have sold us out.

"Thanks for...you know saving my neck tonight, again" I said sincerely as he confirmed the agreed amount in his account.

"What are friends for?" He said winking at me before disappearing into the shadows the same way he came and I sighed in relief.

Friends huh?

I guess it's better than being enemies.

Heaven knows I wouldn't wanna be on his bad side.

"Didn't know you're into drugs now"

"Huh?"

I asked irritably wondering who would ask such stupid question only to come face to face with the one person I didn't think would be poking their nose in my business.

"Creepy hoodie guy and you in the parking lot of someones party?"she said pointing at where I stood just a moment ago and I scowled "Talk about shady stuff." She smirked like she'd got me figured out.

"It's giving major drug dealing vibes if you ask me"

"That's good because nobody asked you" I replied giving her the stink eye as I walked back into the party without looking back. Just because this bitch is screwing Andrew she thinks she's all that. Well I won't give her one minute of my time.
