Story 11 Great Great Asset Chapter 4

I took another look at the food and then mentally groaned before saying. "We should just stay here for a while, if something comes we can deal with it. But I imagine 'fresh' food isn't going to be that common besides the food I buy from the stuff I sell." 

Mizuhara gave me a measuring look before slowly nodding as she turned back to the food and she said. "Ok. I will cook while you-" I cut her off and said bluntly.

"We do not separate Mizuhara. That is the stupidest thing to do period... I mean in a clearly monster-filled area, are you willing to jump in the shower and be vulnerable to some shadow that comes behind the curtain while you are cleaning up?"

And to my rhetorical question Mizuhara went pale and shuddered before nodding so I sighed and grabbed a chair and sat in it. "Anyway, if we can, we should try to eat a good bit of food before we barricade one of the bedrooms that are upstairs if we are going to catch any sleep here tonight." I spoke as I began messing with my bracelet's internal store to see what kind of powers/boosts/cheats were available.

Looking through the mundane items, it was rather self-explanatory with things like food, drinks, mundane weaponry like modern firearms. And the items were super cheap and often came in bulk. Making it was clear that my fellow Jake's wanted me to snag as many discarded waifus from the Company as possible. To likewise acquire more items tainted with the energy of creation.

Looking over at the items of power my lips twitched seeing as marked as 50% off being Thanos's Infinity Gauntlet... Obviously with no infinity stones though. And costing a whopping fifty thousand credits. 

Of which after gathering the few objects I had seen throughout the day, I had collected earned a grand total of 132 credits.

Obviously meaning that whatever the hell I wanted to buy, wasn't going to be all that powerful.

So I looked over in the Powers section, and cringed at their prices as they were more regimented forms of power like inheriting the powers of a Final Fantasy Mage who had to use Materia or other things to cast magic. Or likewise Harry Potter magic would require me to spend a great amount more points to get a wand, and actual books to manually learn how to cast their magic.

Basically the powers section was just giving me a strong potential with a particular power system of certain universes, so with that said I looked over at the most interesting option being the Cheat's section.

The Cheats section was power sets that promised great possible growth, with at the very top of the list formally declaring that my purchasing of a cheat power was my ultimate goal as I would then be free/encouraged to leave this hell universe as my power could with not much time grow to weaken the seals used to keep the universe in check.

And of course... The prices were balls to the wall utterly bonkers in fucking their rates. [Jee- Han Gamer- 1 million credits] [Super Saiyan Bloodline- 1.5 million credits] [Free Pick from the Essence Catalog- 2 million credits] The list went on, in growth cheats like a Falna from Danmachi that would auto-update with it coming with a growth cheat based on my soul and temperament.

Many different options included less magical options as I also saw for example. [Blacklight Virus/Non-Contagious- 500,000 Credits]

But to put it bluntly I was shit out of luck when it comes for expensive purchases... And further proof that the people who set this up, wanted me to bring roaming parties or something together to funnel their resources into me. As bluntly marked down on the bottom of my shop was a notice that I could bring all the waifus I wanted out of this hell verse when I got too powerful and we would be dropped into a universe of choice.

So with the cheats looked over and firmly deciding that they were a long ways away from possible purchase, I looked to the Gacha and my face twisted as I read its details in how it worked. [Devil Fruit Gatcha!] [4 hours remaining] [5000 Credits]

"Note to self... The Gatcha has a damned theme and they last only a single day before changing themes." I muttered to myself and at my muttering Chizuru who cooking spoke up.

"What happened?" She asked looking away from the pans that were cooking eggs, ham, and even burger patties. As she was cooking up in a large meal that could probably comfortably feed a family of four due to us knowing we were going to hold up for a good while.

I took a breath and answered wryly. "The prices are crazy... Actually do you waifus have a way out of here even?" I asked with some curiosity.

Mizuhara stiffened and then with her back to me she spoke quietly. "Regardless of how much we collect, only the people who are too strong for the seals of this universe are allowed to leave." 

'Ah, another way to stop people from stealing from others. Only the truly strong people can actually get the right to leave and bring their people with them... And she knows as an utterly mundane she has no special bloodline or powersystem to draw from to even give herself powers.' I thought feeling a bit of pity for Mizuhara Chizuru but there wasn't anything I could do for her and others for now.

Either way I scrolled back to the mundane items and after some scrolling I picked up a stock AA-12 with five drum magazines for a total of ten credits. With the shotgun itself being only five credits and each forty round drum mag being a single credit as well

After making the order my bracelet flew off my wrist and formed a pillar of light that drew Mizuhara's gaze and after a couple moments from the center pillar of light that disappeared as my bracelet flew back to my wrist was an AA12 automatic shotgun with a stack of drum magazines with each being filled with Slug rounds for maximum power.

"Well food should be about done." Mizuhara said as she turned back around and I grunted in understanding as I switched the gun's safety on after putting in a magazine and then slipped the gun over my back with the shoulder strap.

We got the food all plated up and we headed upstairs and without a word we both went into the master bedroom with the both of us quickly digging into the food without hesitation. But... 

I looked around in the rather suburban-looking nice master bedroom that had a massive king-sized bed in the center of the room, and I couldn't help the feeling that I was being watched. I had goosebumps raised across my arms and even Mizuhara was looking around uncomfortably as a tense eerie silence filled the bedroom with an oppressing buzz.

From the side, towards the window I heard the sound of the side of the houses gravel crunching and Mizuhara covered her own mouth to prevent herself from shrieking and I quietly got up with my shotgun held in one hand as I dragged the dresser and the two love seats in the room across the room and against the bedroom door to barricade it closed.

"Get some sleep Mizuhara. I will hold a watch for a few hours." I said softly and she looked at me with her brown eyes clearly screaming 'Fuck no!' But I could clearly see how tired she was and after a moment she bit her lip and said quietly.

"Let me get changed then." She whispered and I gave her a funny look as she grabbed a night dress out of the bedroom closet. "Turn around please!" She hissed and I couldn't help but snort at the flush that entered her cheeks as she clearly was unwilling to get dressed in another room away from me. But was also clearly embarrassed at still getting dressed in the same room.
