Wonderful day to get attacked

As much as I wanted to feel at ease, I felt anxious about the fact that Javier and Tessa's mom was threatening us. I know I can protect my Luna and this pack, but the fact that my unborn child is exposed to the threat is disheartening. My Ayumi had been through the pain of losing her family. She might have gone through it and managed to resolve her issues with I. Bearing our child while being attacked by my own pack members and new nemesis is quite alarming.

The instant that Javier and his companion were out of sight roamed my eyes around the area. Caleb who was standing right to the ice barrier, sighed in relief. Although this scenario is arising problem, we are safe for now. Caleb ushered one of the wounded warriors and asked the others to help those who had sustained injury. I turned around at Ayumi stood next to me. Her eyes darted towards the group of rouge that she encountered earlier. I held her hand and squeezed it gently. She then glances at me then smiles; she slightly tilts her head towards the rouges' direction. Signaling me to usher her towards them.

These group were consisted with only kids and a woman who were crouching behind the tree. The woman was shielding the kids with her body and arms. All of them were clearly petrified and covered in dirt and blood. I was about to walk closer to them when we heard the kids sobbing. Ayumi tightened her grip on my hand which made me glance at her. She has this reassuring smile.

Ayumi squatted down to make an eye contact with the woman. She extended her hand and was about to tuck her hair to the side of her face, but the woman winced in fear.

"I am sorry Luna, I am sorry...." She whispered in her voice filled with terror.

I stared at Ayumi with a questioning look. She shook her head, hindering me from interfering. I bit my lip to stop myself from commenting.

"Sssshhh.... Sshhh.... It was not your fault. Can I ask for your name? And where are you from? Ayumi said gently.

"We were instructed to lure the Alpha to your border, those people.... massacred my pack...my family.... oh no my brother." she said while crying. I narrowed my eyes while watching them talking. I can visualize the kind of devastation Ayumi went through when packed. She was worriedly staring at the woman then the children.

"They made a deal to let us go if we can lure your Alpha out. I did not warn you because this kid..." She glances down to the kid she was hiding in her chest. "That woman you have talk to cast a spell on her.... looked..." she leaned slightly to allow Ayumi to see the kid she was holding.

Ayumi abruptly stood up then looked at me. Then she scanned her eyes around, wave at the warrior who stood near us.

"Take this kid to the infirmary. Take them all." Ayumi instructed our warrior.

"Ayumi, we have not screened them yet." I said to her. She stared at me. She looked devastated.

"Devon, just let it slip for now. Allow the healers to take care of them then we will follow the procedure. We might lose this kids life." her voice begging.

"You don't have to beg love." I told her then held her hand. "I trust your instinct." I said then looked around only to find Caleb standing behind me. His eyes darted to the woman sitting on the ground with the rouge kids. He just stood there staring intently at the woman... frozen....

I furrowed my brows. What is wrong with this guy? I looked back at Ayumi who met my eyes then I glared back at Caleb. I smirked when I realized what was happening.

"Caleb? Caleb! Hey? Are you ok?" I asked him pretended that I did not notice anything.

He blinked a couple of times then shook his head and noticed he bit his lips. Seeing him swooning over made me grin. I tapped his shoulder to get his attention. He looked at me and pretended as if nothing had happened. I smirked at his reaction.

"Yes Alpha." Caleb managed to say.

"Your Luna asks you to bring this group to the infirmary? Are you ok? You should get treated? You seem petrified?" I asked him. Tried so hard not to laugh. I squeezed Ayumi hand then signaled Ayumi to look at Caleb who was starting to freeze again while staring at the woman on the ground. Ayumi pouted her lips when she noticed Caleb biting his lower lip. She glanced at me with naughtiness beaming in her eyes.

"Caleb?" I exclaimed at him. Tried to get his attention back. This poor soul.

"Yes Alpha" he again answered which made me smile. He exhaled; he was holding his breath all along. He could not even make eye contact with me. His eyes were all over the place. Making eye contact with him is next to impossible. He looked down then shook his head.

"Caleb, please usher them to the infirmary. And get yourself checked. You look petrified." Ayumi said, pretended to be serious.

"But Luna, I must check the parameters first. Others can Ush...." Caleb started to argue.

"No, you bring them there. Others can check the parameters" Ayumi interrupted.

"But" Caleb tried to insist.

"That is my command." she said then smiled..

Caleb stared at her in an instant his facial expression changed. He knew that we, Ayumi, and I had caught on. He shook his head frantically. I placed my arm around Ayumi's shoulder then ushered her passing Caleb.

"I hope she gives you a hard time!" I whispered the moment that we stood next to Caleb. He looked at us with a questioning look. If eyes can shoot daggers. Ayumi and I could sustain injuries from Caleb's stare. I smirked at him then continued walking towards the direction of our house.

"What a wonderful day to get attacked! I exclaimed. Ayumi gently hit my side with her elbow which made me laugh.

"What?" I looked at Ayumi then say: "This is not the first time being intruded but hey, it is alarming, but I think we can manage." I uttered joyously. Then I looked back at Caleb who was shaking his head.
