Chapter 10
It's been a couple days since Awerkok passed out on Alex's couch, it took quite a lot of convincing on both Alex and Nilesy, but eventually the boys agreed that it would be better if Awerkok stayed at Alex's house for the rest of the week, just until he got better and then he would be allowed to return to his own flat. Alex has been spending most of his days either training or trying to teach the new recruits some basic fighting techniques but he was mostly busy working as part of his father's team, so whenever he could he would visit his friends who also spend most of their time helping out around the office.
Alex had called Connor and asked him what he was planning to do that day so he could go shopping. It turns out that Connor was meeting with some friends and he was planning on asking them for help with his art project, which surprised Alex because usually Connor was rather shy and quiet and didn't really speak to others unless he was forced to or when he was in class.
Connor also told Alex that he could meet up with him after school so they could go together.
Alex's first instinct was to decline but he knew that wouldn't solve anything anyway, so instead he agreed and said he would see him at the park. He had a couple of classes after his usual lunch break to catch up on but that should only take him another hour or two so he had plenty of time to get ready.
After checking his appearance in his mirror he headed downstairs to wait in the living room for Connor.

As soon as she stepped foot outside she immediately spotted her brother sitting underneath the cherry blossom tree. Once he saw her approaching he quickly stood up and greeted her excitedly with a hug.
"Hi Nilesy!" She squealed hugging him back tightly.
"Hey Alex!" He exclaimed happily before returning her hug, once they had pulled apart he asked, "how was your first day back?"
"Great! I met my new classmates, my first classes have started so now I know where everything is."
"Really?! That's great to hear."
"So I take it you're not here to hang out and play games like always?"
"Actually yes I am"
"Why do you look happy then?" Alex questioned raising an eyebrow at him skeptically,
"It's nothing!" Replied Nilesy smiling smugly, "now I know that you and I will have loads of fun" he winked at Alex before heading towards the front door,
"Don't worry I already texted Connor and he said he would be here in 15 minutes" He said as he disappeared inside the house.
"Thank you" She shouted out into the open air, making sure Nilesy heard her, "see you soon!"
She then began making her way towards the park, when she arrived she spotted Connor sitting under the same cherry blossom tree, Alex waved at him and sat next to him.
"Hey Nilesy!" Alex yelled to Nilesy who was standing across the street, "why are you yelling?" He asked.
"Because I'm waving at him, that makes him see us."
"Oh okay"
Alex laughed quietly at Connor's reaction, the other boy slowly turned around and looked at him curiously, Alex was still laughing and he looked like he was holding himself back, he was giggling uncontrollably, he seemed amused.
"Why are you laughing?" He suddenly asked,
"You're funny" She replied as she continued to giggle.
"I'm not!" Exclaimed Connor in embarrassment, "you must have misunderstood me!"
"No! You looked happy!"
"Well I wasn't really..."
"See! Look at your smile!"
"Oh come on, stop embarrassing me! Let's play football!" Shouted Connor getting up from his seat and grabbing Alex's hands pulling her up with him, "let's run away from here! We don't have any homework right now"
"Wait!" Said Alex stopping Connor from running away, she looked around frantically and finally caught sight of something.
"Let's eat ice cream"
"Ok"
The two of them quickly ran into a nearby café and were quickly served a table and started talking to each other excitedly,
"Can you believe we're going to college!?" Said Connor excitedly while pointing in the direction of the large window behind Alex's back,
"Yup, it seems like yesterday we were just kids and now we'll probably end up graduating from high school within the year!"
"What does it feel like being older?"
"Umm it feels really weird at first. But after awhile it feels really good, I mean I'm used to not having anyone else to be there when I wake up every day and I guess now that I'm finally on my own I just feel lonely sometimes and... stuff like that I guess."
"You don't have a lot of family?"
"No, actually I never wanted any, I was raised without parents so growing up I didn't have any friends, well except for Theo, but he kinda lives with me now. My foster parents weren't exactly happy with their situation so when my mom died they just dumped me on Theo and moved away."
"That must have been awful"
"It sucked
