Grace’s POV
The days snuck by and the preparation for the club was going smoothly. Jack didn’t want me to go back there just yet, since the people who did the construction work reported that they were being watched by “guys in black”. Obviously, Cole was keeping an eye on the place in the hopes that someone from my pack would show up so he could question them.
NOT happening!
I wasn’t scared of him finding out where I was – not anymore anyway – but I didn’t want my wolves to be anywhere near him. Not after what he’d done to Jack and threatened Pax. So I had most of my meetings with the construction team over the phone or on facetime.
Not optimal, but it was the lesser of the two evils…
And while all that looked like a pain in the ass, it was nothing compared to the permits we had to get. Apparently serving alcohol is a rather expensive endeavor. And suddenly I understood why drinks cost an arm and a leg.
