Chapter- 23 : A Date?

Elena's POV:-

I am Elena Mizo, second daughter of the Marquis household of Murlin.

I have been recently got engaged with Lord Kai, son of Shen family, Marquis household of Cerulean.

Recently we gave the entrance test of the Royal Magic Academy.

We met again in the practical test two days ago.

After the test that day, I asked Lord Kai for a dat-... I mean an excursion.

I asked Lily and Lord Ian as well so to accompanied us so it would not look like I was asking for a date.

I don't know if what both of them said about being busy is true or not.

Maybe they purposely refused so I can go alone with Lord Kai.

What if he has also realized it?

It makes me really embarrassed thinking about that.

By the way.

Today is the day we decided to go for an excursion around the capital, I am getting ready as Lord Kai will be arriving soon.

Today I am wearing a dress which is a combination of blue and light green.

𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘴.

Though it is not like we are going on a date or anything...

But it doesn't mean I can't please him, yes he is my fiancee so I need to look good in front of him.

"Mylady, the carriage from the Shen family is about to arrive"

My personal maid Maya came to inform me.

Maya has been my personal maid for more than three years, she is a hardworking and dedicated maid.

She should be 18 this year.

I really hope that she can find a good man and settle down before it's too late.

I walked out of my room and saw my mother who was talking to maids.

She is preparing for a tea party because aunt Kira is also coming today.

Both Marquis Shen and my father left the capital yesterday and we will be out for today so mother decided to hold a tea party to kill some time.

Mother will also leave once the classes get started.

My parents told me that I will have to stay in the girl's dorm in the academy because it will be safer than living here in the villa by myself.

Though here is Maya and other servants but they are still unwilling to let me stay here without proper supervision.

I went outside with my mother to welcome Lord Kai and aunt Kira who have just arrived.

Lord Kai is wearing white clothes over a black tunic, his clothes looks formal yet fashionable.

He looks really handsome with his beautiful turquoise blue eyes and always so calm expressions.

"Good morning Elena, this is for you"

Lord Kai said as he gives me a beautiful white flower.

"Thank you Lord Kai"

"Oh! Elena you are looking so pretty in this dress. Don't you think so Kai?"

Aunt Kira asked Lord Kai, I also looked back at him to hear his reply.

"Yes.... you look really beautiful in this dress"

Lord Kai said with a gentle and charming smile.

"Thank you..."

I wanted to say that he is also looking very handsome but the words would not come out.

It was too much for me to say in front of our mothers.

After a while, Lord Kai and I bid bye to our mothers as we headed for the carriage they arrived in.

Obviously we are not going alone, Maya is also accompanying us.

Just when we reached the carriage I saw a familiar face.

"Sir Dalas?"

"Good to see you, Lady Elena and Miss Maya"

Sir Dalas is a knight in the service of Shen family.

He acts as Lord Kai's personal bodyguard on some occasions but today.....I don't know why he is acting as the coachman of their carriage.

"I told him that there is no need for him to come but Dalas insisted that he will act as the coachman"

Lord Kai explained as he led us to the carriage's door.

"Let's get going"

He said as he opened the door of the carriage for me.

I got in the carriage then he gestured for Maya to get in.

"I should not disturb you two, I shall seat at the front box"

Maya suggested to sit at front box which is driver's seat. It is big enough for two people so servants usually sits there.

Oh now I understand why sir Dalas came.

Of course if it were anyone else then I would have not let Maya sit with them there but I think it will be fine if it's sir Dalas.

"Okay"

I told Maya and gestured Lord Kai to get in the carriage.

"I will be in your care"

Maya said to Dalas with a light bow.

Although sir Dalas is acting as a coachman, he is essentially a knight which ranks higher than a normal commoner servant.

"It is my pleasure Miss Maya"

Sir Dalas said as he offered his hand to help Maya get in the sit.

Once all of us set comfortably on our sits, sir Dalas started the carriage

"This guy really... Sorry about it Elena but I should tell you this beforehand"

Lord Kai who was sitting opposite me said in a whisper.

"Actually I think, no I am pretty sure that Dalas has feelings for miss Maya"

"Yes I also noticed that too, and I don't think it's a bad thing, instead I would be happy if two of them can get together"

I told him my honest thoughts.

Since last two years, sir Dalas has been acting as Lord Kai's bodyguard and thus accompanied him whenever he visits our house.

I don't know what led to it but I noticed that he is attracted towards Maya and maybe she herself might has also noticed it.

She isn't as dense as someone here.

But I don't know what Maya thinks about him, she never let her emotions revealed so it's hard to guess what she wants.

"If you and miss Maya are fine with it so I can cease the worry. By the way, I noticed that you are still addressing me with honorific"

He changed the topic.

"Didn't we agree that you will drop 'Lord' in private? Call me Kai only"

Now that he mentioned it. I completely forgot about that.

That was something I came up with before in order to get closer to him.

But now that I think about it.....I feel really embarrassed.

"Umm...Kai..."

"Huh? Sorry I couldn't hear it"
