After a while, Akira was prepared for the operation. Staring at the ceiling, he took a deep breath. The door opened, and Rei entered, holding several hospital gowns.

"Here."

She handed him the clothes and stood by his side.

Akira: "Aren't you gonna ask why?"

Rei: "Oh, I can guess it to be something like what did you do to my coat. I just want to know how and what."

Akira smiled wryly, underestimating her intellect. He noted to show off less in the future to avoid leaking information about his powers to another party. He started upgrading the gowns one by one. Since he had plenty of chakra, he decided to only choose the best one. After going through all of them, he ended up with the best two. Unable to decide which one to choose, he asked for Rei's advice.

Listening to the item descriptions, Rei advised him to wear the first one.

"If it was any other operation, I would have asked you to wear the first one, but in this case, the cells will heal any bleeding that might happen," Rei told him, trying to see any trace of his chakra on the clothes.

"The cells are called white zetsu cells," Akira told her. She looked at him and questioned, "So, is Zetsu a plant or an animal? Where is its habitat?"

She had deep knowledge about the properties of the cell and could make a guess of its origin. Even though she had asked about it several times in the past, this was the first time he told her anything about it.

"Well, I literally can't. It's not important anyway. The important thing is for you to find its uses," Akira answered. The fact that Zetsu was literally a genetically modified foot soldier was not that important anyway. The important things were the genes.

"If you know anything about biology, you will know that literally doesn't make sense," Rei looked at him as if he was an idiot.

Akira could only smile weakly. Of course, he understood that, but he also knew this was the world of comics—the story could only be as smart as the author. Madara literally just stitched Hashirama's cells on his chest; that told him all he needed to know about the properties of the cells.

Rei placed her instruments in front of him, her eyes shining eagerly for him to show his magic. Looking at the scalpels, saws, and scissors, he decided to upgrade them as a set.

Although it was still a big margin of error for surgery according to modern standards, it was still good enough for the time being. Hearing the properties, Rei was impressed and made him promise to upgrade many things for her.

After changing into the hospital gown, he was lying in the operating room. He tried to upgrade the bed, but since he didn't own it, he couldn't. Looking at the lights in the room, he noticed Rei coming in. There were only two of them in the room.

"You still have time. Want to bail out?" Rei asked one last time.

Akira: "Nope. I am ready to get buffed up."

Rei placed her hand on his injured leg and injected anesthesia to numb the pain in the local area. Using her chakra to keep the effect only on the leg, she made a small cut on his skin and placed the small rope made of Zetsu cells. She inserted it into the cut and pushed her chakra to activate it.

The white mass started to join itself with the wound. It grew and sealed the wound. Akira could feel his chakra being drained. Once his chakra was almost depleted, the cells started releasing pure Yang chakra. The chakra caused his leg to regrow. His skin started to turn lighter and lighter. Feeling the overwhelming Yang chakra, Akira readied himself for Rei's signal to release chakra from his tailed beast seal.

"Now!"

Hearing her voice, he released the chakra from the seal. The Yin chakra collided with the Yang chakra. The Yang chakra was weakened by it, but suddenly the cells became more aggressive and produced more Yang chakra. The Yang chakra overwhelmed him. In the next moment, his world turned dark, and he could only hear Rei calling him from afar.

Splash!

Opening his eyes, he saw that he was standing in a large empty room filled with water up to his ankles. He looked at the sky and saw the golden hue. The heat was making him uncomfortable. In front of him, he saw a large alley shrouded in darkness.

Looking at the darkness, he did what any edgy teenager would do and embraced the dark side. Walking down the alley he could not see anything, he could only feel the ground beneath his feet and hear the sound of water splashing.

After walking for a while, he reached the end. There stood his tailed beast, Darkrai. The surrounding walls had braziers glowing blue, but the light only increased the contrast between Darkrai's darkness and the surroundings.

"Let's skip all the talk. I want to save the world and ensure a peaceful future for the people I love. How about it? Are you in?" Akira went straight to the core. When Akira first understood he was in the Naruto world, he always wondered why Naruto's talk could easily change a villain into a hero. He tried talking about a brighter future using passages from his past, but he wasn't able to have the same effect as Naruto did, no matter how hard he tried. That was until he understood the essence of chakra.

For most people, chakra was just energy, but knowing the history, Akira knew it was more than that. It had the power to connect people. It solved the mystery of Naruto's power—Naruto poured his emotions into his chakra, which made the opponents understand him. Understanding each other became the first step to cooperation.

Darkrai looked at Akira, seeing him tell the truth. He floated in front of him and placed his knuckles forward. Seeing this, Akira gave him a fist bump and smiled, "Let's go, Aibo!"

Suddenly opening his eyes, he saw the system notification.

[Skill Last Word activated (4...3...)]

Sensing his urgency, Darkrai released a large amount of chakra. In his mental space, the darkness engulfed even the sky. In the real world, the Yang chakra was neutralized by Darkrai's chakra. The cells receded until they could no longer recede and eventually ceased to exist.

"How do you feel?" Rei looked at him, eagerly waiting for his response.

Akira sat up directly. He felt his body full of energy like never before and said, "Better than ever."

"Lay back down on the bed." She pushed him back down and continued, "Your cells are now changed and producing high-quality Yang chakra, making your body full of energy. You will now have higher strength and you will heal way faster. But you also have to keep supplying Yin energy if you don't want to go mental. Okay?"

She poked his newly grown leg, "Do you feel it?"

"Yes."

"Faster than before, maybe. Increased immunity against anesthesia. Try to move your feet."

He easily did it.

"Primary motor functions, okay."

She touched his skin and said, "Skin whitening and softness increase."

"Your body seems fine. Do you feel ready for more tests?"

"Yes," Akira nodded, eager to test the limits of his newfound power.
