Basilica was a great kingdom with nearly a millennium of history. Founded through the alliance of seven lords who fought to unify the entire southeastern region of the continent, this kingdom was prosperous and almost impregnable despite its vast extent.

Initially, the kingdom was to be governed by a senate composed of each patriarch from the seven founding families. But Artios Basilian I, with the support of Bellius Deucalion, had a different idea.

—I will be king — declared Artios, with a decisive voice.

At that moment, the other five patriarchs stared at him. Disbelief was evident on each of their faces. They had just gone through a twelve-year war to unify all the regions into a single kingdom, and there were still corpses on the battlefield. They did not want to believe what they were hearing.

Observing his allies, Artios smiled with the same smile that had made them cooperate with him to implement the unification plan.
