The good news

Inside the Root headquarter, a root Anbu could be seen dutifully report something to a suspicious-looking old man. The old man was Danzo and the Anbu was reporting to him the events pertaining to Athena's arrival.

"..and when I checked with the sensor ninja she only has chakra level slightly superior to a civil person. I don't think she has received any ninja training. " the Anbu ninja said, ending his report.

After hearing the ninja report, from the way Athena was found in front of the gate to the story she told to Oyone and finally the Anbu personal evaluation of the target, Danzo has a pondering expression on his face and after thinking for a bit answered the Anbu.

"Hiruzen will always be a fool. Even if there is only a slight chance for the girl to be a danger to Konoha, she should be removed without hesitation. However, I think he is right, using a civilian as a spy is useless. But we can't be sure with Kabuto's example. Keep an eye on her and report if she tries anything funny. You are dismissed."

Meanwhile, Oyone rushed back to the hospital to quickly tell the good news to Athena. Entering Athena's room, Oyone saw her sitting silently on the bed with a scowl on her face.

" What's happening, Athena? " Oyone asked, worried for Athena.

"The food." Athena said crisply.

"Haha, Haha, sorry, sorry, my bad, don't worry just bear with it for a little while. You will be discharged soon and you would be able to eat whatever you want." Oyone said, amused by Athena's behavior.

Hearing Oyone answer, Athena's mood brightened but it didn't last long as she seemed to recall something that dampened her mood. Oyone that was looking at her noticed the weird mood change of Athena.

Reaching her hand out she lightly stroked the long black hair of Athena. " Is there a problem? Why did it look like you are not happy to be discharged?" Oyone asked.

" It's not that I am not happy. But I don't have any idea of what I should do or where I should go after leaving the hospital. I am scared Oyone nee-san. " Athena squeezed out, Oyone being barely able to hear what she said.

"Don't worry Athena, you would be able to stay in Konoha after leaving the hospital. I would take good care of you." Oyone said as she hugged Athena.

" Really? " Athena asked with a hint of disbelief in her voice.

"Yes, it's true. Don't worry, you won't be alone." Oyone said as she continued to stroked the hair of Athena that has started sobbing in her arms.

"Say, why is Oyone nee-san so kind with me?" Athena suddenly asked, throwing Oyone off with her abrupt question.

' Here we are getting all emotional because you could stay in Konoha and you suddenly asked such a thing. Why did you even think of such a thing now?' Oyone thought as she didn't even know how to answer her.

"Because all adults should be kind to children." Oyone said hesitantly, telling the first thing she could think of.

"But earlier, when you went out, the aunty that took care of me wasn't that kind. And also when I traveled with my mother I met many big people that were mean with me." Athena said as she looked doubtfully at Oyone.

After an awkward silence, Oyone sighed and answered Athena. " Honestly you remind me of my sister. While you may not look exactly like her, your voice is just like hers, the same smart glint that you have in your eyes could be found in hers too and you also have the same body stature. Just now, the way you acted when you were displeased look so much like her. Unfortunately, she isn't here anymore or I'm sure you would have get along well."

" I….I…I'm sorry nee-san I was not trying to make you remember bad memories. I shouldn't have asked such a thing. I should have just been content with the fact that you are kind to me." Athena said.

"Don't worry it's fine, it was all in the past. If you are truly sorry maybe you could live with me once you are out." Oyone replied and looked intently at Athena, waiting for her answer.

'Hah, wow that's a jackpot. It seems that acting the nice and shy girl paid off. With this, the problem of settling in Konoha is solved. I just hope that Oyone doesn't get too attached to this persona.' Athena thought.

 While she knew that she could probably venture through the ninja world on her own, it was better if she had a haven and something to rely on right now since the current situation was akin to a first time for her. Also by sticking with Konoha even if the timeline changed due to her actions, she would still have an idea of what foes awaited her. But if she just traveled around randomly she never knew what may fall on her head. Better be safe than sorry.

" I would be more than glad if I could live with nee-san, but are you sure you are fine with this. I don't want to bother you more." Athena said.

"No don't worry it's fine. Don't ask such things again, I thought you were going to apologize. Why are asking more silly questions? " Oyone said as she looked at Athena with a kind smile.

"Yes, nee-san. I won't ask such questions anymore."

"That's more like it. Now, rest. If everything went well you'll be able to get discharged in two days. I'll come to visit you later." Oyone said as she stands up and went out of the room with light steps, her mood great.

Looking at the door that Oyone just went through, Athena couldn't help but mutter "Yes, she is hooked by this persona. Look like I'm too talented for my own good. Those acting class father made me take were not worthless in the end. Sigh, It's going to be a little annoying if I start behaving differently. "

"Anyway let's forget that for now, we are not there right now, and I am not going to spend all my time with her,  I could continue to act like this when I'm with her for all I care. I'll see to it when the time comes."

Afterward, Athena stands from the bed and start stretching lightly. From the ease and fluidity of her move, it was obvious that she has already healed completely from her previous wounds. Even though most of the wounds were light ones, it was impressive that an untrained person like her could recover so fast.

In fact, her impressive recovery was just one of the many effects of the cheats the voice granted her. Yes, while Oyone was away, Athena didn't waste her time and checked each of the cheats the voice gave her, and to say she was impressed by what she saw would be an understatement.

"Hais, giving me all that. If not for the fact that I had to train myself, all that would have been damn perfect." After saying those words, she stopped her stretching and went to lie on the bed once again. Closing her eyes, she exhaled lightly and when she opened them she was in a completely different place.
