Doomsday

Kathlyn:

"Cadet Duska, reporting for duty!"

"Mhm..."

With a 'mhm' he checked my name and moved onto the next person. Today is the expected day, their arrival day.

One year ago the dragon that shadowed the stars appeared and announced how we will enter a war without our consent and how we should be ready. He revealed to us a new power, magic, which in turn allowed us to awaken. And how we will have to choose our own fate soon enough, choosing to form an alliance with one of The Four Great Races.

I know that monster didn't tell us the whole story or even the correct story but here we are. The teleportation gates he talked about are real, at least, large gates, but not big enough to fit that draconic form, so one can assume they will take another form to reach us. Big, stoned gates with inscriptions from top to bottom, unreadable to us.

A group of radicals tried to destroy the gates but to no avail, we could not touch them, a protective barrier was made and we were simply not strong enough to do so. We were not strong then and we're not strong now.

One look at a cadet's face can tell you how ready and determined they are, how ready we are. On the surface that's how it seems, but I know that deep inside we're all terrified, we can't take the words they said for granted, if someone comes and just decides to kill everyone in sight that's where it ends... But it won't.

Following the incidents from a month prior I was allowed to continue my training and I was assigned to a special task force. I'm here today on orders. We MUST make a good impression.

Adonai has succeeded with his plan of being a nobody, they asked him, and I quote 'What kind of race are you boy, your mana signals are so weak they are barely visible.'. Back then I made a joke about it, but today's not the time to remember it.

Stella more or less faced a similar response, while her magic was more unique she is just too scared and emotionally weak to be able to handle the military.

Maverick got accepted and entered into a physically intensive training camp, while also focusing on developing his magic.

*Gulp*

Only minor sounds are audible right now, the tension is so dense, you can almost cut it, they are not knowing what to expect, not knowing what will happen. The fear of the unknown is one of the greatest fears known to humankind after all. But I can keep my composure, I casted my usual attitude aside for this key moment.

And after waiting in this insufferable silence a ray of light started to appear from within the cold stone of the portal, the dim light that expanded into a myriad of colors settling into a blue dusk with a stellar pattern inside.

"Everyone take a step back!"

A man of a higher rank shouted, but now no one could discern what rank or who it was, we just did as told. And soon after, five figures emerged from the portal.

Not even taking a moment to look at us, one out of the two women present snapped her finger and they were gone.

That was our brief encounter with the high races... But why are there five people? And where did they go?

Adonai:

As a mere human I'm requested to stay at home today and watch the news to see what's going on, unlike my dear friend, Kath, and my other dear friend, Maverick, who needed to attend, I'm here, with Stella, waiting.

Kathlyn's attitude has been a bit off since one month ago, but I guess it's expected, her goal was right in front of her eyes and now she has to take this more seriously than ever.

Why is she fixated on this thing? I can't tell, but she must have her own reasons and it's not my place to pry.

"Do you think they came by now?" Stella asked.

"If they did I assume we would've heard something, or feel something, so maybe not?"

"You might be right."

Stella's situation has been going back and forth from bad to good, to bad, and now to relatively good again, so that's a relief at least.

Watching and waiting, even without having big implications in whatever will go down, is nerve wrecking. Because my friends are there. If only something would happen sooner.

Seemingly as a response to my thoughts the perspective shifted, now, I'm floating high in the air, with no one surrounding me, looking down to a podium where five strangely looking figures were present with the presidents of the continents.

A dose of adrenaline rushed through me for whatever reason, shocked but not surprised at the scenery before me.

"I guess the negotiations started." I said seemingly to no one.

With nothing better to do I looked down and started taking notes of the figures I'll probably never see again. Based on their appearance it's quite easy to guess who's who. Even taking human form they can't hide their distinct features, and I assume that's something for all races out there.

Human form seems to be convenient. Truth to be told, when I saw the size of the gates I didn't expect to see them in their real forms.

Angel Lord - Eight Pure White Wings emanating from his back, brown short hair, white halo hovering above their head, and full white eyes with a golden circle inside them. Wearing a full white robe with no inscriptions or anything on it, just a pure white with golden touches robe.

Demon Lord - Seductive, almost no clothing, woman in appearance, a red halo hovering above their head, no set of wings, no tails, but a pair of horns rising from their forehead. Full red eyes with a black circle inside them.

Dragon Lord - His presence could reach me in this space, which seems to be isolated form the outside world, giving me an urge to kneel. Turquoise cat like eyes, normal eyes compared to the other two, white skin, with long white hair. The so white skin was modeled with shapes of scales, almost like imprints on the skin, the shapes glowing a faint green color. Wearing, like the Angel Lord, just a white robe but with draconic drawings on it, subtle, yet royal. Their looks almost make them look like women.

Leviathan Lord (I assume) - Woman, wearing military armor, nothing royal, long ocean blue hair, one that looks like a cascade falling from the top of her head instead of actual hair, nothing much could be seen from her because of the armor. Eyes abnormal, not even close to humans, they looked like the depths of the ocean itself.

But who can the other person be, tall, dark hair, wearing a normal, plain suit, from the build you can tell he's a man, his eyes are hidden under the shade of a hat so I can't quite see it.

"Listen, humans."

The voice came from all around me, it was clear, full with authority and surprisingly soothing.

"I'm Adam, the Angel Lord, you find yourself right now in an isolated space, one created for each one of you. It can be considered as your little pocket dimension, courtesy of Leviathan Lord Varuna."

...

Adam is the Angel Lord? I always assumed it's Jesus or something, then the woman on the other side is Lilith? I thought to myself.

"I'm sure you're all confused, but we will explain, since things are moving rather slow, I'll speed up the pacing. I'm Eve, the Demon Lord, the name you just heard before, Varuna, she's the Leviathan Lord, and the grumpy youngster present with us is Baldur, the Dragon Lord."

The woman interjected Adam, stopping him, and giving us a rather short introduction.

"The other man you see with us is Ragnarok and he ... where is he?"

The man she was supposedly pointing at is not present anymore, I haven't noticed when he left either and by the other lords expression, I assume they didn't either.

"Well that aside, since you're the last planet, we came in person, we want to hear your thoughts on this matter, and we will work towards a common goal, to assure the satisfaction of both parties..."

Eve stopped suddenly, it feels like she remembered that's the end of her part in the script, and stepped back.

"Ahem ..." Baldur started talking "As Eve said, we want to work with you, and we will do our best to support each other, no matter which race you will choose to go with, I can assure we're all capable ... now if Varuna would please assist me in conveying the next message on an universal scale."

The woman named Varuna nodded and stepped further into the podium. Her hand started emanating an ominous aura as she seemed to have passed it onto the Dragon Lord.

"Thank you... now listen... everyone in the universe will be hearing this message, right now, we're here on Earth, after we leave and make the announcement regarding their status, this planet will be open for visits, and more importantly in a year from the announcement day we will be starting the proper war. The time for slumbering is almost done, the time for slaughtering will be up. What our dear people here will choose is up to them, and do not act harshly before the time comes. I'm not speaking to my kin, or my allies, I'm speaking to all of you here, this was a common decision made by us and the Ten Sephirots. Thank you."

After what seemed like an interstellar broadcast, Baldur started moving aside, leaving only Varuna on the stage.

Her mouth opened in a strange way, unlike the rest of them her mouth opened up to the ears, a split mouth with shark-like rows of teeth.

"Everything that needed to be said was said, my purpose as of right now is to show you what we're capable of. A small fraction of our power, in order, we hope, for you to understand your status and to do an evaluation beside ours, then take the most correct approach. Now if you would all please look up you'll be able to see ... a black hole."

After hearing her words I moved my eyes upwards and I saw it, next to our sun, no ... behind our sun is a black hole, one that is bigger, at least 5 times bigger than the sun, yet strangely enough it doesn't consume anything, it is just there. An illusion?

"I know what you might be thinking, but no, this is not an illusion, this black hole was created by me, and it's held into a separate dimension created also by me, I can allow you to see it, but it won't do any harm."

As she finished the sentence, the black hole shrank until it was smaller than a human hand, and then it appeared in the palm of the Leviathan Lord hand ... and she swallowed it.

"Delicious..." She said while licking her lips. "Now I'm gonna return everyone to your places, the broadcast is done, and we have business to attend to. As for the military, I've seen you, you're dismissed, wait for your superior orders, and until then enjoy your leisure time. I can guarantee that as long as we're here, your planet is safe and no incidents should occur under our watch."

After she said that I returned into the room I was in before, with a shaking Stella beside me and a fear taking deep rots inside my heart.
