The first meeting

Adam stood in line at his favorite coffee shop, scrolling through his phone absentmindedly. He was lost in thought, trying to figure out what was missing from his life. His job as a software engineer paid well and kept him busy, but he felt unfulfilled and bored.

He looked up when he heard someone clear their throat behind him. He turned to see a tall, lean man with long, jet-black hair and a warm smile. "Sorry to interrupt," the man said, "but I couldn't help noticing your phone case. Is that a picture of your dog?"

Adam looked down at his phone and smiled. "Yeah, that's my pup, Max. He's a German Shepherd. What about you? Do you have any pets?"

The man's eyes lit up. "Actually, I'm an animal rights activist. I have a few cats and a dog that I rescued from a shelter. They're my life."

Adam was intrigued. He had never met anyone so passionate about animal rights before. "That's amazing," he said. "What kind of work do you do?"

The man introduced himself as Yui, and explained that he worked for a local animal shelter and volunteered his time to rescue animals from abusive situations. Adam was impressed by Yui's dedication and compassion.

They ordered their drinks and sat down at a table by the window. They talked for hours, about everything from their favorite books and movies to their deepest fears and dreams. Adam felt a connection with Yui that he had never felt before. He was drawn to Yui's warmth and energy, and he couldn't help but feel that fate had brought them together.

As they said their goodbyes, Yui slipped a piece of paper with his phone number into Adam's hand. "Call me if you ever want to hang out again," he said, flashing a smile that made Adam's heart skip a beat.

Adam walked home that day feeling lighter and happier than he had in a long time. He knew that he wanted to see Yui again, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held.

Over the next few weeks, Adam and Yui saw each other often. They went on walks in the park, explored the city's museums and art galleries, and tried out new restaurants. They talked about everything under the sun, and Adam felt like he had finally found someone who understood him.

One day, as they were sitting on a park bench, Yui took Adam's hand and looked him in the eye. "Adam, I have to tell you something," he said softly. "I'm gay."

Adam felt a jolt of surprise, but he quickly realized that Yui's sexuality didn't change how he felt about him. "That's okay," he said, smiling. "I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to tell me."

Yui looked relieved. "I was worried that it would change things between us," he said.

Adam shook his head. "No, it doesn't. I really like you, Yui. I don't care about your sexuality. I care about you."

Yui's eyes shone with emotion. "I really like you too, Adam. You're special to me."

From that moment on, Adam and Yui's relationship deepened. They became inseparable, spending as much time together as possible. Adam felt like he had finally found what he had been searching for all along – someone to love and be loved by. And it all started with a chance encounter at a coffee shop.
