Roommate

Since Daniel and co. were passing by the train station at a time where a school period has just ended, it was only natural that there were many students walking about heading to their next destinations. However, now that class has started, Daniel found the entire street to be empty as he and his company walked from the student center to Building D.

Since there's now an identification tag within Daniel's body, they were simply allowed inside the entrance of Building D, its automatic doors opening for the three of them as they arrived.

While walking through the corridor, Daniel found a few function rooms and a canteen located on either side before they finally arrived at the elevators located at the very end of the hallway.

After entering the elevator, David directly inputted their destination through contacting Minerva with his biochip, allowing for the AI to directly send them to the 23rd floor.

Except for the façade of the floor being entirely made of bulletproof glass, allowing for students to take a look at the magnificent view of the landscape outside every time they leave the room, the dormitory building itself is designed quite ordinarily.

Directly next to the elevators are the common room and laundry room, where people from the same floor can interact with each other if they choose to do so.

Passing through the two rooms that could be seen through the large windows from the hallway, Daniel finally saw something that is reminiscent to the hallways of the hotels that he's visited before while on vacation with Uncle Eric.

With either side having their room number displayed and a magnetic key lock serving as the doorknob to the entrance of one's room, except for the obviously less opulent design of the dormitory compared to hotels, one cannot find much of a difference between the two.

Since Building D is shaped like a cylinder, Daniel wasn't able to see the original scenery after walking on the curved hallway for awhile. Though, after passing by around 10 rooms, Daniel finally arrived at his designated dorm room.

Without knocking on the door, Daniel directly scanned his wrist against the magnetic doorknob and opened it without even knocking, not realizing that the room is already occupied within.

It seems that Daniel has forgotten that he seemed to have a roommate as well.

Coincidentally, the stranger whom Daniel assumed to be his roommate came out from the bathroom completely naked safe for a loose towel covering his private parts around his waist at the same time.

Immediately being thrusted with an unknown occasion, Daniel couldn't help but feel slightly awkward and embarrassed at the same time, completely not knowing what to say.

However, the man before him simply acted as though nothing had happened and directly walked towards Daniel's side, reaching towards his wardrobe located there without even feeling an ounce of awkwardness.

Subconsciously smelling the man's shampoo and noticing the perfectly sculpted muscles on the man's body, Daniel couldn't help but compare himself towards him, looking towards his own fully clothed body, only to find that he himself is much more lackluster compared to the almost naked man.

With the steam still lingering in the air, the water droplets slowly dripping down the man's muscular back made Daniel feel a tinge of jealousy.

It was also at this time that he could feel a slight resonance from within his soul. Though, the feeling only lingered for less than a second before leaving again, making it as though the feeling had just been an illusion.

"System, is there an adamantine shard inside the man before me? I could faintly feel the familiar resonation just now…" Daniel instantly revealed his doubts to the system inside his head.

[I think he should be normal, Master. If that guy has adamantine within him, your Assassin System would have directly activated and gave you a mission by now.]

Even though Daniel felt that this was true, he still couldn't help but be a little suspicious within his heart.

However, this was not the time to continue with his daydreaming as David managed to barge into the room from behind Daniel and immediately took up the mantle as the icebreaker between his roommate and him as he spoke in a cheerful tone, "Great! What a coincidence! It seems that your roommate is also a person who just transferred to our school recently."

David grinned as he patted on Daniel's back with a reassuring smile. "This here is 666, someone the academy directly scouted from the Far East."

It was only at this time that the man being introduced turned around to face him again, but this time with his underwear in hand. He seem to have no qualms letting other strangers see his private stuff as he simply lowered his hand holding the underwear and nodded towards David and Daniel before stating in a deep, emotionless tone, "Greetings. My designation is 666. Nice to meet you."

With water droplets still dripping down his 8-pack abs, 666 spoke naturally like nothing is wrong with his behavior.

"Um… good to meet you too. My name is Daniel." Daniel spoke awkwardly as he subconsciously gave 666 another scrutinizing look only to feel his own self-esteem lower again. After a moment of awkwardness where no one spoke after their brief introductions, Daniel finally couldn't handle the atmosphere anymore and blurted out,

"So… are you in the military, 666? Your scars…" Daniel hesitated mid sentence, not knowing if this is a sensitive topic to the person he just met a while ago.

From the different scars criss-crossing around 666's entire body in a savage manner, and the fact that he only used his designation to introduce himself, Daniel thought that 666 might be one of those rumored biomechanical units operated by the Federation military, basically human-like vessels without a soul, with their memories completely wiped to ensure their obedience.

666 simply replied to Daniel in a blunt manner, stating in a manner as though he had given a similar explanation many times before.

"I work as a part-time consultant for the Omicron Force." 666 explained. "I've been a little unfortunate and had gone through a few mishaps while in space at the time."

Daniel nodded, knowing that 666 can only give such a barebones explanation since the rest must have been classified by the military.

Seeing that the both of them started warming up to each other, David gave a meaningful look at 666 outside of Daniel's field of vision before smiling again as he spoke, "Well, I'll leave you two alone so you can get to know each other better. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to DM me!"

With that said, David left the dorm room, bringing the admissions officer along, who had been standing outside by the hallway the entire time.

After hearing the door shut behind him, Daniel moved towards what he assumed to be his side of the room, since the left's bed already have a wrinkled bedsheet while its desk already has a few holographic monitors placed in the corner.

After locking the door, 666 finally removed his remaining piece of clothing as Daniel subconsciously looked away. As the former started wearing his boxer-briefs, Daniel couldn't help but comment, "Can't you change in the bathroom? Do you really have to stand around naked in front of me?"

In response, 666 raised an eyebrow and gave an emotionless reply, "Why should I? We're both men, so there wouldn't be any problems, would there? Also, it's inefficient for me to walk back to the washroom just to get a change of clothes again."

Daniel rolled his eyes, obviously cursing the fact that this dense roommate of his obviously does not know what it means to give each other personal space. Nor could he day that each time the other faces him, Daniel would have his ego attacked. It wouldn't take long for Daniel to get K.O.ed by 666 merely from standing there.

Luckily, it took literally a few seconds for 666 to put on his clothes again. When Daniel turned around and saw the other wearing a casual synthetic t-shirt and long sports pants, Daniel subconsciously heaved a sigh of relief. 666, whose face looked as though it was frozen the entire time, continued to stay as it was even as he said, "Don't worry, I don't have a preference when it comes to sexual partners."

Daniel immediately reacted, fuming as he gave an instant retort, "That's not what I meant! How did you come up with that idea when all I've tried to say is that you should keep a better notion of privacy when in front of a stranger for the first time!"

It is actually quite rare for Daniel to get angry, but facing such a dense individual right in front of him, Daniel could not help but want to punch the other right in the face! The only thing keeping him from doing it right now is his reason.
