-CHAPTER 4-

As I follow Konan upstairs.

I can't believe there are stairs in this dungeon.

I began to see a bright light hit my face. My view became clearer, and I saw what seems to be the inside of a castle.

"You own a castle?!" My dropped.

Do all castles have dungeon beneath them?

The floor was a shiny marble with gold designs and the ceiling was so tall that the chandeliers are huge. The windows were big as well with white silk curtains.

There's a beautiful view of the outside.

The castle contained many hallways and many doors. But what was eerie was that there was no one among these halls. Every step we took was so silent. It was a bit depressing, but the view makes up for it.

"I've had this place for hundreds of years. It's still in perfect shape." He answered.

Hundreds of years?! How? Oh, right.

"If you don't mind me asking, how did you become immortal?"

I wonder why anybody would want to be immortal, it's a horrible fate.

"You're a curious kitten, aren't you?" He chuckled.

"Of course, I am. You're the reason I went to that tavern last night."

"Me? And what did you see in me that caught your attention?" He smirked.

"Don't give me that look. Answer or don't answer." I grumbled.

"Why do you want to know?" He asked.

It could be interesting.

"Well, I'm not really expecting an answer. I'm just nosy."

"Haha. You are the most honest person I've set my eyes on." He laughed.

Laugh all you want. I'm only doing you a favor because it benefits me.

"Yeah, yeah. So, when do you want your crystal?"

It takes time to get to Narron especially since there are groups who prevent people from entering. It's not difficult to avoid but the hard part is entering Narron. There are a few layers in Narron you must clear.

There are 4 layers, the outskirts, the trap zone, the death zone and the safe zone.

The outskirts are home to a lot of people, and it has now become a small town where people come to prepare themselves for entering Narron. But because it's a small-town people often don't allow people to enter unless you pay a hefty amount of money but thankfully, I live there so it's not a problem. You can say the outskirts is a safe zone, but I'd be lying. Because, Narron is coveted by many, it has also become a dangerous place to live since many believe that those who are living there are the protectors of the magical place. Which is why I want to get there as soon as possible.

The trap zone is where many people get lost. It's also swarming with magical beasts that play tricks on you. They like to get in your head causing you to lose sight of direction. The beasts there are tricksters, they like to play with any living creature until their last dying breath. The terrain in the trap zone is full of mazes and trap created by these beasts. None of these traps are deadly, it's more like eternal. It's a literal trap zone. No one gets out of there.

Then, there's the death zone.

The death zone is basically your grave. The place is swarming with deadly beasts and poisonous plants. The terrain is much simpler but that is what is deadly. If you were to survive the trap zone you will be very cautious and overthink things which will end up getting you killed. The beasts there are all about camouflage they blend with their surroundings which is very dangerous, the plants are usually all mistaken as a beautiful flower but the more beautiful the flower the more poisonous. Same with the beasts, the friendlier they look the more dangerous. It's all just a game for these beasts. This is why many people die in this zone. But, if you're able to get through all of that alive, you get to go into the safe zone.

The safe zone is, well safe. It's the place where I have to go in order to get the mana crystal.

"I thought about it and I'm coming with you."

Huh?

"Why?" I asked.

"So, you won't go running off." He grinned.

Me? Running off? Hah, I never run without paying my debt.

"Alright, we are here." He opened a black door."

Woah, there is such a place like this.

As I entered the room, I saw what I like to call heaven. So many weapons of different size and color. Some have man imbued in them. But something caught my eye.

"You have the Dragon sword?!" I have never seen this sword in person, I've only ever heard of it from stories.

"I'm surprised you even about it."

"Everybody knows about it." I looked at the sword. It's a pitch-black blade, almost frightening, and the hilt is a crimson red. But a unique trait about it is that the sword is that it's made entirely out of dragon bones and a dragon heart.

I want it.

As I was about to touch the sword, Konan stopped me.

"It's not such a wise idea to touch it." He put on a pair of gloves and grabbed the sword to turn it around. On the blade show a yellow carving written in draconic.

'Blood is power, and power is blood.'

"Do you know what it says?" I asked.

Konan looked at me, "Do you?"

"No."

...yes.

I learned every language there was to ever exist. It's what my guardian told me to do, so of course I know draconic.

Konan looked at me and sighed, " Okay then just take anything you want that'll help you."

"Wait. Do I get to keep it afterwards?" I spoke expecting for his answer to be yes.

He gave me a baffled look.

"Uh, sure."

"Nice!" I began to look around until I found a small item.

It was a small cylinder stick.

It's heavy for its size.

"You don't want to grab something else? That thing isn't a weapon, it's just a piece a junk."

I swear I've seen these before.

The design on the cylinder stick was a sea green with a silver pattern.

Oh, what's this?

There was a button on the side of the cylindrical stick.

I looked at the top of the cylindrical stick and saw nothing to indicate what the button would do. So, without hesitation I pressed the button, and the small stick was no longer a stick, it converted into a Bo staff. Unfortunately, I was still looking at the top of the cylindrical stick, which ended up hitting me on the face.

Holy shit that hurt. But this Bo staff is pretty cool. The stick grew from both ends of what used to be a small cylindrical stick. It's a cool weapon.

"Haha, are you alright? You didn't knock yourself out from that? Did you?" I heard Konan laughing from the doorway.

I ignored his words and began to grab a few items.

I take these items and sell them.

Then I bumped into the best item on display.

"You have the Dragon's slayers shield too?!" I looked at the shield in awe.

"There's only five of these shields, how do you have this?"

"It's been personally given to me." Konan paused and spoke, "You even know of this, how?"

I observed the shield before I answered.

"I knew someone who possesses one of the ten, they are all identical and rare it's not hard to miss."

It's been a while. Maybe far too long that it's hard to remember.

"Why can't I remember?" I sighed.

"What?"

Forget it.

"Nothing, that reminds me is there a city nearby?" I asked.

"Yes, not that far from here but why you ask?"

I smiled. "I'm hungry."
