Story Formation

Dear Readers,

I am a huge reader of web novels and like many of you, I have tried writing a novel myself. Unfortunately, like the many wannabe authors, I gave up mid-way many times or just lost interest because it was too damn difficult.

However, I am now trying to improve my vocabulary and improve my English for competitive exams. What better way to do that than to write a story? In order to do that while keeping up with my goals, I have come up with a brilliant idea (or so I like to believe and hope it works).

There are dictionaries and websites that provide Word of the Days, but reading them daily is not good enough to remember unless you use them a few times or are just plain good at remembering things (unlike me). So, I will be using those words as prompts to write a few paragraphs of the story. Over time, I will have a complete story in hand and my vocabulary will have improved.

What this also means is that there will be no consistency in the number of words or characters that I will use. As soon as I am able to finish using the 5 words of the day, I will end writing.

I have created a subreddit r/WOTDwritingprompts that will help me achieve this. The subreddit is 4 days old now. Please do check it out.

Here, I will be posting the words (without links to their meanings) first and then the story that I have written.

If you do have any great ideas, please do let me know. Preferably on Reddit because it is a pain to look at the comments on this website.

P.S. If I stop uploading then assume that I have either died or failed in my attempt (once again), and I am too ashamed to say it outright and probably procrastinating while deluding myself that I will work on it later.
