Empire of Emeralds

The kingdom, or empire, in which your social class did not matter to certain people. Whether you be part of the common man or were a lord, you could still become a target of one of the highest assassins. Artemis Einar was one of them. Although no one knew how the powerful assassin looked like, they knew that they should be careful and even fearful of her.

She had quite of a reputation in this kingdom. No one knew who she worked under. It was always a mystery to people, 'Who is she working for?' and 'What sort of evil organization is this?' were most of the questions asked. Artemis gained respect through having citizens fear her and that is the way she liked it. Whenever she was kind, people mistook her compassion and kind acts for weakness, but now she lives with respect from others, even if they're scared of her.

Anyways, every team has an opposing side. It was no different for our dear Artemis. For two whole years, our main character has been trying to defeat Kai Sapphirus. Each time she has come closer and closer to assassinating him, he has come close to doing so to her. They are both the higher-top assassins, working right under the wings of two different kings.

But whoop-dee-doo, of course, Kai had to be attractive. Otherwise, why would he be the enemy? He was strong, with muscular arms and broad shoulders. His eyes were sharp and could pierce right through your anatomy. Despite his looks, Artemis hated him. She can not fall in love with her enemy. That's not how things are supposed to work.. right?

-Time skip to present time-

Artemis was walking in the woods, enjoying mother nature with all that she can. Surrounded by orange and yellow, she kept walking with her dress flowing behind her like a sail in the open sea. Walking out into the field, she opened up her bag which was slung over her shoulder.

Hm.. I wonder if I'll happen to see that beautiful owl again.

The sun began to set and she smiled happily, opening her arms she began to run through the fields of flowers. Giggling and feeling a sort of happiness she hasn't felt in a while as the fireflies lit up around her. Making it close to the edge of the field, she sat down in the flowers and looked out into the sky, letting all her worries and thoughts go.

A rustle in the leaves was made which made her quickly snap back to reality and turn her head around before reaching in her bag and holding her small dagger by the grip. Her enemy, Kai, emerges and she quickly stands up, getting ready to attack at any moment if necessary.

"You!", Artemis exclaimed with her brows furrowed forward.

His signature smirk was spread across his face as he started walking closer to her.

"Damn, I thought I was sneaky enough to hide from you", he replied back, making her roll her eyes.

"Tch, please. You're good at hiding if you have to, you did that on purpose. No clue why, I know that you know I am dangerous. And the fact that we're enemies should be something that concerns you", she attached her dagger to thigh strap under her dress as she stared at him.

"Yeah yeah, you're right. I did that on purpose but you can't blame me, darling. Seeing you frightened and alarmed is quite attractive".

"And there goes that stupid smirk again", she thought to herself before rolling her eyes. "Frightened? In your dreams pretty boy", she replied confidently and fiercely.

"Oh? So you think I'm pretty?".

That stupid attractive smirk that was constantly plastered across his face bothered her, but she couldn't deny that it was attractive.

"Don't flatter yourself too much Kai."

He started walking up to her as she gripped her dagger, threatening to pull it out and attack.

"Woah there, calm down doll", he stated, chuckling a bit and continuing to get closer to her.

She blushed a bit from the nickname before pulling it out fully, holding it tightly in her hand.

"Would you really hurt me? You seem too much into me doll"

Why is he so good at this talk?! It's almost hypnotizing to the point where I- no no no! Stay focused Einar!

"Yes, I would. It is both mine and your priority to assassinate each other. I am not letting my king down and trust me, I'm not going down to you without a damn fight", this time she smirked.

He raised his eyebrow. "Oh? Is that so? Are you sure you could handle my skills?"

She tied her dress so it would be shorter and smirked, "Bring it on~".
