Ashura's Incarnation Arc - Chapter 4: Parasite VS T-Rex

In front of us, was a tyrannosaurus rex. One that stood 8 metres tall, and below us was it's young feeding on the guys we were with.

It was like a mother T-Rex holding this carriage with it's mouth and feeding the human pringles inside it to it's puppers.

Thankfully the front of it's head is a blind spot so it didn't spot us yet. So this earth dragon she spoke of is a T-Rex? Am I not in a fantasy world but a Jurassic one then?

「Asura, let's sneak out of here while it doesn't see us.」

"Y-Yes..."

I don't trust this girl one bit in a life threatening situation like this. Maybe I should take control of her body for now.

「Asura, I'll take over okay?」

"T-Take what over?"

「I'll take over your body for now to get us out of here. You don't have any techniques for stealth, do you?」

As a former military servant, I know pretty much alot about reconnaissance or stealth since that's where I majored.

"No..."

After hearing her response, I activated the skill [Mind Invasion].

The sensation I felt when I did was something I've never felt before. The only way I could describe it is like my whole being got jolted forwards. From what I'm seeing, Asura closed her eyes but I reopened them once I obtained control.

I feel so much better now, I can control her body, I really feel it.

Ah...

I'm currently a girl. It doesn't feel like there's a difference, but to be honest it's like my lower part tickles... Being a woman feels extremely... surreal.

Well it's a good thing her breasts hasn't developed all that much yet or it'd be hard to deal with as a full grown man.

I moved her legs just like I would whenever I woke up from sleep back in the previous world by flinging it around. Her flexibility is at no par with mine.

Shit, there's not much time. Studying her body can come later, right now I must escape this doom duo.

Back in my world, I used mountain climbing as another training to improving my joints and legs for the sake of martial arts. Naturally climbing down something like this upside down cage is no big deal.

I used my 22 years of experience and I descended the cage carefully, eventually landing smoothly on the ground.

"..."

I raised my head for a simple look.

It really is a T-Rex.

"Huh..?"

The baby T-Rex and I, our eyes met. The place I climbed down from, is not it's blind spot but where his sight can be perfectly locked to.

Things went silent and I refused to move an inch. I heard in Jurassic Park that T-Rex's have poor eyesight so they're instead sensitive of anything that moves.

I stood as still as a statue at this point but the young T-Rex was still staring at me. Then eventually it gave off a strange cry and it's mother followed it with it's own.

Something was reverberating through the core of my being, fear was flooding in.

I heard of something like this before, in horror movies there exists such sounds that can control the emotions of the listeners. And this creature in particular is releasing it right now.

It only seemed like the mother T-Rex was breathing calmly, but it was as if I'm going to get eaten any second now. I couldn't move my head, let alone my eyes.

Something moved to my direction.

A silhouette overshadowed my body and the mother T-Rex's hind leg just tried to step on me, but for some reason, my body moved by instinct and rolled out of the area of effect.

"..!"

The ground shook violently, the impact it's stomp made, caused a huge shockwave to hit my whole body and I was thrown a few meters away. Thankfully a plant similar to a large mushroom cushioned my fall.

However, my eardrums was still feeling the vibration of the T-Rex's sound of breathing. How can breathing feel so intimidating? Is this the power of an apex predator 60 million years in the past?!

That being said, I better make a run for it.

I detected the flow of movement, the child we were carrying was waking up.

"Mhmmgh..!"

She looked groggy, but after she opened her eyes and laid it on the T-Rex, it became teary and she opened her mouth.

I didn't give her the chance to even let out a single sound or syllable and blocked her mouth immediately with Asura's rather supple and soft hands.

But that didn't work at all, my sudden movement caught the attention of both the giant beasts.

"Crap. I'm done for."

They made their way towards me, since we weren't too far away they simply walked with their enormous legs that could stir up earthquakes.

I kicked the kid away and she ran off somewhere hopefully safe while screaming. It's better to let her go than make her stay here, she'd just be a major drag.

Then I was frozen in fear from head to toe as I faced the two monsters, the constant breathes of the T-Rex's young drawing near. I was getting goosebumps, it's mouth was enough to swallow my whole being.

『You have received a message from the Celestial Owl.』

I received a message from that person? I guess there's no harm in checking during deaths door.

『Devour and Evolve.』

From this message alone, an idea popped up in my head. All my skills suddenly made sense to me.

『You are so dumb I had to help you.』

I understand now, those sentences alone made me realize what I can do? How incompetent of me that someone had to point it out. As an adult, I apologize I wasn't able to handle this kind of situation accordingly.

But right now, I understand what I had to do.

I jumped right towards the young T-Rex, the mother was surprised as I dove right in to it's offspring's mouth and avoided it's sharp tiny teeth.

As if the legs of a spider, peculiar bone structures of around eight grew out of my back and impaled the T-Rex's tongue right inside it's mouth. Alright, now it cannot shake me off now that I have stable footing in it's stinky and oily mouth. However, it was capable of crying for help. It could do that but what can it's mom do?

I touched it's tongue with both of my hands through my palms.

My ability, [Self Evolution] is capable of absorbing something including it's DNA and substance information isn't it? This would mean that...

The T-Rex let out a painful wail, the reason for that is because the mouths in my hands developed sharp teeth and is grinding the insides of the Rex right at this moment. A slow and painful death. They picked with the wrong prey.

As I was slowly eating it's baby from the inside like a normal parasite would, the mother Rex was making a ruckus outside.

They deserve this, they definitely deserve this. They may be a mother and child, just like the family I have abandoned after I died, but I'm only doing this to survive too after they picked a fight with me!

"Aaaaaaghhh!"

I roared at the top of my lungs before my fingers had turned into the steel that I absorbed and transfixed the upper part of it's mouth. Blood was flooding in from all the walls of flesh I've perforated, while simultaneously, I was feeling it's contents entering my body from the two gluttonous mouths.

As eating with just my hands was a slow process, I also grew something like three tentaculums that looked like human intestines from each of my shoulders and they knowingly went straight down the dinosaur's esophagus or air pipe, consuming everything in their way right to it's legs' achilles heel.

The humans inside it's stomach, the six tentacles' chompers ate them too. I couldn't care less since I also needed a human's tongue "blueprint" to recreate Asura's way of communicating.

The spider legs were having a hard time holding out any longer and feels like it'll break from the pressure.

Thump

Judging from the sudden bump, I figured the baby Rex dropped to the ground already. With all this blood loss it's not a surprise.

One or two of the spider legs made out of my bones broke but it didn't pose a problem.

But despite that I still kept eating. From it's brain, right to it's tail. I'll devour them all. Seeing as how I could make anything I eat my own body's, that means I should absorb as much as I can.

Huh?

There's something like an orb that one of the spider legs touched. It was round and slippery but also quite sturdy. What is this?

One of my chompers ate it by accident out of my own curiosity. I guess maybe that doesn't matter, there's no harm in eating it probably.

Right now... I'm feeling like my stomach is full, no way, all that fit in my stomach and it just got appeased now?

I ate everything, it's brain, it's heart, it's skeletal frame, it's livers, almost all it's insides besides the anus was eaten. Ofcourse I didn't eat the waste products, that's just gross.

I feel stronger, strangely.

Using the spider claws that felt tougher than earlier, I ripped apart the hide of this monster and successfully got out.

Fweeesh...

A cold breeze rushed past my skin. A furious mother Rex was glaring through me as if seeking to devour even my soul.

Below me is the dried up corpse of it's offspring and I was drenched with it's blood.

"Hehe... What're you going to do about it, you big ass punk?"

It's jaws opened, contrary to my expectations it didn't bite my head off. But rather a sphere of fire appeared at the apertures of it's mouth and it gradually grew in size.

"No way... So the thing about that thing I ate inside it was because of this... Insane."

The ball of fire gradually started growing at a ridiculous size. That thing must be kidding me, is it trying to make an artificial sun?!

The trees near it was burning and withering away as the bright fire light spread through the entire forest.

Right, that's awesome! I forgot there's this feature as well, this came just in time since I really need that fire resistance right now.

What are with those blunt and plain explanations? But with that explanation, I got a grasp of how weak my fire resistance is right now. And that not every skill starts at a high level.

Vvvvooom!

The Rex discharged the sphere of fire at my direction, directly where it's deceased offspring is. As there's no time to complain, I crouched and used the baby T-Rex's hide to protect myself from the raging flames as a sort of cloak.

Although it was only slightly hot, there was a small force that kept pushing me down, I'm guessing it's the momentum the Rex releases to direct the fire.

In the first place, do they breath fire back on Earth? Ofcourse they don't so this really was a fantasy world. Or atleast I can tell from the explanation about the things I ate.

After what seemed like 10 minutes, the fire breathing stopped. The hide of the baby T-Rex coupled with my Lv1 Fire Resistance protected me from the attack.

That monsterous thing held that skill for that long? It must've been so furious from me killing her child.

It's gone quiet outside. Did it leave thinking I'm already dead? I have to sneak a peek to check.

But something more favorable came to view. The T-Rex didn't leave, in fact it was laying on the ground. Completely out of fuel.

It's breathing was slow and airy, the glow of it's crimson eyes diminishing. I guess it's dying from all that energy it took to cause... This much mayhem.

The trees around me was set ablaze. Fire was everywhere as far as the eye can see. It probably believes it killed me since it didn't see me hide in her kid's corpse.

I bravely crawled out of the hide, even if it has the strength left to bite me I'm strong enough to atleast survive a chunk of my body eaten. Ah... Hold on, I'm so inconsiderate. I forgot this isn't my body but Asura's, I have to be careful.

I approached the fallen beast and it's body was so weak to even make a decent reaction. The only thing that could move was it's eyes so I fearlessly climbed it's head. The sensation I felt was no different from stepping on a small hill.

I didn't have any interest in eating it since I already analyzed the body parts of it's kid. But I do want it's core.

"Hey..."

"..."

"Rest in peace. Sorry but you started it."

Once again, I modified my arms and made them into something similar to drills by entangling them with my own exoskeleton.

After I made a ten inches wide cavity at it's back, I made the tentaculums with mouths again to search for and take the core.

I've only noticed this now, but using these things are really taxing to the body. My stamina is depleting but it's getting replenished with the meat I absorbed from the Rex infant.

"Haah..."

After I took it's core, the mother Rex died and I left the scene. The forest burning is none of my concern. But I wonder where that brat went? Probably died somewhere.

But...

I really am tired...

Just like that, my legs gave up on me and I dropped facedown on the floor. Losing consciousness afterwards.
