Chapter 8

As Knull woke up he saw himself staring at an unfamiliar roof with an odd feeling like he can control everything around him. Looking around for a second he tries to remember how he had gotten to the bed after he passed out, only to vaguely remember some tree branches approaching him.

Sitting up from his bed with a heavy groan he starts to remember all the things that had transpired in the time he had come here. He remembered that he had opened this weird space in his mind and had created all the thing around him out of a single mana stone, but he can't remember much after he ate the apple from the library.

All of a sudden he remembered the information that had flooded him before he passed out, as well as the memory of the pain that came with it. Grimacing at the memory he started to sort out all of the knowledge he had gained and realized he had a pretty good understanding on the way the world worked, at least if mana wasn't involved as magical science was very far behind regular science, mainly because mana is so hard to work with.

Walking around his inner world as he called it a bit more, he decided that it was too devoid of life so he started to imagine all the different kinds of animals he knew. Then suddenly he felt something in his hand, opening his eyes he saw a thick tome titled, "Animal and monster encyclopedia" chuckling to himself he muttered, "well that's convenient". And so for the next 2 months he went over every description of every monster and animal that was ever born including giving them the possibilities for mutations and interbreeding and gave them the ability to age in this time stopped world where nothing truly ages at all.

After all of his hard work he finally had an almost identical replica of earth when there were no humans to roam the planet just adding all the new monsters and animals that were around since then. Satisfied with his work he decided that he would check out his mana reserves and practice a bit more as he had been using his passive meditation for a really long time and he had no idea how long he had slept.

Looking at his mana reserves that were that of a tier 50 scholar he sweatdropped thinking about just how long he would have had to meditate to gain this much progress so quickly. Thinking about how it might be possible he suddenly thought of the mana quality in the air, so he decided to try meditation to test its efficiency.

As he did so the surround energy seemed to come alive as everywhere on the planet life seemed to dance in excitement as its ruler was calling it to gather towards him, so everything took half of its energy even the water in the rivers and the soil on the ground and sent it his way. Knull noticing the sudden increase in energy was surprised for a second only to focus on controlling and using this massive amount of energy to upgrade his rank even further while also consolidating his tier, solidifying his foundation, and increasing his control even further. Several years later he had finally managed to use up all the energy given to him without getting injured. He looked around his surroundings to see that he had been surrounded by animals who were bowing their heads in respect to their lord, and nature which seemed to dance in excitement as he walked.

He once again tested his tier to see that it had not risen past tier 50, but instead he had consolidated his mana so precisely that he had mana that was pure enough to make a mana rich environment just by giving 25 solidified drops of mana to it. This meant he could effectively create massive secret grounds and make his planets mana even more pure.

Next he tested his physical strength and summoned a massive stone that could measure your strength even if you could obliterate galaxies with a flick of a finger. Giving a half-assed punch to it there seemed to be a small glow to the rock and the words, Tier 75 demon lord popped up. Choking on his spit he looked at the words again and sighed thinking about how much he had grown in the time he had spent here.

Remembering that he had gotten beyond sidetracked from his original goal of creating teleportation through the knull zone he decided that for the next 3 years he would work on his 'rift' spell as well as 'limiter' the body limiter spell he planned out earlier. So after 3 years he had finally finished perfecting and mastering these 2 spells to the extent that he could trap someone in the knull zone for eternity, alter someone's physical body to make a human into a hippogriff, and even teleport across the universe in an infinitesimally small amount of time.

Knull wondering what he looked like after all these years summoned a mirror to see a tall and elegant 25 year old man with a slightly overgrown beard but not enough to be displeasing, perfect muscles that seemed to pack the power of the roaring oceans, and beautifully sculpted face that trumped even the most divine gods of beauty.

Thinking it would be hard to explain suddenly being 25 when he returned to school he used his limiter spell to revert his body back 13 years while also keeping his physical condition and magical reserves. Thinking it was time to go back he suddenly thought of something. He looked at the library he had erected and said to it "thank you" to which the tree suddenly replied with a booming but not overbearing voice "of course my liege". Smiling to himself Knull left his inner world and reappeared in the knull zone that he was in before entering his inner world.

Quickly using rift he teleported to the front of his dormitory and heard several gasps of shock. Looking around he saw Emma who had an annoyed and displeased look with tons of people around her and several men trying to ask her out for a date. Next he saw a few people staring at him with wide eyes and shocked expressions on their face. Cursing his stupidity Knull decided to drag their souls to his inner world and quickly wiped any memories they had of seeing him appear replacing it with him having walked to his position so as to not create an overlapping memory he synced it with the others so they would remember it too just from their own perspective. Sighing in relief now that he had avoided that problem he released them from his inner world and came back to reality himself where no time had passed at all due to the time stop in his world.

Walking over to the commotion he decided that he would do Emma a favor as she looked super uncomfortable with all the attention, so he walked over to her and asked her, "Yo Emma what do you want for dinner?"

Emma looked up shocked as she hadn't noticed his presence until now and stammered out, "I don't know I'll eat whatever you make" in a really meek tone that surprised many men around her. Ignoring the bloody glares that could kill a normal man from the sheer killing intent Knull just smiled softly and said, "Ok spaghetti it is." Emma chuckled at his antics and they both made light conversation about what they did that day as they walked into their dorm slamming the door on the dumbstruck students faces.

Hearing the curses and shouts of the students outside their dorm, Emma and Knull looked at each other for a second and burst out laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. Emma in between laughs managed to say with tears in her eyes, "Thank.. You... They were.. really annoying." Calming himself down Knull just cheerily smiled at her and said, "My pleasure Emma. Now lets get some spaghetti."

Smiling at him softly Emma nodded her head in agreement as she watched him walk over to the kitchen and cook up what can only be described as divine pasta, only to be shocked when she saw him pull out various spices and ingredients from mid air. Looking at him she yelled, "YOU KNOW SPATIAL MAGIC?!?" Shocked at her sudden outburst Knull looked at her and said calmly, "Yeah I invented my own spell to teleport and modify bodies as well." Staring at him incredulously she asked him, "but why modify bodies?" to which he replied by activating his mana sight and saying to her, "To block my mana sight in magic rich environments like this."

Emma once again shocked at the revelation that he shared another of her gifts just looked at him blankly for a moment before asking him sheepishly, "could you teach me... I have it too and it's causing me quite the headache" Knull smiled warmly wondering why he wanted to help this cute girl so much and said, "Sure for a favor" with a playful wink. Emma blushed at that and said, "as long as it's not too much." Knull nodded to her and said, "Of course" while smiling in happiness, happy from the favor and being able to genuinely enjoy someone's presence for the first time in... well ever.

As he finished his conversation with her he also had finished making their dinner which was a spaghetti made out of pasta he had created from his inner worlds space that could produce anything he imagined, as well as spiritual beast meat of the highest tier willingly given by a dragon that lived in his inner world. An interesting thing about willingly given spiritual meat is that it doesn't ever give you more spiritual power than what will help you, or the maximum amount if you have crazy reserves like knull as it would only be a drop in the bucket to people like him, not that there are any.

An interesting thing about the beasts of his inner world though is that he can't summon them out to the main world, probably because they don't exist on this plane or in this realm but solely reside within his soul space while other people or beings he bring in actually reside in this realm and his soul space doesn't restrict travellers he brings with him. Only harming them if they have malicious intent towards him or anyone in his soul space.

Sitting down to have the meal with Emma while telling her the basics of the spell and how it can be used, the time passed really quickly. Suddenly it was the next morning and Emma and the Knull hadn't slept at all, however they weren't tired as they had been using spiritual tea to keep themselves awake and wouldn't feel tired until the next night. Emma had gotten a basic mastery over 'limiter' under Knull's guidance and had successfully been able to change basic parts of her body like her age within 5 years, and her features mainly her hair color and other minor details. Seeing the chibi Emma had made Knull nearly faint from how overwhelmingly cute she had looked, but he held himself back.

Overnight the 2 had gotten close like best friends and were very familiar with each other, Knull had felt very pleasant around Emma and she had developed a crush on this young boy who seemed not only extremely talented in spellwork, even creating spells and mastering mana control in 2 days after awakening but also was extremely handsome, good at cooking, well learned, and fun to be around. Anyone would probably develop a crush on him after experiencing all of this first hand.

It also probably helped that he had taught her a way to get rid of her constant headache that mana sight caused the user. Most would say it's a small price to pay for higher mana control, but she and knull would respond, "Ever had a migraine, yeah its 100x worse all the time."

Knull had small feelings for Emma as she was the first person he was ever really close with as well as fun to be around and very cute, but nothing that he realized or was very obvious to those around them. So the two decided to get ready from class after Knull cooked a quick breakfast of eggs and bacon and set off for their first day of magical lessons, that would prove to be more eventful than anyone would have expected.

A/N Quick information about the beasts of the inner world! They can't be taken out if they are natural residents. They can't be taken out if they are the 3rd generation of offspring of new residents from the outside world. All animals and monsters are there and have absolute loyalty to Knull as well as the intelligence of an adult. They can give parts of their bodies willingly and the inner world will regenerate them basically creating infinite material for knull.
