I fluttered my eyes open, adjusting my vision that was still flecked with white.
Someone exhaled sharply. "That went surprisingly well." I quickly recognized the person who spoke, which was Althea.
"No thanks to my genius." It was Lavi's voice.
"Hey, don't take all the credit for yourself." Erion said a few distances away from behind me.
When my eyes cleared up, I found myself standing between rows of gigantic trees casting murky shadows on the ground. The air was still and cold. There was no wind that rattled the branches and rustled the leaves. Even the constant chirping of birds, the sound that I've been accustomed to, was absent. Something about this place felt eerie.
