As Silent As A Mouse

I am being hunted. Well, not me exactly. Someone wants to get their hands on the genius behind A.M.K Pharmaceuticals. They just don't know it's me. I have discovered a way to negate anyone's scent, shifter or human. You would think it wouldn't be that big of a deal... deodorants promise the same thing, but my product is nothing like that. My product turns its wearers invisible to shifters. No, not like that. But shifters need scent more than almost anything else to identify and find a person. Without scent, they can't track down their prey, or smell an enemy coming up from behind. I had originally created it so my adopted father and I could avoid the shifter community. No one was supposed to know about it. Until a little birdy said something they shouldn't have to the wrong person. Now the humans are after me and the shifters want me dead. But that's fine. That wasn't the only thing I came up with. And if I am as silent as a mouse, no one will see me coming until it is too late. This will be a RH novel, the FMC will not have to choose. Starting My Escape

Pushing aside the memory of the both crunchy and squishy spidery snack, I encouraged my mouse to run.

The corridor was dark; not a single light could be seen to guide a person through what I was sure was a maze of hallways meant to confuse an individual. It was smart if you think about it…

And very human.

However, the strategy of trying to trap us inside if we were to escape would only work if we couldn't see where we were going. But shifters had the same night vision that their animals did, so as far as I was concerned, this was a futile effort meant to make the humans feel better.

My mouse continued to race forward, using the corner between where the walls and ceiling met as a guide.

It wasn't easy, and even though I had no problem seeing where I was going, that didn't mean that I had any idea where I was.
