Lucien's hackles rose, and his wolf let out a low growl at Caleb's statement.
"You want to try that one again?" he said, his voice deceptively soft at the man he had considered a friend.
"Do you deny it?" shrugged Caleb back. "If they were as good as you, then they wouldn't be Plan C in any fight. Hell, they wouldn't even be Plan B. Are you really willing to risk Addy's rescue in the hands of the men and women you wouldn't trust with Raphael alone? Because I'm not."
Well, when he put it that way, Lucien really couldn't argue. The enforcers that they would have called on were more like the police force of the pack. They kept everything in order, made the rounds, and kept the permitter safe from rogues or humans, but they didn't have the knowledge or experience to take on something like the compound.
Lucien let out a long sigh before nodding his head. "Fine, you win."
