As Silent As A Mouse

I am being hunted. Well, not me exactly. Someone wants to get their hands on the genius behind A.M.K Pharmaceuticals. They just don't know it's me. I have discovered a way to negate anyone's scent, shifter or human. You would think it wouldn't be that big of a deal... deodorants promise the same thing, but my product is nothing like that. My product turns its wearers invisible to shifters. No, not like that. But shifters need scent more than almost anything else to identify and find a person. Without scent, they can't track down their prey, or smell an enemy coming up from behind. I had originally created it so my adopted father and I could avoid the shifter community. No one was supposed to know about it. Until a little birdy said something they shouldn't have to the wrong person. Now the humans are after me and the shifters want me dead. But that's fine. That wasn't the only thing I came up with. And if I am as silent as a mouse, no one will see me coming until it is too late. This will be a RH novel, the FMC will not have to choose. Fooling Myself

"What did you do?" asked the bunny shifter from where she stood against the far side of the room. She was surrounded by three males, all bunnies themselves, and I could only assume they were her mates.

"I suggested retirement," I shrugged. "I guess they took my advice."

"That's bullshit. I know Councilman Lloyd. There is no way he would ever consider retiring. And even if he did, his son would have taken his place," grunted Silas, frantically typing in a different number.

I had to admit, I was impressed that he even managed to memorize their numbers. Most people would have just had them saved in their contact list.

"No answer?" I asked, sparing a brief glance at the wolf. "Are you going to try five more times before you understand that none of them want to talk to you?"

The poor Alpha wolf seemed to collapse under my gaze as he flopped down to his seat, his eyes staring blankly ahead.
