As Silent As A Mouse

I am being hunted. Well, not me exactly. Someone wants to get their hands on the genius behind A.M.K Pharmaceuticals. They just don't know it's me. I have discovered a way to negate anyone's scent, shifter or human. You would think it wouldn't be that big of a deal... deodorants promise the same thing, but my product is nothing like that. My product turns its wearers invisible to shifters. No, not like that. But shifters need scent more than almost anything else to identify and find a person. Without scent, they can't track down their prey, or smell an enemy coming up from behind. I had originally created it so my adopted father and I could avoid the shifter community. No one was supposed to know about it. Until a little birdy said something they shouldn't have to the wrong person. Now the humans are after me and the shifters want me dead. But that's fine. That wasn't the only thing I came up with. And if I am as silent as a mouse, no one will see me coming until it is too late. This will be a RH novel, the FMC will not have to choose. Bated Breath

"Ah, Commander Newman," purred the woman, and I completely gave up my need to stay hidden. I crawled up from the bottom of Travis' pocket until just my head was popping out.

It stuck in my throat, but I had to admit the woman in front of me was beautiful. Her luscious black hair hung down to her back, the soft curls bouncing with every move she made.

While the military green uniform did little to enhance her looks, it didn't stop them from being appreciated either.

I was so jealous that it took me a moment to understand what she had said. She called Travis Commander Newman.

She knew him outside of this facility.

She knew him.

"I'm afraid I don't know you," shrugged Travis, reaching down until he could gently take me out of his pocket and place me on his head. "You have the advantage here."
