[Chapter 551: Seems Like I Forgot]
"Citibank offered Samsung a $1 billion loan, right?" Arthur said while dining with Lee Boo-Jin.
Lee nodded. "I have to return to Korea tomorrow!"
"So soon?"
"Yeah, by then, I'll be waiting for you in Korea."
"Sounds good."
...
In early March, the Coen brothers' film Fargo premiered.
New York, at the Carlisle Hotel.
On the sofa, Arthur looked at Michael Douglas across from him. "So, has Face/Off confirmed that it's hiring director John Woo?"
"Yeah, we all agree that Woo can handle the dual protagonist script really well, and his experience in crime and action genres made him an obvious choice. His innovative take on violent aesthetics is something Hollywood definitely needs," Michael Douglas seemed genuinely excited about John Woo's involvement.
"Hong Kong directors work swiftly, so I'm sure Face/Off will make its release next year without any issues," Arthur smiled.
Now that John Woo was on board, Face/Off was officially in preparation, produced by Paramount and jointly distributed by MGM!
...
A while later, after their discussion, Michael Douglas left the hotel, and Madchen Amick joined Arthur.
"I can't believe that in Michael Douglas's new film The Rainmaker, you're the lead actress!"
Madchen Amick smiled. "I didn't see that coming, especially since it's a Coppola movie."
Recently, Arthur had run into Michael Douglas and Francis Ford Coppola in Los Angeles;
the movie project they were discussing was indeed The Rainmaker!
"It's nothing. Forrest Gump, Leaving Las Vegas, your fame isn't low at all," Arthur said as he took a sip of coffee.
"Arthur, the Oscars are in just over a week. Are you going back to attend?" Madchen Amick inquired.
Arthur shook his head. "I might go back to Los Angeles, but I'm really not in the mood for the Oscars."
What's his status now? Would Rupert Murdoch, Sumner Redstone, Michael Eisner, and Gerald Levin be attending the Oscars?
If he was in the mood one day and funnily bumped into the Oscars, then maybe he'd consider it.
"Alright then," Madchen Amick stuck out her tongue.
...
That evening, in a bedroom of a townhouse in the Upper East Side.
Arthur lay across Madchen Amick, kissing her on the chest. "Galaxy IPO, I've prepared a few hundred thousand shares of preferred stock for you all; it's an internal purchase; less than $10 a share, it's bound to double after going public!"
"Uh-huh," Madchen Amick reached out and stroked Arthur's face, "Got it."
She knew Galaxy's stocks were valuable, and Madchen Amick also understood that Arthur wouldn't shortchange his women.
Moments later, Madchen Amick flipped over, eagerly snuggling into Arthur's arms, her lips kissing his chest!
"You don't need to sell the stocks too early; Galaxy's stock price will definitely keep doubling in the future," Arthur stroked her while speaking.
"I'll definitely hold on long-term," Madchen Amick smiled; in the past few years, her success on the hit TV show ER, along with films and commercials, had also brought in some income.
Before long, Madchen Amick leaned in and kissed Arthur, her curves pressing against him.
She leaned close, whispering in his ear, "Arthur, what do you think of Naomi Watts?"
"She's not bad. She acts seriously, and her looks and figure are good as well," Arthur replied.
"I got along well with her when we filmed Scream 2; we're still friends now," Madchen Amick said, licking Arthur's earlobe. "Should I set something up with her? She'd definitely agree."
"Is that right? Are you looking for help?" Arthur chuckled.
Madchen Amick didn't deny it. "The Scream series is your arrangement, and you got her cast in Primal Fear, which is coming out next month!"
"Is Naomi in New York now?" Arthur inquired.
"She's in New York, promoting Primal Fear for the past few days. I just saw her the other day." Madchen Amick explained.
Arthur smiled. "We could meet her for dinner tomorrow!"
"Sure," Madchen Amick said, settling into his lap.
Primal Fear features Anthony Hopkins alongside newcomer Edward Norton, and this rookie has surprised everyone; combined with Anthony's seasoned performance, Primal Fear tackles the clash between the truth of the case and the American legal system, satirizing and critiquing the legal field.
With the Simpson case recently concluded, it was a perfect moment to release this film.
....
The next day, Arthur met Naomi Watts in the MGM building. Blonde hair, blue eyes, she truly represented the Hollywood beauty!
"How's the screening for Primal Fear? It's going well, right?" Arthur said with a smile, handing Naomi a glass of wine as she sat on the couch.
"Thanks! The screening for Primal Fear received a lot of positive feedback, especially for the newcomer Edward Norton, who's won many city critic awards for his performance," Naomi Watts smiled as she took a sip.
Arthur nodded, acknowledging Edward Norton's outstanding talent; he looked over at Naomi Watts, thinking she was tight with Nicole Kidman but surprised to learn she had a strong rapport with Madchen Amick as well.
"Not returning to Australia?" Arthur asked as he joined her on the couch.
Naomi Watts shook her head, laughing as she set down her wine glass. "If I have time, I might return to England; I don't often go to Australia. I'm originally British, you know."
"Let's have dinner tonight; Madchen is over in New York too," Arthur leaned back on the couch.
"I know that," Naomi leaned in closer to Arthur. "Arthur, am I not pretty enough for you?"
"You're quite beautiful," Arthur said, his hand casually brushing up her thigh.
"Then does that mean you're not interested in me?" Naomi Watts teased, playfully nipping at his ear.
Arthur chuckled, pulling Naomi into his lap, his hands exploring her softness.
"Uh, hmm..." and they shared a passionate kiss.
After the kiss, Arthur leaned in close to Naomi Watts's ear and whispered, "Can I say I forgot?"
"Ha! You forgot to sleep with me?"
"Almost," Arthur said, squeezing her chest, "You'd better bring your A-game tonight!"
"Don't worry, I'm definitely someone you brought over from Australia..."
