CHAPTER 12

Her body was floating in mid air, her long red hair was fanned out in a circle. Right there, as I gaped at her in awe, she looked like a true goddess. My jaws were apart in awe as I watch her float towards me.

"Woah!" I whispered before realizing that I was talking to the goddess.

"Your Gracious." I said as I bowed.

"No need for the formalities. Call me Diana." She said with a smile. She sounded different like two people speaking together.

"Of course."

"Before I leave, I must tell you to trust autumn. She needs you and every warriors help to fight this war."

"Yes, I understand."

"Also, I need you to stop doubting autumn. She's more powerful than you think."

I nodded in response. She placed a hand on my shoulder and I felt warmth all over me.

"You have great potentials Ryan. They're not out yet though. You need to dig deep."

She removed her hands and a disappointing wave of cold crashed into me. She closed her eyes, landing softly on the grass and came back to our world.

"That was a short conversation."

I stared, blinking a few times trying to wake up if it was a dream. I dug my nails into my arm to bring my self back to reality.I winced at the pain, agreeing with my mind that all I saw was real.

"That was real." I said, trying to reassure my self.

"Why are you so shocked?"

"I don't know. I mean, how can you be a goddess and not know anything about magic when you first came here? It doesn't just make any sense."

She looked away.I knew she was contemplating between telling me and just keeping it a secret.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, I understand..."

I started backing away, pushing my hands into my pocket. I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard her speak.

"It all started when my parents got married..."

                                               🍁            🍁           🍁

As we walked back to the house, she kept on talking about how her guardian mom kept the secret of her being a goddess from her through out the seventeen years of her life.

"She did it to protect you."

"Protecting me or not, she did the wrong thing."

we walked in silence before I spoke up.

"Are you ready for this war? Aren't you afraid of losing your friends, family, anyone at all?"

"Fear is an hindrance for every warrior. I choose to be brave for my people. The more I think of the good people we will lose as a nation that day, the more I will think about backing out. And backing out won't solve the problem."

"When did you become a philosopher?"

"Ever since I realized I have a really big responsibility. And having my parents back even if they're not here right now.Ever since i found out that i'm a goddess."

"It's a lot, right?"

"Sometimes, I think that I was wrongly chosen, like I'm not meant to be a goddess."

"Hey." She looked up at me. "Of course you are. You maybe annoying, nosey, strange and so distracting, but you are also amazing."

"Thanks genius your speech just gave me hope." She said trying to hide a smile.

"Come on, don't be so hard on yourself.I think that you are smart, kind and the best goddess I have ever met."

"Probably the only goddess you have ever met."

"I did have a chat with Diana, that has got to count."

"Believe what you want to believe."

As we approached the camp, the wind began to blow hard and the lightening show started. We started racing to the door as the rain drizzled lightly. I watched her back as she out ran me. as soon as we were out of the rain and were about to say our good byes, the lights went out.

                                                          🍁              🍁             🍁

I searched nervously in the dark for Ryan. After a while of searching, he whispered my name and I walked towards him. I hit a firm object. I tried feeling it for a knob in case it was a door until I heard a grunt that startled me.

"It's me." Ryan said quietly.

"You scared me." i hissed.

"Well, you were touching my abs."

I felt a hot blush rise to my cheek as I glared daggers to his dark figure that I could now make out. I felt his hands coil around mine as he moved down the hall. We went up some stairs and turned right. He felt for a door and finally found one a few steps from the stairs we alighted.

He took out a key from his pocket and opened the door, dragging me in with him and shutting the door after me. Again, he felt his way to a table and turned on a torchlight. Before that I felt no life in the room, he was either staying alone or his roommate was hanging in another friends room.

"Looks like Steve isn't here. maybe he's with mike." Ryan's thoughts echoed softly in my ear.

"Who's mike?"

"What?" He looked up from the drawer he was searching.

"And who is Steve?"

"My friend and my roommate, why are you even asking?"

"I read your thoughts."

"You still don't trust me uhn?"

"Well you don't trust me either, so why should I trust you."

He took out another torchlight and handed it to me not saying another word. We returned back to the hall trying to figure out the way to the girls hall. After searching for hours, we returned back to his room.

"What are you going to do? Cause you have got to leave."

"Thank you for the update but i don't need that information cause i already know that."

I was trying my best to remain calm but I was panicking inside. If Lena finds out, we were going to be in big trouble. Probably be expelled. I suddenly regretted knowing Ryan. It was that bathroom incidence that introduced us anyway so it's not my fault.I recollected what he said was his purpose, inwardly cringing at his statements, and suddenly remembered the exit spell.

"The exit spell." I mumbled loud enough for him to hear me.

"Of course. Why didn't I think of that?"

"Cause you're dumb."

"I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear that."

I rolled my eyes before going back to concentrating and getting out of there but nothing was rushing through, the tingling sensation was absent.

"It's not working." Ryan announced.

I opened my eyes. "I know. I'm spent."

"Of course you are."

I raised an eyebrow.

"There's only one way out and that is taking you there."

"Thanks for stating the obvious."

"You ready?"

"To get away from you? so ready."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

I rolled my eyes. He stretched his hands which I received reluctantly. He pulled me closer and wrapped his hands around me. He closed his eyes and muttered the spells, still holding me close and we appeared in my room. He still held on to me for a while before releasing me, mumbling an apology before disappearing again.Heat rose to my cheek as I kept staring at where he just stood. I was still staring when I heard a voice that froze me.

"Where have you been?"
