Chapter 1: Bright Lights

She's studying as a secondary student in the town of Indang. She, her siblings and her friends were glad because the summer vacation was about to start.

They can now go to their farm again and bathe in the river together.

After eating dinner, Arnie and her younger sister Loida washed the dishes together.

Loida: Older sister Arnie, are you going with Helen to the river tomorrow? Can I come? Arnie's younger sister asked.

Arnie: at the river in the west, I think we're going there with Jinie and Lorna, we're going to pick sayote tomorrow after we got home from the farm and have a few minutes rest. There in the river, in the west part of our barrio. Then we're going to take a look at the grotto that they are building.

Loida: When are you going to the river? Loida insisted...

Arnie: I don't know yet, don't worry, when we go to the river for a picnic, I'll let you come along with us. I know next week Edith will be going home from Imus. So for now, you don't have anyone else to accompany you going places.

Thank you older sister Arnie. Loida said cheerfully

Arnie woke up early the next day, she's excited to go to the farm and pick some fruits with her mother.

Arnie: Mom... I'm ready, I'll go ahead with Loida and Jr, later after we get back from the farm and have a little rest, I and Loida are going to the river at the west part of our barrio with my friends. We're going to pick some sayote at the river and we're also going to see the grotto.

Betty: Oh, okay..... make sure that you and jr arranged the firewoods and load it in the cart when you arrive in our cottage

Arnie: okay mom...

Arnie and Loida walked faster with Helen, Jinie, and Lorna. They are going to the river in the western part of their barrio.

Helen: Jinie, why do we have to pass through this road?

The way is too steep, we might accidentally fall down....

Jinie: Because this is the short cut, besides we are already used to climb up and down the steep road. Right?!?

Helen: mm well..... you're right...

Arnie didn't you come from the farm and harvest coconuts earlier??? did they get any macapuno???

Arnie: I don't know Helen, me and Loida only asked for some young coconut. And that's what we ate there, we didn't get the chance to go around the farm because we need to arrange the firewoods and load it at the cart. Arnie said to her friend.
