Labyrinth Conquering Quest - Group 1 - Part 2

[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]

Once the group was inside the labyrinth, they did not expect that several traps would have been already launched.

But, naturally, they casually were able to dodge or destroy the traps thanks to Satoru training them and being well aware about them through the labyrinth's rooms.

For example, Shizuku was skilled and quick enough to cut through the sawblades which were made with identical ores and even dodge arrows that were faster than an average one.

It went in their minds that due to Satoru, their confidence and pride went up, not too much for the latter, but they really expected that other surprises would be present in the deeper levels of the labyrinth.

They'd even try to avoid potential traps like the statues placed around the rooms.

So far, it was merely a piece of cake.

Until a girl's voice came from different directions, surprising the group much.

{Huh?! I did not expect you guys to dodge my traps quite easily!} She said, as the group began to feel alert.

"Who are you?" Ryutaro asked, curious while letting some of his guard down.

{Who am I? Ah, that right. I am the beautiful, powerful, and wise Miledi Reisen, creator of this labyrinth and one of the Mavericks! Aside from that, maybe you should look behind you, teehee~!}

After a short introduction, they did look behind.

The ground rumbled, as a part the ceiling above opened like a trapdoor, letting out a massive boulder that crashed down to the ground before rolling down to their location.

Not just that, but the pathway back was sealed off.

"Oh shit. This is like those Indiana Jones movies now huh?!" Hajime spoke, instinctively running down a steep path.

Some of his classmates followed suit

"Should we even try to destroy it!?" Ryutarou asked loudly, thinking he might be able to stop the boulder with his strength.

"No way! We're not wasting our energy so let's just run!" Kaori replied, before suddenly tripping down towards Hajime. "Eep!"

Hajime, having noticed her falling to the ground, immediately bounced forward and caught her.

By instinct, the priestess held on to Hajime, looking at his face as they ran down the steep hall with their classmates.

Shizuku used swift steps and even running on the walls and ceiling to avoid accidentally pushing her classmates.

".... Nn... I don't feel like that boulder is a threat." Aletia muttered, shrugging her shoulders.

"This is way more fun than just destroying that boulder, just move!" Eri energetically yelled out, pumping her first up to the air as she began racing down the pathway.

And after a long while, they all leaped up to avoid falling into a hole, in which the boulder fell into.

Now that they were safe, and naturally without breaking a sweat, they continued moving forward.

Then, Miledi's voice reached their ears once again.

{So how was that?}

"It was fun! Even for a short while, I suppose." Eri replied, shrugging her shoulders with a light smirk.

"It was mildly annoying!" Came Hajime's reply the moment he put down Kaori, before he gestured his classmates to follow him.

{Come on! I've been making those traps for years!} Exclaimed Miledi, like a child who was pretending to cry. {Hmph! Prepare yourselves, my knights will decimate your asses!}

"And I'm going to spank your ass if I ever meet you!" Hajime replied,

{Awww~ so cruel~ will you ever do that truly?}

"Of course!"

Minding their own businesses, the group stumbled upon a long hallway with statues of knights placed in lines near the walls.

But, the moment they were near enough, the knights began to move and attack in formations.

Hajime switched his handgun to the 90cm rifle, [Freischutz], before shooting through 4 knights with swift hands.

A few of his classmates also used firearms to deal with the knights coming out of the walls and ceiling.

And Shizuku ran towards the walls, before leaping off it to cut several more knights with intense precision in one man powered slash. However, because she wasn't done, she immediately appeared at the end of the hallway with a stoic face, her afterimages looking like they had already slashed the knights.

After sheathing her sword, several dozens of knights were cut to pieces and torn apart.

"[Tenfold Blossom Cutter]" Shizuku muttered her move, exhaling a sigh to recover lost stamina.

And to both Eri and Aletia, they pulled back their groupmates with the intention of "not allowing them to be hurt accidentally", before standing side by side, nodding to each other

"[Dark Azure Blaze]!" The two of them yelled as they combined their spells together, launching it as it created a massive amount of destruction to the hallway in front of them, vaporizing their enemies just before the spell was dispersed by the Gorge's unique properties.

{Hey! That's not fair! You cheated!} Miledi complained like a child in a tantrum, but clicked her tongue afterwards, knowing she would have to use her last resort.

After a shorter while the golem knights were completely annihilated, leaving only an empty hallway that allowed them to proceed further into Miledi's Labyrinth.

All that awaited them was..... a massive room?
