3. Siegfried III

The rain was coming down heavily and a scene akin to an apocalyptic movie could be seen as corpses were littered everywhere with the eerie crimson road, along with broken cars. 

And a few metres away from it all a young woman could be seen holding a man as she tried to shield his body from the rain, as her eyes seemed devoid of light and her face was blank showcasing no emotions. She just stared into the peaceful smile on the man's face with a blank look.

It could be seen that, when the man died a part of her died along with him...

A raven-haired woman with an eyepatch covering her left eye was rushing through the traffic at high speeds. She drove her car through the pedestrian-only streets while she had a frustrated expression on her face. She had some bruises and cuts on her face that were bleeding a little bit as another woman near her tried to patch her up without obstructing her driving.

Their names were Rose and Lily, they were friends of Siegfried from his mercenary days. They currently were employed under Ruby Faust because Siegfried requested their help. They accepted his request without a second thought as they owed him a lot.

" Shit! " Rose cursed out loud in frustration at not being able to rush to Siegfried's aid immediately as all of their team was ambushed and all of them were held back by the enemies. 

She didn't know what happened but when Ruby called her as she was crying over the phone, she knew that Ruby was safe but Siegfried was shot and she told her that he needed emergency treatment. But Siegfried snatched the phone over from her and told her to not rush as there was no point in it.

Rose gritted her teeth in anger, like hell she would do that! Did he expect her to just let him die? But Rose felt a pit forming in her stomach as she was unable to rush to him immediately due to facing countless obstructions.

Rose arrived at the place described by Ruby and she felt her breath hitch at the sight, this further showcased how dangerous Siegfried was as he alone was the one responsible for raising their rookie mercenary group to the apex of the underworld.

Rose got out of the car and looked for Ruby and after seeing her silhouette in the strong rain she ran towards her. Rose had a grim expression on her face as she ran towards Ruby who seemed to be holding someone in her arms, Rose felt her heart constrict as she bit her lips in frustration and denial. 

She didn't want to confirm the answer to the question in her head, so she stopped a few metres away from Ruby refusing to move. Rose suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder as she looked towards her best friend Lily who gazed at her with a sad face. Due to the rain, she couldn't distinguish the tears from the rain droplets. 

Rose turned her face upwards as she took in the gloomy night sky and let the rain fall on her face. Maybe it was better this way as the stupid bastard told them to not shed tears at his death, he won't be able to find out like this right? 

....

Lily and Rose just stayed beside Ruby as they held an umbrella to shield her from the rain. They could see the peaceful smile on his face as if he was satisfied with everything. 

Gazing at Ruby, Rose felt a little worried as she couldn't see any light in her eyes. But she could sense that deep raging emotion, an emotion that she was familiar with the most as she was also feeling it.

Rage ...pure unbridled rage.

She was going to find whoever was responsible for this and crush them, their mercenary group might have disbanded but just one call from Siegfried was enough to bring them all back. 

Even if he is gone their group was fiercely loyal to him and would for anything for him.

It was time for a purge and it will be bloody...

Rose was startled when she sensed movement from Ruby who was just like a statue and when she turned her gaze in her direction she was startled. 

She gazed with wide eyes as she saw Siegfried's body disintegrating into light particles, it was like a colourful flame was lit on his body as it was swallowing his body. 

Although she was dumbfounded and confused at this seemingly supernatural event, she was able to regain her composure as she was dealing with Siegfried and if it was related to him then it shouldn't be normal. The things he did were not possible for a normal human, being able to lead a mercenary group while just being a teenager is not something just anyone can accomplish.

And the scene of carnage he created here is not something anyone would believe for a normal person to commit. She smiled sadly while reminiscing about old times while the bright particles were reflected in her eyes.

She watched them float into the sky as they disappeared into the night sky....
