Chapter 18: Han Min-Jun’s Class

Han Min-Jun and I first stayed at a temporary inn and afterwards, we went out and explored the city. As we walked Han Min-Jun stared from one place to another in awe, and what caught his attention the most was the wooden mechanics and engines that roams in the place. Seeing him like this I couldn't help smiling. If I hadn't saved him from those thugs before in the mountain, his fate just like in the game was to be driven off from this city and be taken to another place by the river. Though it's because of it that he became stronger and found his passion, he struggled and experienced different pains.

There is a saying, 'Life is Pain', through pain and experience can we overcome our hardships and ourselves, though cruel it is the truth.

But…

I won't let that happen to them, I will change their fate and give them the life they deserve. It is just a small favor compare to what they had given him…

Discarding my thoughts, we stopped at a certain stall. Seeing my eyes the stall owner was about to scream but I made a silent gesture and the stall owner obeyed with fear. Han Min-Jun noticed the strangeness but kept silent knowing that it was not the right time to ask. I then spoke and said "Can I see the set of glasses you have?"

The stall owner nodded decisively and pulled out the set of glasses inside a chest. Seeing the glasses Han Min-Jun was in awe but then thought of something and asked "Are you gonna buy glasses?"

"What do you think?" I asked and said with a smile in my eyes "It's for you, pick whichever you want" Han Min-Jun was stunned and refused but I encouraged him and after some long contemplation, Han Min-Jun sighed before he looked at the set of glasses carefully, then, he saw a pair of glasses that made him unable to take his eyes off.

Seeing him like this, I smiled and picked the pair of glasses he was staring at and said to the stall owner "We'll be buying this" before handing out 100 coins. The stall owner was shocked and I did not give him the chance to refuse as I said "Keep the change"

Looking at the stunned Han Min-Jun I grinned and said "Let's go". Seeing my fading back, Han Min-Jun quickly came back to his senses and followed behind. As we walked I handed him the glasses and Han Min-Jun became hesitant as he looked at me. I said "It's yours, try it" Han Min-Jun looked at the glasses, taking a deep breath before wearing it, as soon as he opened his eyes he felt that he could see more clearly now. Because they lived in the mountains and never set foot in this city they were not able to buy him a pair of glasses, even if they do set foot they don't have the money.

Looking at his 'new' look, I grinned and said "Perfect, it suits you well" Han Min-Jun's face flushed red in embarrassment and lowered his head as he whispered "Thank you" I stopped teasing him and we walked for an hour, later on Han Min-Jun noticed that the surroundings seemed to have changed and asked "Where are we going now?"

"Hm? Well, we are currently headed to the Class Association to register you" I said which made Han Min-Jun stunned, "What…?" I chuckled at his bewildered face and explained "Since your academy is only for orphan students and unlike the huge academies who sets the students classes, you only learn how to write and read right?"

Han Min-Jun lowered his head which answered my question and I continued, "That's why we are going to the Class Association to register your class" Suddenly Han Min-Jun halted and I also stopped, looking at him with bewilderment I asked "What's wrong?"

"Why?" Han Min-Jun asked, "Why are you doing so much for me?"

I was silent before saying "It's because you're my disciple"

"Why me though?" Han Min-Jun exclaimed which made the other people stare at us but we ignored their gaze and Han Min-Jun said "Out of all people, why me? I'm just a nobody…"

Suddenly I became cold and spoke to him solemnly "Then are you saying my judgment is wrong?"

Hearing this Han Min-Jun became flabbergasted and said "No-"

"Then be thankful instead" I said domineeringly which made Han Min-Jun flinch. I said "You were chosen by a [Guide] and now have the opportunity to become stronger, to be able to protect someone you love"

"But, there is no free thing in the world!" Han Min-Jun interrupted and I smiled at his words before saying "Then in exchange for my doing, become the strongest"

"What?" Han Min-Jun became confused and the winds made my robe flutter, suddenly the surroundings became silent and blurry as if we are the only two people in the world left. I said as I reached out my hand "Student Han Min-Jun, become the strongest person in your class and that'll be already enough to repay your favor to me, do you understand?"

'Become the strongest? But that's impossible, how can someone like me be able to become the strongest…' Han Min-Jun suddenly felt disheartened, feeling overwhelming pressure on his shoulder but I continued and said "Trust me" Han Min-Jun raised his head and I said "Trust in me, your [Guide], that I'll be able to make you the strongest"

"So, believe in yourself and don't let me down, alright? Since I believe in you, you should do the same as well" My words were like thunder and Han Min-Jun's entire being was shaken, finally clenching his fist and bit his lower lip, looking at me with determination he said "I will! Thank you so much! Zero!"

…...

Arriving at the Class Association, we looked at the board as many people passed by us. Every single people in this place looked domineering and strong which made Han Min-Jun nervous, remembering my words he took a deep breath and patted his chest saying in his mind over and over 'You can do it Han Min-Jun, believe in yourself!'

As it was our turn, the receptionist asked what Han Min-Jun's class will be and Han Min-Jun looked at the board. Just as he became confused and anxious about his decision, I patted his shoulder and said "Believe"

Han Min-Jun looked at me before taking a deep breath and pointed at a certain class on the board, saying, "The Class I'll be choosing is--"

"--Inventor!"
