Chapter 18

Thou shalt not covet. Thy covetousness sparks your death.

---

It turned out that Mary's house was just a few blocks away from Wil's small apartment. It was in the same area, but Mary's place was a bit further from the school, so she would sometimes take the path Wil takes, too.

After bidding farewells and saying thanks, Wil proceeded to take the stairs and walked towards his door. It was a small building with other tenants. Although it was not a boarding house, Wil shared the same bathroom with everyone. However, of course, the men's and women's bathrooms were separated.

Upon opening his door, under his nose went the lemony scent tinge from the air purifier, which automatically opens once the light to his apartment is turned on.

The exterior of his apartment was neatly plain, and Wil was minimalistic. He does not have that much furniture and things to display around him. Just a small bed for himself, a pair of utensils, a plate, a bowl, one cup, everything. Although, he has a reserved set of plates and utensils stashed away in case his parents visit him.

"Suddenly, I feel tired."

His body just surrendered to the feeling of being at home, his suppressed exhaustion flooding his body like a storm. Wil just let himself fall on his soft white sheets bed.

"My stomach's grumbling. I am famished."

For a few minutes, Wil ignored his stomach and let himself indulge in that comfortable feeling brought to him by the soft cover of his bed.

"It's great that we don't give our ATech back to its case. Moreover, we can use it in our daily lives with the same amount of usage the system gave us each day."

At first, Wil really had no use for the Useful Eyeglasses, except when it was night. With its cool night vision feature, Wil would traverse the night and experience a new night while having his vision reduced ld to black and white.

"Visual guidance."

[Visual Guidance (Level 1): Users gain the ability to receive basic visual cues or markers directly into their field of vision. These cues provide simple directions or indicate the location of nearby resources, helping users navigate unfamiliar environments or locate essential items with ease.]

"Essential items I will need for survival... I wonder how this can help me in my day-to-day life."

His eyelids felt heavy and before Wil noticed it, he had fallen asleep without eating dinner.

Many like a clear blue sky and sunny weather while others prefer a cloudy morning with gusts of wind occurring every several seconds after the last one. For me, it would be a cloudy and windy day, for I love to hang out on a shady morning where the cool breeze could sweep the exhaustion away.

And today is a sunny yet windy morning where the culminating breeze took dry leaves and dust in the air. Yes, the weather being windy was great for the sunny hot day. A perfect complementary weather.

It was the students from the same university as Wil, who were enjoying and relaxing under the perfect weather. Wil, on the other hand, was inside the library. He was reading a lot of books regarding sci-fi stories and theories, hoping that he would stumble upon something relevant to the Room.

"None, none, none... I can't find any books that could explain everything."

It seemed that someone heard Wil's sigh of defeat and grumble when a student behind him spoke.

"Ahem! What kind of book were you looking for?"

Assertive-looking and quite the tall woman, that was Wil's first impression of her. She stood behind him in her prim and composed manner, reaching Wil eye to eye.

"Oh, uh, are you the one in charge here? I'm looking for a book that—"

Wil's eyes fell to the book she was hugging with the title written, "Apoclysm: Find Your Own Thrill."

"This? Ah, so you're into science fiction? I can recommend this. Such a great read. And, oh, I am not the librarian here. I might just look one because of my attire plus these eyeglasses that make one seem intellectual, but I'm just another student like you... Wilfritz."

Bold of her to just grab Wil's student ID that was hanging around his neck from lace and read his name. She handed over the book she was supposed to place back on the shelf and gave Wil a warm and friendly smile.

"Thanks," Wil took the book off her hands and did not know what to do after that. He awkwardly waited for her to do something until it was unbearable anymore, thus giving her the favor of doing the same thing. "Aralina... a star-quality name. Delicate and beautiful. Golden beauty."

"Oh my! How knowledgeable. Big points for being a smarty pants!"

Aralina seemed to have been getting carried away that her tone raised from low to noticeable, which began to receive an eye from other students who were silently spending their time inside the air-conditioned room.

"You should lower your voice..."

"Oops, was I too loud just now? Sorry, I got excited!"

"Anyway, thanks for this. I'll tell you what I think about it once I'm done with it."

Wil excused himself, and Aralina did not put that much pressure on him, letting him go over to the librarian to borrow the book for a week.

For the last time, Wil looked back to see what Aralina was doing, and coincidentally, the lady had taken a quick glance in his direction, to not make things awkward, Aralina openly waved her hand to Wil, which he embarrassingly responded with an awkward wave of his hand, thus prompting himself to hurry out of the library.

"Man, was that fucking embarrassing. And I have to go back there to return this book."

In all honesty, Wil was flustered and embarrassed because he found Aralina to be his exact type of woman. His ideal composition of real beauty.

Hundreds if not thousands of women Wil have seen before. There were real beauties and those you can say that got carried by their fashion and make-up.
