Zhan Base

Kai soon came out of his space and walked out of the battle group so he will not be attracting any more monsters. But is seems he will be disappointed because a group of sinister black skeletons found and surrounded him.

They soon attacked him with weapons that seem to be in good condition to be in the hands of a bunch of skeletons. Could someone be control them? He went back into his space and used a disguise technique he had learned a while a go for fun and turned his looks to be very ordinary.

He wants to go undercover as a normal swordsman and not reveal his immense wealth to the first he meets. He wants to see if he can make a friend like this. He came out with his weak looking sword but it is in fact very strong as it was one if his failed attempts at making a flying sword at that time.

He didn't come out of the space and went to prepare basic supplies after he removed his smart bracelet and anything that will make him look well off. But he refuse to make himself dirty. So when he finally walked out of the shabby inn he was very clean.

The skeletons had disappeared but Kai didn't hang around for long. Walking out, he found a decent truck and started pouring oil in it and remembered to make a stop by the largest oil depo to clean it out since he had promised himself to do it in a year if they haven't finished it by then.

Phil came out and saw the shabby truck that Kai is driving and looked puzzled. "There are tens of reinforced trucks in your space, why are you driving a dusty truck?"

"I want to see if I can make a real friend by blending it." Kai sounded proud for coming up with such a brilliant plan.

"Why bother? Your wealth didn't make your previous friends stay either." Phil said with sass.

"Funny." Kai said with sarcasm.

"I can't stand the dust." He snapped his fingers and used a light cleaning spell with even helped the car with removing dirt that was preventing it to start. The car is clean outside in even the tires. Kai seems pleased when the car started, he drove it to the path with the least amount of obstacles.

"This is going to take forever." Phil is bored. His master can even use a flying sword if he wanted to, not to mention he is foundation establishment realm already.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Go ahead."

"You are already a foundation establishment realm, why did you fall when you couldn't ride June anymore?"

"It happened too fast and I haven't been using that particular set of skills after advancing. It didn't even cross my mind afterwards." Kai laughed at his oblivious self.

"It's okay, I will be with you to help next time." Phil said in comfort even as he ridiculed his master in his heart.

"Thank you." Kai said.

The drive is not as smooth but they soon came across a dilapidated area that seems to have been a small shopping center before. Kai can feel life signals inside but he doesn't want to get involved with other people before he makes it at least halfway to his destination.

Just thinking about the magic stones he becomes energized so he drives passed the place without bothering to replenish his supplies like a normal person would.

"There are three children in that place they will die soon from cold and hunger." Phil knows his master has a soft spot for orphans that has followed her even to this world. Kai stopped and reversed before putting a few blankets on the backseat.

He then came out of the car and walked towards the place with two corpses and three girls. One looks to be older and the two are between six and four years of age.

Kai knocked on the giant door and waited but no one came to open. This shopping center has four groups. The large group occupying the grocery store, the second largest in the smaller grocery store the next group made of children who seem to be taking care of themselves and this one with two dead parents and three remaining children.

Kai walked to the smallest group because they seem to be dying. He already made a plan to take them all away but they will have to be placed inside his basement where they can not escape until he takes them out.

He can not risk his space being exposed by them someday. The basement is actually a dungeon that Kai wanted to imprison wrong doers not that he was planning on putting people inside his space but he wanted a perfect castle.

"I work for the new orphanage and boarding school that is recruiting those too young and those young enough to be called children." Kai took out a cigarette and lit it while he waited between the two doors as if he is not cold at all.

When the two doors remained closed he opened his backpack and took a flask that seems to be holding liquor. He will warm himself this way.

Seeing no one opening he went towards the door with three kids. "You will be very safe in the school I can show you our introduction video. There is a number that you can call to find out at the side of the video. I have a phone you can use."

He threw a box after breaking the window and it landed on the ground. The older child took the box and threw it back out. Seeing that he will not get anywhere with this level of distrust between them, he took out a small bottle and threw it and another one.

"The first bottle should heal your bodies and make you strong enough to be considered normal healthy. The second is a type of a fasting pill that will make you full for two days. Good bye." He turned around and left.

"The older girl wanted to throw the bottle back out but the man had left. She is going to lose her sisters to fatigue and starvation soon. She decided to feed the healing pill to the one that looked like they would die today.

The pill worked with in minutes making her pale skin rosy again. Seeing this, she opened the next bottle and ate the fasting pill. The hunger pangs disappeared almost immediately. She looked at the pills in shock and quickly gave the pills to her sister and took a healing pill herself.

She now wants to follow that person to the orphanage. They can have such medicine and give it away so easily then they will be able to get food for them.

"The girls are healthy now, what will you do?" Phil asked but Kai just returned into his space and took off this disguise and went to spend time with his children.

"I will go to the other group. See if they are up for a chat." Kai walked to the group and knocked on the door. "I know two of you are about to starve to death, why don't you open the door and let me take you to a safe place how about it?" 

He waited but a young boy with red hair and small brown eyes came out looking at his with a fierce expression. "Are you here for a child bride?" 

Kai is surprised by the sharp words. "Aren't you a little too young for such words?" 

"That is not what I asked from you. Are you here to kidnap the kids so you can use us for your sick desires?" The boy asked harshly.

"No, I am here to recruit children for an orphanage that I work for." 

"You are going to make them stay in your small car? If you really work for a big place then why are you not here with a large truck or a school bus?" The red haired asked 

"I have a safer way to transport the kids that is also warmer. All I need is concern and I can take everyone away immediately. Are you in charge here?" Kai asked with a raised eyebrow. 

The boy looked at him up and down and nodded. "You can say that." He answered.

"Well take these and give them to your friends they will get rid of the hunger. I will be back in 15 minutes so made a decision before then." Kai turned to leave but the bot said something. 

"You said there is a much safer way to transport everyone, I want to see it." The boy said making Kai stop and turn around. A second later he felt his surrounding change and he appeared in a dark place. 

Kai turned on the lights and a raw of cells appeared in front of them, there is a single stone bed in the cell and a toilet. There are no windows or exits to see outside. The place is not cold even though the ground seems to be made from melted stone. The walls and the ground are smooth and shiny. 

"This looks like a prison." The boy said.

"That is because it is a prison. It is inside my space. This is inside my space building that has been equipped to hold living things." 

"You have space super power?" The boy asked in surprise.

"Yes. I will be putting you all here while I go and recruit more people. I will then take all of the children to the orphanage." Kai explained. 

"I will discuss it with the others." 

"Okay." Kai took the both of them out and left the boy. 

Kai sent the robots to put blankets, sheets and pillows in the cells. They also put a long table in the space between the cells. There are cell doors facing each other. The table will have food depending on the time of day and the castle servants will take care of everything. 

There is a place for them to shower so he organized for clothes to be put in one side. There are new towels, soap bars, tooth brushes and tooth pastes. He set an open area where they can wait before taking a bath, and entering their place to rest and wait to be taken to the school. 

When the time was up he went back to the place and found the children waiting. Even the three from next door. "There is one little thing before we go, I will stay outside with you to make sure there are no funny businesses." The boy from earlier said looking at Kai as if daring him to reject. 

"Fine." He took them in.

When they entered they had to take a bath and then go into a cell. Most of the children wanted the cell doors to be open but they always have to close at night when the lights are off. The boy also took a bath and after changing his clothes came out to join Kai on the truck. 

"I'm Kai, what is your name?" 

"I'm Bao. Where are we going?" 

"I am going to the Zhan base, it will take around four days if we don't get delayed on the way. 

"I see, wake me when you need me." The boy closed his eyes and pretended to sleep.

Kai drove the truck but there is someone waiting for him by the gate, this person is holding a gun followed by many other people.

"Come out of the car!" The man shouted. Kai looked at the boy and told him "lay low and down raise your head because you might get shot in the head." The boy nodded but Kai didn't see any fear in his eyes. 

Kai came out of the car and walked to them "Gentlemen, how can I help you?" He asked them with a playful smile on his face.

"Give us your supplies." The one holding a gun said. 

"No. I need my supplies, If there is nothing else please move out of the way I just had the car cleaned." Kai said with a helpless tone.

"I am not playing, I will shoot you in the head if you keep playing around." 

"Look, I usually don't mind a glorious murder but I have a kid in the car and It is better if we leave each other with all our limbs in tack and not traumatize younglings yes?" His eyes turned purple with crackling thunder visible.

The men moved out of the way, Kai took the gun with his mental power and threw it a distance away before driving away. "You can stop pretending to be asleep now." He said to the boy. 

"I am trying to sleep." Bao said before he continued sleeping. The car went on the snowy road in silence. The snow has been falling for years now, this is why people are dying in numbers. 

Kai made it to a silent town by the end of the day but he is not planning to stop for a rest and continued all night. He kept giving the boy fasting pills so that he will not need a rest stop. 

Two days later he came across the group with Jiang Ye fighting a group of rat looking monsters the size of large cats. They can dodge nimbly and has sharp claws. Some have supernatural powers. He packed the car and woke up the sleeping Bao. 

"Take this, you have played video games right?" Boa nodded with a drowsy expression. If anyone or anything approaches you with aggression, aim and shoot." Kai gave him a laser gun with sniper power. 

Kai went out after taking out his sword. As soon as he appeared he brandished his sword and cut a large rat on two. his movements are fast and precise. The rats started seeing him as a threat so many powerful ones gathered on his side to pressure him but Kai calmly dealt with them. When the ground is littered with corpses he, the other people are checking on their team mate. 

Kai raised his hands and the crystal nucleus of the rats he killed came to his open bottle, Jiang Ye is coming to make small talk when he saw a large number of crystal nucleus enter a clear bottle one after the other. 

"Wait, don't you think you should talk with us before you loot what belongs to us?" Iron Gil walked toward Kai with aggression.

"I only took from the ones that were killed by me." Kai closed the jar and turned to leave.

"Hi, I am Jiang Ye can we travel together?" He decided to be straight forward since Kai seems to be in a hurry. 

"I need to get going now, I can not be delayed." He looked at the items on the ground and thought it is a pity since the strong coat would make good Items for the store later.

Jiang Ye let his go but he felt they could use one more hand. Kai left the group and drove away. He could finally see the outline of the Zhan base.

It seems that Lu Mo has really outdone himself here. The place is 60 percent as big as the central base and has a wall two times taller than the one in the central base. Kai can only see a handful of sky scrapers from the ground.

"The wall is really tall." Bao said in marvel.

"Yes. There are a few people on the wall watching us." Kai pointed at the soldiers on the wall.

The gates have lines but the line moves very fast soon it is their turn. "How are you going to stay?" Kai is surprised. 

"Do I need a place to sleep before I can be allowed inside?" He asked.

"Yes sir. We have affordable options and if you don't have means to pay you can go to the base shelter but you will be given a two day ticket. After that you are required to get employment there are adverts on that wall." The lady said with a smile. 

"What happens if I don't get employment or I can not work due to injury of age?" Kai asked, the lady didn't get impatient but answered calmly. 

"We have an orphanage and the old age home in the base sir. If you are crippled we also have a facility for you but if you are injured you will be treated on credit and have to pay the medical fee when you get employment." 

"Impressive." Kai booked a high end residence with two bedrooms. After coming out of the welcoming office buildings they saw a prosperous city in front of them. The ground is concrete and there is clear division between residential and commercial streets. 

"This place seems pretty good." Bao said.

"Agreed." They soon made it to the hotel and the place is not overly luxurious but it is clean and has heating. 

"I have an errand to run so you can rest and wait for me to finish my business." As soon as he spoke he saw the boy widen his eyes.

"You are not thinking of abandoning me here are you?" 

"Take that and call me if you want something, my number is in the contact list." Kai threw a basic bracelet with 10 squire meters space. He threw him two level one crystal nucleus "Recharge your energy bars."

A few moments later, Kai has reverted back to his original appearance. After knocking he went into a spacious office. "Master." Lu Mo stood up and greeted him warmly. 

"I see you are doing well." Kai greeted back and soon they talked about the magic stone mine. Lu Mo took out a magic stone and gave it to Kai. 

"This is what we found, an entire mountain of these colorful stones in different sizes." 

Kai sat down and took a few tools from the space. He retrieved the information about magic stone processing. "Don't mind me." He started carving the magic cycles and formulas. 

The stone in his hand is one without any element so it can be used for most purposes. Kai carved a simple barrier formula and glued it on a necklace that he had gotten from a high end jewelry shop before.

The initial grey color has now become a vibrant green which is the color of barrier magic. Putting the necklace on the desk he took out his real sword and stabbed the desk. It seemed the magic didn't get activated so Kai gave it to his subordinate. 

"Master this is for women..." He is not sure about refusing his master's grace but he is a man okay? 

Kai attacked with half his strength, he is repelled by a bright green barrier. "And they said having small hands is a disadvantage." Kai took a closer look at the item while Lu Mo sat down because the aura coming from Kai a moment ago was horrifying. 

"Well, that is yours to keep. Show me the location of the mine." Kai didn't see his shaking legs and continued to instruct him. He can not believe he finally came in contact with the legendary magic stone.
